Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Spider Web Monsters and Kobolds

The sounds of battle quickly subsided.

Then came a strange, eerie dragging sound, and a ”sh-sh-sh” crawling noise.

Everyone turned their gaze toward the left side of the hall.

They saw several large and small dark shadows appearing from the left-side passage.

Here they come, they are coming!

”Favide, launch a Fire Rain covering the left-side passage entrance, start chanting now, and maintain it until the fire rain ends.”

”After the first wave of fire rain falls, Luna, close the distance and start Moon Blade interference, wolf cavalry immediately throw javelins.”

”Aisha and Madeleine also launch simultaneous ranged attacks to delay them for another round, then immediately initiate melee attacks with Lensa Shuizhao, fighting around the fire rain area and restricting their movement range.”

Zong Shen whispered instructions.

Favide, hearing the orders, immediately raised the magic staff and began chanting softly.

The giant wolf beneath the wolf cavalry was a bit uneasy, baring its fangs towards the passage on the left side of the hall.

The shadows drew closer, until they left the left passage and entered the hall.

Three monsters, two meters tall, with spider bodies on the lower half and humanoid upper bodies, slowly walked out.

Their large abdomens were marked with peculiar patterns,

At the end, each dragged a giant web, swollen and bulging, as if something inside was constantly writhing and struggling,

These were the so-called Spider Web Monsters.

Additionally, there were a few smaller Spider Web Monsters, only half the height.

All the Spider Web Monsters had eight legs and large abdomens on the lower body, with humanoid upper bodies, bearing a pair of arms.

The larger Spider Web Monsters held two oddly-shaped single-edged swords in their arms.

The smaller ones grasped two sharp tusk daggers.

Their faces had no nose, eight eyes lined up on either side, and their mouths extended two poison fangs like a spider.

Zong Shen focused and examined their attributes.

Fear of Fire (Suffers extra damage when attacked with fire attributes)]

(The standard force among the Spider Web Monsters, an overwhelming tide of Spider Web monsters is every enemy’s nightmare)

There were three Web Weaver Warriors and four Little Spider Web Monsters, more than enough for a fight.

The most important thing was, these Spider Web Monsters were all in a wounded state, it was clear that the commotion earlier in the left passage was them engaged in combat with some creatures.

Perhaps, those bulging things in the webs were the creatures they had fought.

But now, they seemed to have become prey.

Just as these Spider Web Monsters stepped out of the passage.

Favide’s Fire Rain Magic was already prepared.

A magic array appeared at the top of the hall, tilted towards the left passage entrance, starting to rain fire down.

Dozens of fist-sized fireballs rained down ferociously.

Dimly illuminating more than half of the hall.

The fireballs hit the Web Weaver Monsters hard, leaving black burn marks and a hot scorched smell.

[-100]

[-10]

A stream of damage numbers popped up.

Due to the Web Weaver Monsters’ fear of fire, the damage from the fire rain was much higher than usual.

Some fireballs struck the webs, igniting them directly.

Damages began to continually emerge, steadily reducing the web’s Durability Value.

Additionally, some sparks flew out, igniting webs attached to the ground.

”Squeal!”

The Web Weaver Warrior let out a screech.

Immediately targeting Zong Shen and the others.

Just as they were about to leave the Fire Rain area, attempting to pursue.

The wolf cavalry’s javelins, Aisha’s Holy Light Arrow, and Madeleine’s Giant Dragon Shot all fired almost simultaneously.

Forming a small-scale ranged barrage.

Striking the Spider Web Monsters.

Blocking their escape, boxing them in the Fire Rain area.

The damage numbers kept appearing.

Then, the wolf cavalry and Sharp Claw Druid rushed forward.

Engaging in close combat.

Firmly trapping these Spider Web Monsters in the Fire Rain area.

The wave-like descent of the Fire Rain greatly suppressed the attack frequency of the Spider Web Monsters.

With this shift in balance, by the fourth wave of Fire Rain, these Spider Web Monsters had all turned into flashes of white light.

[Your subordinate wolf cavalry has killed a Little Spider Web Monster lv10, you gain half the experience points]

[Your subordinate Sharp Claw Druid has killed a Spider Web Monster Warrior lv20, you gain half the experience points]

[Your subordinate Dark Night Female Hunter has killed a Little Spider Web Monster lv10, you gain half the experience points]

...

[Gained Experience Points (170×½) = 85]

[Gained Experience Points (1280×½) = 690]

[Gained Experience Points (170×½) = 85]

...

A flash of white light, Zong Shen leveled up to lv12.

Favide stopped the Fire Rain.

Zong Shen, riding a wild boar, began to clean up the battlefield.

The Web Weaver Monsters left behind several flashes of white light, leaving some corpses.

Zong Shen approached to collect the loot one by one, then disassembled the corpses of the Web Weaver Monsters.

At this time, Zong Shen noticed that the webs on the Web Weaver Warriors’ abdomens had not disappeared.

Instead, they continued to burn.

Occasionally with damage numbers emerging.

”It seems like the things inside the webs are still alive?”

Zong Shen figured something out, pointing with his sword.

”Cut open the webs!”

The diligent wolf cavalry immediately stepped forward, carefully slicing open the burning webs with sabres.

With a Durability Value of 1000, these webs were tough to destroy, even with the prior burning, the wolf cavalry had to pry for quite some time to break the webs.

Each web wrapped around four or five short, ugly creatures.

These creatures were also humanoid, around 1 meter tall, but their heads were like that of a dog.

Wearing ragged cloth.

A few wearing shabby leather armor.

Holding short knives and daggers as weapons.

They all turned out to be kobolds.

These kobolds, breaking free from the webs, started crying out loudly, ”Wah, wah.”

Looking at everyone with fear.

Zong Shen glanced, noticing that the kobolds’ information text was in a neutral gray color.

Indicating that these kobolds were akin to human indigenous people, belonging to a neutral faction!
