A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 305: Chapter 305: Screwing Over Justin Hale (Part 1)

Hale Corporation’s tech division was plunged into a massive crisis, forcing Justin Hale to personally take charge. Only after stepping in did he realize just how serious the situation was. With less than two weeks until the software launch, a critical bug had been discovered—an issue with a one-in-ten-thousand probability of occurring!

The date for the launch event had already been set and absolutely could not be changed. Otherwise, the world would find out that Hale Corporation’s new software had a problem! If that news leaked, the resulting public speculation alone would be a massive crisis for the company. Even if Hale Corporation managed to fix the issue later, it would have already sown public distrust!

But to fix this massive bug within two weeks was an impossible task, even for a top-tier software development company like Hale Corporation—unless they could get their hands on some crucial data!

Justin Hale personally led the charge, working around the clock. He finally managed to patch the bug just before the software’s launch, allowing the new product release to proceed as scheduled.

Hale Corporation’s product launches were always lavish affairs held at top-tier venues and attended by premier media outlets. They also made a point of inviting other major companies from the industry, ostensibly for ”mutual exchange and industry development.” In reality, Hale Corporation’s true purpose was to flaunt their success and intimidate the competition. The message was crystal clear: ’Look at the new product we’ve developed. We’re leaving you in the dust again! All you can do is follow in our wake.’

Many of the nation’s software development companies had sent representatives. As they watched Kyle Warren on stage, looking sharp in his suit and carrying himself like a member of the corporate elite, the representatives all wore brilliant smiles. Inwardly, however, they were seething.

Everyone knew Kyle Warren. He had been one of the lead researchers at Keystone Technologies. The company owed a part of its success to his contributions. But no one had ever imagined that he would take his entire development team with him to Hale Corporation, where he was now the R&D manager.

Everyone in the audience from the R&D world knew the kind of damage a company suffers when a key researcher leaves, let alone when someone like Kyle Warren walks out with his entire team. To jump ship to Hale Corporation with his former company’s research findings... It was a low blow, a complete betrayal.

The other industry leaders looked at Chester Sykes with sympathy. Compared to him, their own companies were in a much better position. They had merely been outmaneuvered again—and by Hale Corporation, no less. While no one was happy about it, they had been surpassed by Hale Corporation so many times that they had grown numb to the feeling.

Though they pitied Chester Sykes for being betrayed by one of his own men and agreed that what Kyle Warren did was wrong, deep down, they couldn’t help but feel a bitter mix of envy and resentment toward him. This was Hale Corporation, after all—not just any company. To latch onto Hale Corporation was to be set for life. His career path from here on out was sure to be smooth sailing.

It’s every man for himself. The only one to blame was Chester Sykes for misjudging his character. In the world of business, anything could happen.

It looked like Keystone Technologies was done for. Both Keystone and Hale Corporation were focused on developing the same type of application software. Now, with Kyle Warren’s help, Hale Corporation had overcome its hurdles and launched first, rendering all of Keystone’s prior research obsolete. Not only had they lost a huge number of talented researchers, but they had also squandered an enormous amount of capital.

The company that was once the only one capable of competing with Hale Corporation in software R&D was now facing bankruptcy. A wave of sighs and quiet laments swept through the audience.

”This translation software, launched today, is designed to meet a wide range of user needs across every industry. It is the world’s first software capable of translating entire articles at once, breaking down the language barriers we all face. We invite you all to try it, and we welcome any and all feedback for our development team!” Kyle Warren concluded his speech with these words, his face beaming with the smile of a man who had made it.
