A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 101: Chapter 101: Unexpected Complications

”What?” The psycho doctor didn’t say a word, questioning Seraphina Sterling with just a look.

Suddenly, Seraphina Sterling shoved him hard and dropped into a roll. A hail of bullets followed! The psycho doctor’s expression turned grim. ’How are there other people here? And they’re armed!’

’This is fucking bullshit. Our guns are loaded with blanks, but they’ve got live rounds! We’re just sitting ducks!’ ”What now?”

”Fight!” Seraphina Sterling said as she leaped into action. She kicked off a tree trunk, launching herself into the air. While airborne, she raised her gun and unleashed a wild spray of fire, instantly revealing the four attackers’ positions!

’Incredible!’

’What a beast!’

’You can even use blanks like that!’ The psycho doctor followed her lead, letting loose another rapid burst of fire. Caught in the chaotic barrage, the hidden attackers were all flushed out of their cover. Their objective was clear: concentrate all firepower on Seraphina Sterling. They completely ignored the psycho doctor.

Watching Seraphina Sterling weave and dodge through the attackers with ease—her agile form, swift attacks, and sharp reflexes—even the psycho doctor couldn’t help but marvel. ’Truly worthy of being the Young Master’s student. Not only is her marksmanship incredible, but her combat skills are also in a class of their own!’

’An assessment is one thing, but this is the Young Master’s student,’ he thought. ’I can’t let anything happen to her on my watch. If it does, I’ll be skinned alive, if not worse!’

The psycho doctor charged into the fray. With such a capable ally joining the fight, the attackers couldn’t gain an advantage, even with their superior numbers.

Watching the psycho doctor’s deadly-efficient moves, Seraphina Sterling’s perception of these people deepened once again. ’Terrence Grant’s identity must be more complicated than it seems. Otherwise, how could he be surrounded by so many people with such nimble skills!’

It was two against four.

Clearly, Seraphina Sterling’s side had the upper hand.

Just as the psycho doctor sent an attacker flying with a kick, Seraphina Sterling suddenly spotted another person in the distance. This person was also holding a gun. She decisively drew her own and aimed it—at the psycho doctor.

The psycho doctor spun around just in time to see it, and a corner of his mouth twitched. ”You can’t be serious. I’m helping you! Are you going to stab me in the back?”

Without a moment’s hesitation, Seraphina Sterling pulled the trigger! A pained cry echoed out as the person who was about to take a cheap shot was hit and collapsed.

The psycho doctor stared at the fallen figure in the distance, a wave of fear washing over him. ’If it weren’t for Seraphina Sterling’s shot, I’d be the one on the ground right now!’ But... ’aren’t our guns loaded with blanks?’

Seraphina Sterling held a small, compact pistol, a slight smile playing on her lips. ”Who sent you? What’s your objective?”

”Stop playing dumb. Hand it over if you know what’s good for you, or don’t blame us for what happens next!” a woman declared, stepping forward. She was clearly their leader.

”What thing? Are you sure you have the right person? I’m a nobody. I’m certain I don’t have anything on me worth you going to such great lengths for.” Even though the other party was speaking English, it didn’t hinder their communication at all.

”The bracelet! An Ancient Jade Bracelet!” The woman clicked the safety off her gun. If Seraphina Sterling made a single dangerous move, she would fire without hesitation.

’The Jade Bracelet Zion gave me at the auction?’ ’Looks like this bracelet has quite the story behind it! You want the Jade Bracelet? Fine. Have your boss come see me in person. Otherwise, no deal!’

’Damn!’

’So badass!’

’Daring to provoke them under these circumstances... she really is the Young Master’s student. So arrogant! I love it!’

”Aren’t you afraid I’ll put a bullet in you?” The woman’s expression was grim.

”You think you’re faster than me? Let me tell you something. When it comes to guns, aside from King, I’m not afraid of anyone.” Seraphina Sterling’s brilliant eyes blazed with a powerful aura. That arrogance, that defiance—she learned it all from Terrence Grant. And she was every bit his equal, if not more so.

’King?’ The color drained from the woman’s face. That single name made the atmosphere instantly tense.

Even the psycho doctor was stunned by Seraphina Sterling’s words. ’Did I hear that right? Did she just say King? As in, the legendary marksman, King?’

”You think I’d believe you?” Though shaken, the woman forced herself to remain calm. ’I have to complete this mission!’

”You can try me.” As she spoke, Seraphina Sterling fired two shots in the blink of an eye. BANG! BANG! The two men closest to the woman were each hit in the shoulder.

By the time the woman snapped out of it and tried to pull the trigger, Seraphina Sterling’s gun was already aimed at her again.

”Still think I’m bluffing?”

This time, the woman was genuinely afraid. She had never seen anyone shoot that fast. ’If I had been her target, I’d be the one on the ground!’ Seeing her three injured teammates, her expression hardened with resolve.

”I admit, you’re a phenomenal shot. But no matter how good you are, you’re still just one person. Do you really think you can take on the three of us by yourself?”

Seraphina Sterling broke into a warm smile, her two dimples appearing. She would have looked utterly sweet and harmless, if not for the gun in her hand. ”A moment ago, you did have the advantage in numbers. But now? I’m not so sure.”

”You’ve been stalling for time!” The woman ground her teeth. ’This woman is so calculating! To be able to think so clearly and plan a counter-strategy in a situation like this!’

”You’re sharp,” Seraphina Sterling said, her smile growing even brighter. ”Tell your boss that if he wants the Jade Bracelet, he should come to me himself. And tell him to stop with these pathetic little tricks. If I get annoyed, I might just smash the Jade Bracelet to pieces. Don’t come crying to me when that happens.”

The woman shot Seraphina Sterling one last hateful glare before quickly retreating with her team.
