A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 307: Chapter 307: Screwing Over Justin Hale (3)

The smile on Kyle Warren’s face instantly froze. ’Chester Sykes isn’t that kind of person; he’s a stubborn mule. How could he possibly force a smile just to save face!’

Just then, Chester Sykes strode up to the podium where Kyle Warren had just been speaking. ”First, I’d like to congratulate Hale Corporation on their success today! To my fellow peers, to the members of the press, I’m not one for pleasantries. I admit it: Keystone Technologies has failed this time! As for what underhanded methods Hale Corporation used to win, I think everyone here is well aware, so I won’t elaborate.”

”The business world is a battlefield, full of deception—cruel and merciless. Hale Corporation won, which proves they were a cut above. I’m here today to announce only one thing: From this day forward, Keystone Technologies will no longer engage in any software development. Henceforth, Keystone Technologies will focus solely on electronic hardware. In two months, the reborn Keystone Technologies will bring everyone a massive surprise. Our products will undoubtedly change the way you all live!”

What was going on? Keystone Technologies was admitting defeat? Pulling out of software development?

’No, wait—Chester Sykes hadn’t gone bankrupt? He could still keep the company running! To be able to stay in business after such a massive crisis... Chester Sykes’s abilities are something else, aren’t they? It looks like he found an investor! I just wonder who his new backer is! Is that person insane? Who would dare to invest in a company like this?’

Standing on the stage, Chester Sykes saw the crowd’s shocked and shifting expressions and sneered inwardly. ’You’re already shocked by this? There’s something even more exciting to come!’

Chester Sykes held up the storage drive in his hand and glanced at Kyle Warren, who was putting on the airs of a successful man. ”In the development of this translation software, Keystone Technologies lost to Hale Corporation. Furthermore, since our company will no longer be developing software, we have decided to publicly release Keystone’s research findings and the program’s source code. Anyone who is interested is free to continue the research!”

After speaking, without even a glance at the crowd’s reaction, Chester Sykes held his head high and strode proudly out of the press conference venue. ’At this moment, I’m incredibly grateful to have partnered with Seraphina Sterling. If I hadn’t met her, Keystone Technologies would have likely declared bankruptcy! I, Chester Sykes, would have become a laughingstock among my peers! A true failure! Ridiculed by all!’

’But today, the ones who’ve become a joke are Hale Corporation! And Kyle Warren!’

Kyle Warren watched Chester Sykes’s retreating back, the smile long gone from his face, replaced by a deathly pallor. ’It’s over! It’s all over! My career, my future! Everything! It has all vanished with Chester Sykes’s decision!’

HOLY SHIT!

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!

What a move!

What a fucking power move!

He actually released the source code!

Releasing the source code was the same as revealing the software’s core secrets. The program Hale Corporation had spent a fortune to develop was now completely worthless! All of Hale Corporation’s prior investment had just gone down the drain! The software was now useless!

A true scorched-earth tactic! Keystone Technologies had suffered heavy losses because of this software, but now Hale Corporation wasn’t getting off easy either!

With this one move, Chester Sykes had ensured both companies would suffer.

Justin Hale, who had been monitoring the press conference from upstairs, now had a face as dark as thunder, wishing he could kill Chester Sykes! More than half a month of his efforts had been wasted! This incident was also a huge blow to their electronics and software R&D company. He had personally intervened back then precisely because the investment was so massive. To prevent the company from taking a loss, he had used a lucrative offer to poach Kyle Warren’s development team from Keystone Technologies, all to ensure the software would have a successful launch!

But now, Chester Sykes had pulled the rug right out from under them by releasing the source code, rendering Hale Corporation’s research results completely worthless! In a way, Hale Corporation’s losses were far greater than those of Keystone Technologies! And Keystone Technologies already had a new direction for R&D. They even used Hale Corporation’s own press conference to announce it—talk about great free advertising!
