74: Section 74“We can still use the plagiarism strategy you mentioned before, Mr. Ma, to maintain the user gap between the two.”

As soon as these words were spoken, many people in the room looked at Old Ma, sharing the same thought.

Old Ma sighed softly.

“Currently, there’s a large overlap in the user base of Taobao and Pinduoduo.”

“While many users don’t mind using two shopping apps and will shop on both, there’s also a large number of users who aren’t in the habit of using two apps with the same function.”

“In other words, in the coming period, a significant number of users will choose to uninstall one of the two shopping apps, keeping only the other.”

At this point, Old Ma looked at everyone in the conference room.

“And what do you think?”

“Given the current public sentiment, is it more likely these users will uninstall Pinduoduo, or uninstall Taobao?”

As Old Ma’s words fell, silence immediately descended upon the room.

Everyone present was well aware that after the various activities and comparisons between the two apps, Pinduoduo’s reputation was now significantly better than Taobao’s.

If these overlapping user groups were to keep only one app, then that app would likely only be Pinduoduo.

At the same time, Old Ma’s voice continued to resonate.

“I’ve already had someone specifically estimate it. Looking at the current reputation of the two apps, Taobao’s uninstall rate will definitely be far greater than Pinduoduo’s.”

“In other words,” Old Ma paused, “Taobao’s current 60 million lead will probably drop to 40 million.”

At this, the conference room fell silent once more.

After a long while, the Taobao Manager’s voice finally sounded again.

“With a 40 million user base, if Pinduoduo launches another large-scale event, they might just catch up to us.”

Old Ma nodded, agreeing with the Taobao Manager’s words.

“Taobao has been around for over ten years. I don’t want to be defeated by an app that’s been out for less than a year.”

“Therefore,” Old Ma’s expression turned serious as he slowly looked at everyone in the room, “Taobao’s operational strategy must not have any issues in the coming period.”

“For any variety show or TV series that has the potential to become a hit, Taobao must be the primary sponsor.”

“No matter what sudden moves Pinduoduo makes, Taobao must immediately follow suit and replicate them percentage-wise.”

“Should a situation similar to the Spring Festival Gala arise again, we must also figure out Pinduoduo’s true objective and intercept it.”

Old Ma paused. “We must also be the first to seize any potential traffic opportunities in the internet and Yan Country!”

“Only then can we maintain our leading position against Pinduoduo.”

After Old Ma finished speaking, the expressions of everyone in the room also became much more serious.

They looked at each other and then nodded earnestly.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Ma, we will definitely block Pinduoduo’s offensive… They will never be able to surpass us and become the market leader!”

In the following period, Taobao’s senior management held multiple meetings on how to seize the upcoming traffic opportunities.

However, what they never expected was that a huge traffic opportunity in Yan Country would soon arrive.

wolf warrior 2, shortly after its release, directly ignited a terrifying movie-watching frenzy in Yan Country.

This was the first time such a phenomenon-level commercial blockbuster had appeared in Yan Country.

In just over ten days, as wolf warrior 2’s reputation fermented, its box office index surged wildly.

It then successively became the fastest film to break seven hundred million, eight hundred million, and nine hundred million.

Every time wolf warrior 2 reached a box office bracket, it would break all existing box office records for that bracket.

Then, in just twenty-four days, wolf warrior 2’s box office reached an unprecedented five billion!

Ultimately, wolf warrior 2’s box office settled at the figure of 5.7 billion.

Such terrifying data and miracles had never been seen in any previous Yan Country film.

As wolf warrior 2 became a nationwide sensation, its lead actor, Wu Jin, instantly became a key figure in the spotlight.

All at once, countless invitations for variety shows and advertisements were placed before Wu Jin.

Even a casual Weibo post by Wu Jin during the Spring Festival could directly trend on hot searches.

If previous traffic opportunities were specific events, then during the period of wolf warrior 2’s release, Wu Jin himself had already become the largest source of traffic in Yan Country.

Even the Wu Jin of Wang Mo’s previous life had not received such immense attention.

Under these circumstances, Taobao, which was already seeking traffic opportunities, quickly set its sights on Wu Jin.

In the wake of the recently concluded Spring Festival season, inside Taobao’s chairman’s office:

“Mr. Ma, Wu Jin’s national popularity has now exploded to an unprecedented and exaggerated degree.”

“And Wu Jin’s every word and action are now being watched by countless people.”

“According to our investigation, Wu Jin has also taken on a large number of variety shows in the short term, which will give him immense exposure.”

“If he can become Taobao’s spokesperson, it will likely bring us enormous traffic.”

“You should know that Wu Jin has never endorsed any advertisements before.”

“The gimmick of Wu Jin’s first-ever advertising endorsement, combined with his current attention and traffic, will certainly make Taobao’s attention explode as well.”

Listening to his secretary’s words, Old Ma simultaneously looked at the information about Wu Jin in front of him.

It detailed how high Wu Jin’s endorsement feedback ratio currently was.

“Good,” Old Ma slowly said, “Let’s get him to endorse Taobao. This time, perhaps we can pull ahead of Pinduoduo again.”

Listening to Old Ma’s voice, the secretary, however, shook his head.

“Mr. Ma, this matter is not as simple as you think.”

“It’s not just us who are paying attention to Wu Jin; almost all major domestic enterprises want a piece of Wu Jin’s traffic.”

“Countless companies have already approached Wu Jin for endorsement and been rejected.”

“If our Taobao wants Wu Jin to become our spokesperson, we probably need him to see our sincerity.”

“Moreover, Taobao has never had any contact with Wu Jin before, so directly contacting him might be a bit abrupt.”

After hearing the secretary’s words, Old Ma fell silent for a moment. He thought of someone.
