I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 156: Chapter 110: Do You Believe I’m a Black Bear Spirit?

X + (-X) = 0.

X - (-X) = 2X.

Sister: Sis, what does that mean?

Lin Muxue: Figure it out yourself!

She was just about to put her phone away when Liu Qian rushed over. ”Lin, our farm is trending big time again, and it’s even sparked a new hashtag!”

”We only posted two videos today. Which one is it?” Lin Muxue asked with a smile.

Li Yuan Farm’s current popularity had already built up a stable base of online traffic. With this dedicated audience, it wasn’t hard for any decent-quality video to get popular. Their chances of trending in a major way were much higher than most.

But the two videos posted today were just to maintain their buzz—routine content to stay visible to their fans. She hadn’t expected one to blow up like this.

Liu Qian quickly explained, ”It wasn’t one of our videos. It was posted by a tourist!”

Hearing this, Lin Muxue’s brow furrowed. ”Did President Zhang pull another stunt without telling the operations department beforehand?”

’That was her immediate thought.’

After all, it wasn’t easy to trend in a major way, let alone generate a whole new discussion topic. The tourist wasn’t some famous influencer with a built-in audience. If they were just piggybacking on Li Yuan Farm’s fame by filming something that had been covered countless times before, there’s no way it would have blown up like this.

There was only one explanation: something new and captivating had appeared at Li Yuan Farm, something that hadn’t been filmed much yet.

”Lin, just watch the video. We all think this is unbelievable,” Liu Qian said, handing over her phone.

Lin Muxue took one look at the video and froze.

The title alone was striking.

’Black Bear Spirit? White Dragon Horse? What the hell?’

’Since when is Journey to the West involved with our farm?’

When she played the video, she was dumbfounded. It showed a bear wearing a Kasaya, leading a white horse, and roller-skating right into the office building. A girl’s breathless exclamation could be heard in the background: ”The Black Bear Spirit stole Tang Monk’s Kasaya and the White Dragon Horse, and even Nezha’s Wind-Fire Wheels!”

Lin Muxue hadn’t made the connection at first, but that exclamation suddenly made the whole scene feel richer and more amusing.

’Isn’t that just perfect?’

Even if comparing the roller skates to Wind-Fire Wheels was a bit of a stretch.

The description was surprisingly fitting, and it was clear from the comments that almost everyone who saw the video agreed:

”HOLY SHIT, I thought an animal had become a spirit! Oh wait, it’s the Black Bear Spirit. Never mind, that makes sense!”

”Looks like Tang Monk won’t be completing his journey to the west now.”

”So Journey to the West got it wrong! The Black Bear Spirit successfully stole the Kasaya and made off with the White Dragon Horse too!”

”Wu Chengen: Fine, I guess we’re doing spin-offs now, are we?”

”...”

Lin Muxue watched the video again. It was hard to believe a bear could roller-skate so smoothly. More importantly, shouldn’t a horse be terrified of a bear?

She knew the farm had a white horse.

But she had no idea when they’d gotten a black bear.

President Zhang hadn’t said a word about it.

”Let’s head back to the office and see what’s going on.” After returning the phone to Liu Qian, Lin Muxue hurried out of the North Campground.

Although President Zhang had once again left her operations team in the dark, forcing them to react, she had to admit that even if they had tried to create a promotional video, it likely wouldn’t have been as effective as this spontaneous clip.

The girl in the video had perfectly established the ”Black Bear Spirit stealing the Kasaya and the White Dragon Horse” persona.

It was an unexpected but welcome result.

The farm could easily capitalize on this, fleshing out the persona even more to generate hype.

That wouldn’t be difficult at all.

When Lin Muxue and Liu Qian arrived back at the office building, they saw the white horse dozing in the courtyard. The clicking of their high heels seemed to wake it. The horse lifted its head, gave them a lazy glance, and then went back to drowsing.

They had to admit, though, that the horse was gorgeous. Its coat was snow-white, and it had a majestic air, truly befitting the name White Dragon Horse.

They entered the open-plan work area and, before they even reached Zhang Lin’s office, saw a small crowd gathered outside one of the offices. It was a mix of new HR recruits and a couple of girls from their own operations team.

Stepping closer, they saw President Zhang inside, teaching something to the black bear, which was still wearing the Kasaya. Basins of fruit were arranged around them, with Lin Mengyao assisting him.

Curious, Lin Muxue walked inside.

The people gathered outside immediately greeted her respectfully.

”President Lin!”

”Lin!”

”...”

Lin Muxue nodded in acknowledgment and, once inside, asked Lin Mengyao, ”Mengyao, what is President Zhang up to?”

