Villain's Evolution: Investing in My Minions Yields Crazy Returns!

’A Rank? Perfect.’

Victor looked down at the information.

Evelyn was currently using only the Fine Rank movement skill [Swift Step].

And for a Level Eighteen assassin, it was indeed beginning to fall behind.

”Evelyn,” he called out.

The girl raised an eyebrow. ”I get something too?”

”You don’t want it?”

”Of course I do.”

She stepped out directly, even wearing a faint smile.

”I just didn’t expect Young Master to really start emptying the family vault to raise us today.”

Several people nearby immediately wore strange expressions. Some even glared at Evelyn, wishing she would just shut up. After all, quite a few of them believed he was not in his right mind.

But before he regained his senses, they wanted to benefit from him as much as possible.

Meanwhile, Victor’s eyebrows twitched in annoyance.

There were not many people who dared speak to Victor like that.

But according to the original body’s memories, Evelyn had always been this way.

Her father had once served as an intelligence officer under Duke Alves, so she and the original Victor had known each other since childhood.

Rather than calling her a follower, she was closer to the daughter of a subordinate family who had grown up alongside him.

Victor ignored her teasing and proceeded to ask, ”What do you want?”

Evelyn became visibly more serious. ”Movement technique. At least Rare Rank. Preferably suited for short distance bursts.”

”Your demands aren’t exactly modest,” Victor remarked.

”Didn’t you say it yourself?” Evelyn smiled. ”As long as we’re valuable, you’ll give it to us.”

Victor looked at her with amusement. This girl had actually used his own words against him.

He looked at her for a few seconds and then relented.

”Fine.”

Ten minutes later, Academy Skill Exchange Repository.

[Rare Rank Skill: Shadow Assault Step]

[Exchange Price: 61,000 Gold Coins.]

[Effect: Instantly strengthens explosive power in both legs, allowing the user to perform a high speed short distance dash while greatly reducing the sound generated during movement.]

”Buy it.”

[Payment Successful.]

[Shadow Assault Step Skill Crystal has been delivered to your academy storage locker.]

At the same time, the system notification appeared once again.

[Host detected completing an effective investment in A Rank potential target Evelyn Moore.]

[Investment Value: 61,000 Gold Coins.]

[Calculating return multiplier...]

[Congratulations, Host. You have triggered an 88× Return.]

[Equivalent Return Value: 5,368,000 Gold Coins.]

[Please select a return form.]

[Option One: 5,368,000 Gold Coins.]

[Option Two: Epic Rank Equipment: Sky Treading Battle Boots.]

[Option Three: Permanent Attribute Reward: Agility +40.]

Victor barely needed to think.

”Choose Option Three.”

[Selection Successful.]

[Agility +40.]

Boom!

At that moment, Victor clearly felt his body change. It was not the overwhelming impact of a sudden increase in strength. Instead, the entire world seemed to slow down slightly.

He could sense a leaf falling at the edge of the distant training ground, the angle at which someone’s clothes fluttered in the morning breeze, and even the subtle movement of Karl’s shoulder muscles as he subconsciously turned his head. Everything was far clearer than before.

Victor lowered his head and opened his now updated attribute panel.

[Host: Victor Alves]

[Level: 21]

[Profession: Magic Swordsman]

[Strength: 42]

[Constitution: 39]

[Agility: 77]

[Spirit: 51]

[Mana: 620]

Agility had directly risen from thirty seven to seventy seven! It was no longer an attribute a normal Level Twenty One professional should possess.

Even many Level Thirty assassins specializing in agility might not reach that number. More importantly...

[Host has completed a total of three effective investments.]

[New System Function Unlocked.]

[Investment Scan.]

[Host may actively scan all targets within a certain radius who meet investment standards.]

[Current Scan Radius: 500 meters.]

[Free Uses Per Day: 3.]

[Investment targets will display different markers according to potential rank.]

[Notice: Scan cannot identify targets whose destinies have absolutely no intersection with the Host.]

Five hundred meters and three times per day!

Victor’s eyes brightened slightly.

With this function, he no longer needed to stare at people one by one to inspect them.

Across the entire academy, how many geniuses were hidden away without ever growing?

How many future villains would die before realizing their potential?

How many people who never even received a name in the original storyline secretly possessed A Rank or even S Rank potential?

Now, he could slowly find all of them.

Out of excitement, he didn’t even realize when he activated the new system function.

”Scan.”

[Remaining Free Scans Today: 2.]

Buzz!

There was no actual fluctuation of energy in reality. But within Victor’s vision, a translucent dark red ripple instantly spread outward with him at its center.

The entire Third Training Ground, the surrounding teaching buildings, roads, and the edge of the dormitory district were all covered.

One faint light after another appeared in Victor’s vision.

There were White, Green, Blue, and Purple. The different colors represented different levels of potential. The vast majority were extremely ordinary. Occasionally, a few purple points representing A Rank potential appeared.

As for S Rank, Victor immediately saw Noah, who was radiating golden light. It was extremely conspicuous. It would be hard not to notice it.

Just as he was about to close the scan, suddenly, southeast of the training ground, roughly four hundred seventy meters away near a first year teaching building, a second golden light appeared.

’Another S Rank?’ Victor’s eyes widened.

Was his luck really this good today?

Before he could inspect it further, beside that golden point of light, another color appeared. One he had never seen before.

It was not purple or gold, but a deep crimson as rich as blood.

Victor’s gaze narrowed, and his heartbeat sped up at this.

”System, what does red represent?”
