You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

55: Section 55At the same time, Taobao was still discussing internally whether to hold more events.

The meeting that day lasted until nine in the evening.

Meanwhile, the next day, Pinduoduo’s Hundred Billion Subsidy was officially launched.

Wang Mo also, uncharacteristically, bought a weibo hot search related to the Hundred Billion Subsidy that day.

On the same day, Junzi Group began a massive promotion of Pinduoduo, and several Douyin live-streaming influencers also joined Pinduoduo, starting to sell products there.

Originally, many people thought that the effect of Douyin influencers directly selling on a shopping app wouldn’t be very good.

After all, people who watch Douyin live streams might not necessarily like watching live streams on Pinduoduo.

But no one expected that the effect of Pinduoduo’s live-streaming sales was no worse than selling on Douyin, also achieving explosive sales.

However, what more people valued was Pinduoduo’s Hundred Billion Subsidy.

Within a few hours of its launch, the Hundred Billion Subsidy received countless positive reviews, and sales continued to soar.

Under the Hundred Billion Subsidy’s weibo hot search, positive comments constantly appeared, and this purchased hot search even climbed to the third position!

”Holy cow, it’s true! I just asked Apple’s official customer service, and the Apple products on Pinduoduo are genuine!”

”I’ve been looking at a camera for a long time but couldn’t bring myself to buy it. Just now, I saw it was several hundred cheaper on Pinduoduo and placed the order directly!”

”Enough said, from now on, whoever curses Pinduoduo is against me. Pinduoduo is clearly a public welfare app!”

”Can you believe a laptop can save me a thousand yuan?”

”My friend just ordered a phone on Taobao, and now he’s already planning to return it and re-buy it on Pinduoduo.”

...

In an internet cafe in Modu, a college student playing a game looked at the information about Pinduoduo’s Hundred Billion Subsidy on the weibo hot search, somewhat disbelieving.

”Is it real or fake? Can it really be that much cheaper?”

After a moment of thought, he still downloaded Pinduoduo, intending to check it out.

When he found that the price of the phone he wanted to buy on Pinduoduo was indeed six or seven hundred cheaper than on Taobao, he couldn’t sit still.

”No way.”

After muttering to himself, he didn’t choose to place an order but instead contacted Pinduoduo’s customer service to confirm the authenticity of the phone.

After being assured of an unconditional seven-day refund if unsatisfied, he finally bought the phone he had always wanted without hesitation.

And such scenes appeared repeatedly almost everywhere in Yan Country after the launch of Pinduoduo’s Hundred Billion Subsidy.

Many users who had originally planned to uninstall the app after receiving the Cut-a-thon Red Envelope hesitated at this moment.

After all, even if they didn’t want to buy anything from the Hundred Billion Subsidy now, who knows, they might want to change their phone someday?

And after the launch of the Hundred Billion Subsidy, Pinduoduo’s daily transaction volume also continued to surge wildly.

Many people felt that this Hundred Billion Subsidy event certainly wouldn’t last long, given the massive losses.

So, many people wanted to buy more things while the Hundred Billion Subsidy was still available.

Under such circumstances, three days passed quickly.

And three days later, Pinduoduo announced its total transaction volume for these three days!

This figure directly exceeded ten billion!

This achievement instantly shocked many people.

Moreover, the user increase previously caused by the Cut-a-thon Red Envelope did not sharply decline after the Cut-a-thon Red Envelope event ended.

Ultimately, Pinduoduo’s user base stabilized at around forty-five million.

This number only dropped by five million compared to a few days ago.

This achievement was quite good for Pinduoduo.

It’s important to know that when Penguin spent money to promote Weikan, it accumulated forty to fifty million users in a short period, but when the event went offline and there were no more benefits, a large portion of these users were lost.

In contrast, the five million users Pinduoduo lost were basically people who only came for the Red Envelope and never shopped online.

So, in reality, these lost users did not cause any significant loss to Pinduoduo.

Users with spending power, due to the existence of the Hundred Billion Subsidy, mostly kept Pinduoduo on their phones.

And after Pinduoduo announced the results of the Hundred Billion Subsidy launch, this achievement also surprised Taobao’s internal team, but only slightly; Taobao’s internal team wasn’t overly concerned.

Because Taobao, with two hundred million monthly active users, already had a daily transaction volume exceeding ten billion, with its highest single-day transaction volume even reaching eighty billion.

So, Pinduoduo’s achievement of ten billion in three days was still somewhat underwhelming for them, far behind Taobao.

Many even thought that Pinduoduo could never catch up to Taobao’s average daily transaction volume, let alone its historical record.

But no one noticed that shortly after Pinduoduo’s Hundred Billion Subsidy event was launched, many videos promoting a certain festival suddenly appeared on Douyin short videos.

And this festival was Double Eleven Singles Day!

Chapter 58: Promotion of Double Eleven Singles Day, Pinduoduo’s Next Step!

In a university dorm in Modu, the third roommate was still lying on his bed, as usual, scrolling through Douyin.

Normally, the videos Douyin recommended to him were content he was interested in.

But today, shortly after he started scrolling through Douyin, a new video was pushed to his homepage.

The title of this video consisted of only a few short words: Do you know Singles Day?

And the video content was various promotions for Double Eleven Singles Day.

”November 11th is the date with the most ’ones’ each year, representing single people, so many people consider this day Singles Day.”

”There are many Valentine’s Days each year; people always want to celebrate holidays with loved ones, but there has never been a holiday to celebrate living alone, as if being single isn’t worth celebrating.”

”Why not start this year and let Singles Day become a holiday to celebrate being single.”

As the video’s script played, the background music was ’Single Love Song,’ making it easy for people to be drawn to the video.

And at the end of the video, there was this sentence: ”If you haven’t found a partner by this Singles Day, celebrate the holiday by yourself.”

”One person can also be very happy.”

Not long after, the video finished playing.
