I Died and Became a Noble's Heir

Chapter 751: Jack vs. The Red Herald I

Oscar’s four-bladed cross-tip remained embedded deep within the Herald’s chest, the spear shaft angled at a vicious forty-five degree angle that made withdrawal impossible without catastrophic tearing.

Steaming, luminescent blood poured from the wound in torrents that seemed to have no beginning and no end, coating the barren wasteland in fluid that sizzled against the stone.

The notification cascaded through Jack’s consciousness, weighted with absolute certainty. The Herald shrieked, a sound that transcended pain and entered the realm of something deeper. A primal recognition of mortality made manifest.

[-6,173 HP]

The Madness form was consuming him from the inside out, his own circulatory system cannibalizing his health at a rate that would have killed any normal creature in seconds.

But Jack was not normal.

The black veins pulsing across his white skin carried mana density that exceeded conventional limits. His heart contracted in rhythms that shouldn’t have been possible, forcing blood through vessels that burned with demonic intensity.

Demonic Mastery activated, drawing on reserves of life force that existed in dimensions most creatures couldn’t perceive.

The regen ticked upward, offsetting the drain, creating a careful balance between consumption and restoration that kept Jack operating at the knife’s edge of sustainability.

Jack’s vertical slit pupils tracked the Herald’s movements with absolute precision. The creature was attempting to retreat, its massive wings extending despite the agony radiating from its impaled torso.

Every muscle fiber in Jack’s body tensed with anticipation, hunger, and something that transcended simple combat desire and entered the realm of genuine addiction to violence.

He raised his free hand and snapped his fingers.

The gesture was simple. A flick of his wrist, a sharp movement that displaced air and created a pressure wave visible to anyone watching closely.

But the action carried weight that transcended the physical movement. It was a command, delivered with absolute authority to creatures bound to his will through contracts written in death itself.

One of Jack’s bound dragons materialized overhead.

The creature was massive, a war-dragon, the color of burnished steel, its scales bearing the accumulated scars of centuries spent in combat.

It descended rapidly, wings folded against its body to minimize air resistance, claws extended as if preparing for an attack that would never come.

The wind displaced by its passage carved furrows into the stone ground. The air molecules themselves seemed to compress under the force of its descent.

Jack’s consciousness fractured into multiple layers of processing.

His hands moved with mechanical precision, gripping the blood chains and initiating the casting sequence for his next skill.

The spatial distortion around him grew in intensity. The air around his body began to shimmer, warp, and bend under the pressure of dimensional forces that transcended normal physics.

The temperature fluctuated wildly as reality itself began to reject his presence in this location.

The Herald saw what was coming and attempted to yank Oscar free from its chest. But the spear was lodged too deeply, embedded with such force that removing it would require tearing through layers of muscle and bone that had taken millennia to develop.

The creature’s claws secured a grip on the shaft and pulled with a desperation born of absolute terror, but to no avail.

Jack snapped his fingers and was transported to a new location.

He materialized directly beneath the descending dragon.

The spatial displacement created a sonic boom that cracked the air itself, a physical manifestation of reality tearing to accommodate his passage.

The Herald remained in its original position, but now Jack’s position relative to it had inverted.

The dragon was where Jack was, the Herald was rising, and Oscar’s shaft connected them across a distance of thirty meters of open air.

The Chain of the Soverign accelerated.

Oscar was pulled across the Herald’s body with the force of a whip.

The spear shaft traced a line of devastation from the creature’s chest outward, carving through scales and tissue, leaving a trail of ichor that painted the air in luminescent arcs.

The blade remained embedded in the Herald’s chest, but now it was being yanked at an angle that threatened to dislocate entire sections of the creature’s internal structure.

The sensation of bone grinding against the spear’s edge traveled directly into Jack’s consciousness.

The visceral feedback was exquisite.

The texture of superior draconic bone resisting the rotation before ultimately surrendering to superior force, the acoustic phenomenon of tearing tissue transmitting up the shaft, and the electromagnetic distortion created by mana being forcibly disconnected from its biological anchor.

The dragon Jack had exchanged positions with shrieked, a sound of impact as it collided with the ground where Jack had previously stood.

The earth crater expanded outward from the impact point, stone fracturing in geometric patterns that radiated from the center like ripples through still water.

Dust clouds erupted in all directions, casting shadows that made the entire battlefield seem to flicker between light and darkness.

The debris was coarse enough that it tasted like copper and iron when Jack inhaled, the metallic flavor coating his throat and mixing with the blood that was already present in his mouth from the Madness form’s constant physiological strain.

Jack lifted his hand and yanked the chain upward with everything his demonic form could generate.

The Herald was forcefully dislodged from its position by an extraordinary, non-conventional physical phenomenon.

His massive frame was pulled skyward with violence that should have been impossible to generate without machinery or catastrophic natural disasters.

The creature’s wings flapped desperately, attempting to compensate for the upward force, but the angle of the pull made resistance futile.

He was being dragged through the air like a fish on a line, the Herald’s body twisting as Jack applied lateral force to the chain, creating tension that threatened to tear the embedded blade free and take chunks of the creature’s internal organs with it.

The sensation traveled up the spear shaft directly into Jack’s hands.

A tactile feedback of absolute resistance meeting absolute force, of physics bending under the pressure of demonic will.

His palms burned where they gripped the chain.

The pressure was immense, enough to pulverize normal human hands into useless meat.

Jack’s demonic physiology absorbed the impact, transformed it into fuel for the continued assault.

Tharaxis’s voice cut through the roaring adrenaline like a frozen blade, perfectly articulated but nearly drowned out by the intoxicating thrill of the slaughter.

’The creature’s structural integrity has collapsed at multiple critical thresholds. His fear is a systemic virus, Jack. It is choking his neural pathways and delaying his counterattack by fatal fractions of a second. Strike now. This is the mathematically perfect moment for execution.’

Emberion’s response erupted right on his heels, a raw, suffocating wave of primal malice that set Jack’s veins on fire.

’Tear him to pieces! Bury your fingers in his chest, shatter his ribs, and rip that beating heart straight out of his throat! I want to taste his terror through your teeth, Jack. Make that pathetic worm watch you swallow his life whole before he rots!’

Oscar’s voice suddenly erupted through the telepathic link, dripping with a manic, dark amusement that bordered on a twisted kind of genuine affection.

{Oh, fuck yes, Jack! This is absolutely fantastic! I am flying through the air like some kind of beautifully demented javelin, and I’ve gotta tell you… The rush of ripping through this scaly bastard’s chest cavity is better than a wild, breathless night with a pair of high-class Elven twins! I am practically sweating over here!}

{The structures of his mana are refracting light in ways that would make a goddess weep! I can see everything in here. The way his organs are arranged, the sheer biomechanical complexity, the gorgeous, pulsing patterns of his circulatory system! It’s an absolute masterpiece. This is the kind of filthy, high-tier experience that makes an existence worthwhile! Jack, you magnificent, unhinged bastard… This isn’t just a slaughter, this is straight-up art! Now put me back in the game before I lose my mind!}