Lin Mengyao replied instinctively, ”President Zhang is setting up a special fruit stall. He’s going to have the bear sell fruit. Oh, right, his name is Xiaohai!”

”Xiaohai!” Lin Muxue resisted the urge to comment on the unoriginal name. She was too taken aback by Zhang Lin’s plan. ”Have a bear sell fruit? Is that even possible?”

As she said this, she noticed President Zhang had even hung a WeChat QR payment code around the bear’s neck.

’Is he for real?’

”Muxue, why don’t you try taking some fruit from the table?” Zhang Lin said with a smile.

Beside him, Lin Mengyao also gave her a look, as if wanting to say something but holding her tongue.

This made her even more curious. She reached out to take some fruit from the table. The moment her hand touched the fruit, the black bear scrambled over and held the QR code right up in front of her.

The sudden movement made her yelp, completely stunned.

’What’s this? Is it telling me to pay?’

Seeing her reaction, Lin Mengyao and the girls watching from outside burst into gleeful laughter.

That’s when it clicked. She took out her phone, scanned the QR code the bear was holding, and paid 10 yuan.

Instantly, a voice alert played from a device on the bear: ”WeChat payment received: 10 yuan!”

The Little Black Bear clearly heard the sound. It immediately lowered the QR code, ran back to Zhang Lin, and squatted in front of him, grinning with bright, expectant eyes.

It looked just like it was asking, ’Did I do a good job?’

Zhang Lin smiled, patted the bear’s head, and praised, ”Good job, Xiaohai.”

After getting praised, the Little Black Bear broke into an even wider grin, like a child unable to contain their smile after a compliment.

Lin Muxue was completely mesmerized by the scene.

’It can actually do that?’

’This bear is way too smart. I’m starting to wonder if it’s the actual reincarnation of the Black Bear Spirit. That would explain why it likes wearing a Kasaya... maybe the Meng Po Soup didn’t quite work, and it still remembers the Brocade Kasaya from its past life?’

’I never really thought having a bear run a fruit stall would actually work,’ Zhang Lin was amazed as well. ’The +1 Intelligence attribute really gave me a huge surprise.’

’I didn’t even have to teach it for long before Xiaohai understood. Its comprehension isn’t perfect yet, but I feel like its intelligence already surpasses that of many young children. I should find a tutor to teach it math when I have the time.’

’If it’s going to run a fruit stall, it needs to know how to keep the books, right?’

After her initial shock wore off, Lin Muxue realized that this Little Black Bear had the potential to become an internet celebrity. She asked instinctively, ”President Zhang, are all its permits in order?”

Zhang Lin smiled. ”Don’t worry, Muxue. The little guy’s permits and documents are all in order. I’m planning to set up an ’animal fruit stall’—not to make money, but just to add a bit of whimsical charm to the farm and give tourists another spot to take pictures. I’ll have to trouble your team to put some thought into promoting it.”

Hearing this, Lin Muxue couldn’t help but tease, ”Why would I need to rack my brain to promote this? It’s already a massive hit, and the netizens have already created the whole Black Bear Spirit persona for it. We just need to ride the wave.”

”We’ll put a big sign at the fruit stall with cartoon versions of the Black Bear Spirit from Journey to the West and Sun Wukong’s group. The scene will be the Black Bear Spirit, clutching the Kasaya, being chased by Sun Wukong, Pigsy, and Sha Wujing. Hmm, we could even add Nezha in there!”

”Then we’ll write a caption: ’I, the Black Bear Spirit, was gravely injured in a great battle with Sun Wukong and his brothers while trying to steal the Kasaya and the White Dragon Horse. Now, I’m unable to resume my true form, so I’ve come to Li Yuan Farm to sell fruit and raise funds for some Healing Medicine. I hope all you kind passersby will buy some fruit to support my cause. Once I’ve recovered, I will surely repay your kindness!’”

”We can also make a little hat for him with a small sign that says, ’Do you believe I’m the real Black Bear Spirit?’”

”If we have the resources, we should get an animated video made, too. We could play it on a loop on a screen next to the stall.”

Hearing her ideas, Zhang Lin couldn’t help but give Lin Muxue a big thumbs-up.

Her plan had a lot of potential, and best of all, it was simple to execute. When the time came, they could have Xiaohai stand guard by the fruit stall with the White Dragon Horse. Paired with all these props, it would create a fantastic scene.

Plus, tourists would feel like they were part of the story, and it would add a layer of playful humor.

But Lin Mengyao and the other girls who were gathered around just looked at each other, an overwhelming sense of familiarity washing over them.

’Do you believe I’m Qin Shi Huang?’

’Holy shit...!’
