You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

59: Section 59One hundred thousand viewers and three hours, but in the end, they still couldn’t get the 800 yuan from Taobao.

Although not all 100,000 users helped the streamer, at least several thousands did.

But even so, A Niu still failed to get the boost.

This Weibo post almost instantly brought the event’s popularity to its peak.

”They said it could be successfully boosted; is this what you meant by ’can’?”

”I even thought Taobao had changed, becoming like Pinduoduo, giving benefits to users, but it was just a joke.”

”If a streamer with 100,000 viewers couldn’t get a successful boost, then what’s the point of us trying to boost?”

”Compared to Pinduoduo’s Red Envelopes, Taobao’s Red Envelopes are a joke.”

As the matter escalated, more and more users became dissatisfied with Taobao’s boosted Red Envelopes.

So, a few hours later, Taobao hastily took down the activity and compensated all participating users with a 20-yuan unconditional coupon.

Such a small compensation undoubtedly reignited users’ anger.

In a short period, Taobao’s uninstallation rate exceeded tens of millions.

This activity not only failed to bring any positive impact to Taobao but also caused a loss of many users, and its reputation plummeted.

In reality, the Red Envelope funds Taobao prepared were not much less than Pinduoduo’s, and indeed, many people successfully received Taobao’s Red Envelopes.

But the key was that Taobao made a complete mistake in its specific activity decisions; it made it impossible for most people to receive the Red Envelope, with only a small number able to succeed.

And whether one could succeed was already predetermined the moment these users clicked into the page.

Even afterward, the few people who successfully received Red Envelopes spoke out, but their voices were drowned out by the majority of angry users.

After this failed activity, Taobao became quiet for the next few days.

However, as the Double Eleven date approached, Pinduoduo finally announced that it would create the Yan Country’s first online shopping festival!

Chapter 62: Shopping Festival Coming Soon! The Eve of Making History! (Tomorrow on shelves, please subscribe!)

November 5th.

Just as the negative popularity of Taobao’s boosted Red Envelopes had not completely subsided, a message released by Pinduoduo’s official account instantly topped the weibo hot search.

Pinduoduo grandly announced that to celebrate this year’s Double Eleven Singles Day, it would for the first time launch an online shopping festival.

At that time, countless big-brand goods would be heavily discounted, appearing at unprecedented low prices.

Eighty percent of the goods on Pinduoduo would be discounted on that day!

And under this Weibo post, Pinduoduo also released the prices of several items participating in the shopping festival, which were more than one-third cheaper than their usual prices!

This news quickly attracted the attention of countless people.

After all, let alone online shopping festivals, offline shopping festivals have rarely appeared in Yan Country.

And Pinduoduo also guaranteed that the goods in this shopping festival would be at their lowest prices for at least six months, and if any lower-priced goods appeared elsewhere within six months, Pinduoduo would provide an unconditional full refund.

This guarantee undoubtedly made many people curious about this shopping festival.

In just a few hours, Pinduoduo’s Weibo post attracted hundreds of thousands of comments.

”Is it real or fake? The Hundred Billion Subsidy is already very cheap; can this shopping festival be even cheaper?”

”I’ve never heard of an online shopping festival before; can it even be done this way?”

”I was wondering how to celebrate Singles Day this Double Eleven, but now it seems I can buy a few pairs of shoes.”

”That’s interesting; I was just about to get a new phone, but now it seems I can wait until Double Eleven.”

At the same time, as Pinduoduo announced the launch of the online shopping festival, Douyin also began to promote and publicize Pinduoduo’s shopping festival intensely.

A few days ago, Douyin’s promotional content for Double Eleven Singles Day had all changed to promote the shopping festival.

And many big-brand products that were going to be discounted during Double Eleven also began to promote the shopping festival’s discounts on their official websites or official media to increase sales.

Meanwhile, Pinduoduo also announced that it would launch a series of full-reduction coupons.

As long as users logged in to Douyin or Pinduoduo daily and completed some simple small tasks, they could receive full-reduction coupons that could be used on any Pinduoduo product.

However, these full-reduction coupons could only be used on Double Eleven itself and would expire afterward.

Under Douyin’s intense promotion, in just two or three days, almost the entire internet knew that Pinduoduo would hold a shopping festival on Double Eleven.

And Pinduoduo’s various marketing activities continued to be launched before Double Eleven, completely whetting users’ appetites.

Various full-reduction and discount coupons were also continuously distributed during these two days.

At the same time, Taobao naturally noticed Pinduoduo’s actions.

It was at this point that they realized that the Double Eleven Singles Day that Douyin had been intensely promoting not long ago was all a prelude to the shopping festival.

But even though they now knew Pinduoduo’s purpose, it was already too late, and they couldn’t do anything.

After all, when Pinduoduo announced it would hold the shopping festival, there was only one week left until Double Eleven.

Such a short time was not enough for Taobao to negotiate discounts with manufacturers.

Not to mention that most of the merchants participating in Pinduoduo’s shopping festival, similar to those in the Hundred Billion Subsidy, had signed exclusive agreements with Pinduoduo.

Even if Taobao wanted to do something, the Red Envelope activity that had damaged their reputation two days prior made it difficult for them to act freely now.

It was likely that whatever they did in the recent period would be met with widespread criticism from countless users.

However, even so, there was no anxiety within Taobao.

Because in their minds, this so-called Double Eleven Shopping Festival would not cause any significant stir.

It should be known that this shopping festival could be artificially designated; Pinduoduo had simply given it the title of a shopping festival.

This act of forcibly creating a shopping festival out of thin air, in Taobao’s view, would have no effect whatsoever.

At most, it would only increase transaction volume by a few tens of percent.

So, even though Pinduoduo was intensely marketing the shopping festival, Taobao made no moves.

And with the efforts of Pinduoduo and Douyin, this Double Eleven Shopping Festival quickly gained attention across almost the entire internet.

Under such circumstances, time also slowly passed.

Time quickly arrived at the day before Double Eleven.

At this moment.
