Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 242: Chapter 242: The Proud Girl

The proud and lofty Ling Ao Xue had never been one to inconvenience herself.

Just looking at Qin Tianxuan was enough to annoy her.

’What’s with the act? He looks so young. There’s no way he’s one of Dad’s old army buddies.’

’All of my dad’s comrades are in their forties or fifties.’

”Get out of my car!” Ling Ao Xue furiously slammed on the horn to vent her frustration.

Qin Tianxuan simply opened the door and got out.

He walked up to her window. ”I’ll give you half an hour to pull yourself together. I’ll be waiting for you across the street.”

’Across the street? At the boba shop?’

Ling Ao Xue stared, dumbfounded, as the man sat down and ordered a glass of juice.

’That bastard!’

’Who does he think I am?!’

The furious Eldest Miss Ling called her father.

”Dad, I’m not doing this! That man you told me about is horrible!”

Ling Du Zhi was alarmed. ”Ao Xue, what did you do?”

”What could I do? That Qin guy is crude and disrespectful.” Ling Ao Xue’s eyes darted around as she put on an aggrieved tone. ”He was hitting on me, he even tried to... assault me!”

’Hmph. Now Dad will definitely be furious and put him in his place for me.’

Ling Du Zhi only had one daughter, and he doted on her, treating her like a precious treasure.

Ling Ao Xue waited in anticipation.

But all she heard from the other end of the line was her father’s laughter.

”Ao Xue, you’re lying!”

”I... I am not!”

”Ao Xue, stop throwing your little tantrums. Mr. Qin, interested in you? Assaulting you? What nonsense. Let me tell you something, daughter. Even if a goddess from the heavens stood naked before Mr. Qin, he wouldn’t spare her a second glance. That man only has eyes for one woman!”

Ling Du Zhi’s tone turned stern. ”Now, go and apologize to Mr. Qin immediately. If he doesn’t forgive you, then I’ll have no choice but to go and beg for his forgiveness on my knees!”

Ling Ao Xue was utterly horrified.

She wasn’t an idiot. She understood what this meant.

’This Qin guy... even Dad can’t afford to cross him.’

Resigned, Ling Ao Xue got out of the car. Her face as red as an apple, she walked uneasily toward the boba shop.

Qin Tianxuan set down his juice. ”Composed yourself? Can we go now?” 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

’Damn it!’

His cold, arrogant expression was infuriating.

But there was nothing she could do. Ling Ao Xue turned her head away awkwardly. ”Just say it. Where are we going?”

”There’s a family in Jin City, the Ding Family. Take me there. On the way, I need you to compile their information for me. Ling Du Zhi said you’re smart and majored in public administration. This shouldn’t be too hard for you, right?”

With that, Qin Tianxuan casually sat back down in the convertible.

Ling Ao Xue stomped her high heels and sashayed back to the car. ”I... I’m not your secretary!”

”You’re not qualified to be my secretary!” Qin Tianxuan’s patience wore thin. ”If you can’t handle it, I’ll find someone else right now! I don’t have time to waste on you.”

Ling Ao Xue started the car, feeling utterly wronged.

Qin Tianxuan sneered from the passenger seat. ”I was just looking for a local driver. But Ling Du Zhi sent you, his only daughter, which must mean he wants me to train you. For Wutian’s sake, I can give you one chance.”

His demands were simple and direct: ”Less talk, more work. Follow orders, and don’t talk back!”

Ling Ao Xue gritted her teeth in frustration. ”Fine, you win. But before we go, I need to meet some friends and say hi.”

She had just returned to Jin City, and her friends were all waiting to throw her a welcome party.

Qin Tianxuan glanced at his watch. ”You have one hour.”

Hmph!

Ling Ao Xue drove straight to the Linghai Garden Hotel.

Linghai Garden was an elegant establishment, famous for its desserts. Its rooftop garden restaurant also boasted the creations of a French chef.

But it was expensive and by reservation only.

Ling Ao Xue got out of the car and hesitated. ’Should I really bring this man upstairs with me?’

’How would I even introduce him?’

But Qin Tianxuan had already gotten out of the car. ”So this is the garden restaurant? My sister said she’s always wanted to try the cream-filled croissants here. Are they any good?”

Ling Ao Xue pursed her lips. ”Why don’t you try one and find out?”

Qin Tianxuan had already walked into the restaurant and taken a seat at a table to the side.

Before Ling Ao Xue could even find her friends, the man spoke up. ”Buy a dessert for me, to go. I’ll bring it to Ah Xue later.”

’Ah Xue? His sister?’

Ling Ao Xue smiled. ”Your sister has the same nickname as me. I’m also called Ah Xue. But I don’t have a nice older brother like you!”

It was a rare moment of her saying something pleasant.

Qin Tianxuan tapped a finger on the table. ”You have fifty minutes left. I don’t wait.”

’Jerk!’

The smile vanished from Ling Ao Xue’s face.

Just then, a group of rich kids appeared, taking over the largest table in the center of the room. ”Ao Xue! Over here! Hurry up!”

There were two girls and three young men, all decked out in designer clothes.

The girls were flashy and glamorous, the young men handsome and rich. The entire waitstaff of the garden restaurant seemed to be catering to their table.

Ling Ao Xue walked over, a troubled expression on her face. ”Sorry guys, I have to go take care of something. You go on and have fun.”

”Whoa, Ao Xue, you just got back. What could be so important?” A handsome boy stood up, fiddling with his phone. ”I saw you talking to that guy over there. Who is he? Your driver? Or a bodyguard?”

In their eyes, Qin Tianxuan’s simple clothes made him look like either a driver or a bodyguard.

Ling Ao Xue was mortified. ”I’m... helping him with something.”

Huh?!

The handsome guy’s face darkened. ”What are you talking about? Ao Xue, why would you be helping a guy like that? Just wait, I’ll go get rid of him for you!”

The young master marched straight toward Qin Tianxuan before Ling Ao Xue could stop him.

The other rich kids snickered. ”Ao Xue, just let Young Master Chen handle it. There’s nothing he can’t get done in Jin City.”

Across the room, Qin Tianxuan swirled the juice in his glass, silently watching Young Master Chen approach.
