A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 317: Chapter 317: My Little Hot Temper (5)

”My life? You should be more worried about your sister!” Seraphina Sterling shot him a look. She had seen it all clearly. He was the one holding Wyatt Gallagher back. ’Now that your sister’s the one who’s hurt, you finally know what it’s like to be worried!’

”Don’t think we didn’t see anything just because we were outside the ring and far away! If you hadn’t thrown something that spooked Shannon’s horse, there’s no way she would have fallen off! Your Sterling Family might be powerful, but our Gable Family is no pushover. If anything happens to my sister, the Gable Family will never let you get away with this!”

Jay Gable’s eyes flashed with menace, wishing he could avenge Shannon Gable on the spot.

”You can’t blame me for that. Why couldn’t your sister just ride her own horse instead of interfering with me? If she hadn’t carelessly struck my horse with her whip, I wouldn’t have panicked and thrown the fruit knife I was holding! Now that she’s fallen off her horse, you can only say she brought it on herself!”

Seraphina Sterling was not the type to be bullied and suffer in silence! No matter who it was, if they hurt her, she would make them pay a thousand times over! So what if she was a Gable? Seraphina Sterling wasn’t afraid!

”It’s nothing serious, just a nasty fall! Her wrist is dislocated, but she’ll be fine after a few days of rest!” Wyatt Gallagher let out a sigh of relief. If Shannon Gable had been seriously injured and triggered a conflict between the Gable and Sterling families, things would have gotten very complicated!

”What do you mean ’she’ll be fine after a few days of rest’? Wyatt, you’re not just saying that because you’re worried I’ll hold Seraphina Sterling responsible, are you? Look at Shannon, she’s sweating from the pain! How can it not be serious?” Jay Gable didn’t believe him. He had never seen his sister cry like this before!

The usually gentle Wyatt Gallagher gave Jay Gable a sharp look. ”I’m a doctor, and I have professional ethics! If you don’t trust me, you can take her to the hospital for a check-up right now! Besides, even if something serious had happened to Shannon Gable, she brought it on herself! She’s an adult, not some little girl who doesn’t know any better. She should have known the consequences of pulling such a dangerous stunt while riding!”

At first, Shannon Gable had been gazing at Wyatt Gallagher with tender affection. Seeing how carefully he examined her injury, how gentle his movements were, how focused his eyes were, she felt that even getting hurt was worth it. But then she heard him blame her, and her heart went cold! In turn, her resentment for Seraphina Sterling grew even stronger. ’If she hadn’t shown up, I would never have ended up in this mess!’

”Seraphina Sterling, this isn’t over! I am a legitimate daughter of the Gable Family, and you’re just someone the Sterling Family brought back from the countryside! Do you really think the Sterling Family would make an enemy of the Gable Family for you? Especially when they’ve already provoked the Quinn Family?”

Enduring the pain from her wrist, Shannon Gable haughtily analyzed the situation for Seraphina.

”You’re a Gable, alright. But as for being a ’proper’ one... that’s not for you to decide!” Seraphina wasn’t afraid of her at all!

Gasping for breath, Shannon Gable was seething at Seraphina’s words. ”Don’t try to change the subject! You’re still in school and haven’t even joined the family company yet. You probably have no idea how bad the Sterling Family’s situation is right now. After offending the Quinn Family, The Sterling Group’s operations have been restricted at every turn. As long as the Quinns don’t back down, this will continue! If the Gable Family were to launch an all-out attack on the Sterling Family at a time like this, do you think your family could survive?”

Shannon Gable had already been working at her family’s company for some time and had a very clear understanding of the current landscape. That was why she dared to use such extreme methods to pressure Seraphina, even forcing her into a horse race against her will.
