I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 157: Chapter 111: The Black Bear Spirit Wants to Open a Fruit Store

Now that the project for the black bear to sell fruit was confirmed, Zhang Lin gave Lin Mengyao her instructions. ”Mengyao, your HR department will need to follow up on this. Build a stall, and remember to make the enclosure for the bear and horse nice and spacious.”

”Coordinate with the operations department on the specifics. You can get Liu De to build the stall. As for printing the anime signs, I’ll send you the contact information for Millennium Advertising on WeChat. You get in touch with them.”

”Okay, President Zhang!” Lin Mengyao nodded.

After receiving her assignment, she immediately returned to her office. She called in two HR employees, assigning one to coordinate with the operations department and the other to liaise with Master Liu from the farm labor department.

She opened WeChat and saw that President Zhang had sent her the phone number for Millennium Advertising.

Online, the hype surrounding the Black Bear Spirit and the White Dragon Horse was growing ever higher.

However, the buzz started to die down after just one day.

A full day and night had passed without any new videos, and no matter how much hype there was, it was difficult to maintain.

As a result, many fans following the Black Bear Spirit and the White Dragon Horse felt it was a shame. They even flooded the comments on Li Yuan Farm’s Tiao Yin account, begging for more videos of the bear and the horse.

Yuan Bingbing and Lin Lele, two best friends, were among them.

”Ugh, why won’t Li Yuan Farm post more videos of the Black Bear Spirit and the White Dragon Horse?” Yuan Bingbing complained, pouting after leaving a comment on their page.

She was the one who had posted the video of the Black Bear Spirit stealing the Kasaya and leading away the White Dragon Horse. After it went viral, she felt a huge sense of accomplishment and had developed a strange fondness for the bear and the horse.

She’d figured that with all this hype, Li Yuan Farm would definitely post more videos of the bear-and-horse duo. But who would have thought they’d go completely silent for a full day and night?

”Huh? Li Yuan Farm just posted an announcement—they’re recruiting an animal keeper. It must be to take care of the Black Bear Spirit and the White Dragon Horse, right?” Lin Lele said suddenly from beside her. ”Bingbing, what do you think about us applying?”

”Really?” Yuan Bingbing immediately leaned in closer.

After all, they were graduates with a major in animal husbandry from an agriculture and forestry program. The job was a perfect match.

Besides, they felt like it was a sign from heaven. Otherwise, why else would they have been placed in this major, been unable to find a job after graduation, and then happened to run into the Black Bear Spirit while visiting Li Yuan Farm?

They had originally gone there just for the Flower Sea, after all.

Then they shot a video, uploaded it, and it just happened to go viral.

That’s girls for you—emotional creatures. Once they set their minds on something, they can find a reason for anything.

For this reason, they hadn’t left You City. They had even booked a tent at the campsite for two more days, just for the chance to film another video of the Black Bear Spirit and the White Dragon Horse.

Just then, Lin Lele cried out again in surprise, ”Bingbing, quick, look at Li Yuan Farm’s newest video! In two days, the Black Bear Spirit is going to open a fruit stall at Li Yuan Farm!”

Yuan Bingbing was bewildered. ’How could a bear open a fruit stall?’

She immediately opened Li Yuan Farm’s Tiao Yin account and, sure enough, saw a new video. The title read: ”Li Yuan Farm’s Newest Project Teaser!”

She tapped on the video, and a voiceover began: ”In two days, Li Yuan Farm will welcome a new proprietor. It will be opening its own stall at the farm to sell fruit. It is... the Black Bear Spirit!”

”That’s it?” Yuan Bingbing was dumbfounded after watching the video.

’The bear didn’t even make an appearance, and the video’s already over?’

But she had to admit, her curiosity was thoroughly piqued.

After all, how exactly was a bear supposed to run a fruit stall?

It wasn’t just them. Online, all the fans and netizens who saw the project teaser video had their curiosity piqued as well.

Everyone wanted to know how a bear could run a fruit stall. ’It’s not going to be one of those old tourist-trap tricks, is it? Where they just park an animal next to the stall while a regular employee does the selling, and they call that the animal’s stall?’

That would just be treating everyone like a fool.

But Li Yuan Farm had only released this short clip with a voiceover, leaving everyone itching with curiosity. People flooded the comments with questions and even started heated discussions.

This was a classic example of scarcity marketing. The result was that this incredibly simple project teaser went viral.

Meanwhile, back at Li Yuan Farm, everything was proceeding in an orderly fashion.

Led by Lin Mengyao, Zhang Lin arrived at the stall being prepared for the Black Bear Spirit.

The site was located behind the office center and covered several hundred square meters. A large fence formed the perimeter, and just outside it was a platform for displaying the fruit.

Anime-style posters depicting the Black Bear Spirit’s great battle with Sun Wukong were plastered all over the fence and the platform.

There were also signs explaining why the Black Bear Spirit was opening a stall, using the story that Lin Muxue had come up with.

These had all been produced by Millennium Advertising.

Upon receiving the order from Li Yuan Farm, Lin Yao had once again completed the job with incredible speed.

The fruit stall was topped with a bamboo roof to provide protection from sun and rain.

Just then, Lin Mengyao’s phone rang.

After answering it, she reported to Zhang Lin, ”President Zhang, two young women are here to apply for the keeper position for Xiaohai and Bailong. Would you like to meet them?”

”Let’s go,” Zhang Lin nodded.

The two of them headed to the office center together.

Xiaohai and Bailong were no ordinary animals, and he figured there might be more special animal rewards in the future. For that reason, he had decided to hire two professional keepers dedicated to looking after them.

Later on, he would also need to find a dedicated veterinarian.

When they arrived at the office center and he saw the two applicants, he was somewhat surprised.

Both of them were the adorable, moe-type.
