Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 216: Chapter 216: Lost Memory

Han Biwei had actually woken up at noon. Now, deep into the night, she was working hard to recover her strength.

Her muscles had atrophied somewhat from being in a coma for so long. The Little Divine Doctor, Gu Qingzhi, was now gently massaging her legs, using a skillful technique to slowly restore their vitality.

Han Biwei’s complexion looked good, but she still felt dizzy and weak.

”Madam Weiwei, you haven’t eaten for a long time. These past few days, you’ve only been receiving nutrients through injections, so you’re very weak right now. However, one of Mr. Qin’s people, Lingsu from the Celestial Medicine Hall, has prepared two restorative formulas for you. You’ll be back on your feet in no time.”

Han Biwei frowned as she drank the specially prepared ginseng soup. ”My head hurts a lot. What’s the Celestial Medicine Hall? Lingsu? And who is this Mr. Qin?”

Gu Qingzhi sighed. ”We can explain all that later. You... you may have lost some of your memories.”

”That’s impossible!” Han Biwei said weakly from where she lay. ”I remember everything... Oh, right, where’s my daughter? Niannian!”

She shot up abruptly, but the effort was too much, and she collapsed back onto the bed.

”Calm down!” Gu Qingzhi exclaimed, startled. She quickly called for a nurse, gave Han Biwei an injection, and then used acupuncture to stabilize her vitals.

”Niannian is on her way back from school.”

Han Biwei kept rubbing her head, struggling to remember. ”Am I in Jiangning? Is this place Jiangning? I think I fainted because my old illness relapsed, but... but some things are so fuzzy. It’s like I...”

Her eyes were filled with confusion. ”I think I married a stranger!”

That’s where her memory stopped.

Han Biwei’s memory had stopped back when she was in Jiangning.

Qin Tianxuan’s appearance, his acknowledgment of their daughter, his rescue of her from the wedding—everything that happened afterward had become a blur.

It wasn’t a total memory loss; she still had impressions of certain events, but the details were impossible to recall.

Outside, her father, Han Qian Jun, and her mother, Jiang Wan Jun, rushed over.

The couple’s legs were weak with relief, but their joy was irrepressible. They clasped Gu Qingzhi’s hands, looking as if they were about to fall to their knees in gratitude.

”Please, there’s no need for that. Sir, Ma’am, just remember not to visit for too long. She needs her rest right now.”

Han Qian Jun and Jiang Wan Jun nodded eagerly.

Their joy grew even more when they went inside and saw their precious daughter awake.

But after exchanging just a few words, they were left stunned.

”You really don’t remember Tianxuan? He’s your husband!”

”You two have been through so much together!” Jiang Wan Jun couldn’t help but slap her thigh in frustration as she recounted all the stories she knew.

Recalling the various events in Su City still made Jiang Wan Jun’s heart pound.

Han Biwei listened, deeply shaken by what she heard.

And yet...

”I really can’t remember. It’s like it was all a dream, and now that I’ve woken up, it’s gone. Niannian’s biological father? Did I really marry him?”

Just then, Gu Qingzhi entered with Lingsu.

Han Biwei’s swift recovery was thanks to the potent medicine from the Celestial Medicine Hall, combined with Gu Qingzhi’s acupuncture and massages.

A typical patient waking from a coma would need to stay in bed for at least a week before they could talk and eat.

But Han Biwei was already trying to sit up. She looked shy as she said, ”I’d like to take a shower!”

”Absolutely not. You can’t get out of bed for at least three days. As for a shower, that will have to wait for five!”

Han Biwei touched her hospital gown. ”Can I at least change my clothes? This gown smells awful.”

That was permissible.

Gu Qingzhi and Lingsu moved to help her undress.

This sort of thing had been routine while she was comatose.

But now, Han Biwei immediately grew shy. ”I... I’ll do it myself. If I can’t manage, I’ll have my mom help me.”

Even though they were all women, she still felt uncomfortable.

Gu Qingzhi and Lingsu slowly backed out of the room.

Both of them wore worried expressions.

”Qingzhi, what are the chances of Madam Weiwei regaining her memories?”

Gu Qingzhi shook her head. ”Lingsu, you should have seen my report. Madam Weiwei’s condition is very peculiar. She was poisoned many years ago. The situation is complex... I’ll have to report it to Mr. Qin in detail.”

Lingsu rubbed her forehead, her heart aching.

’A couple who had developed such deep feelings for each other, and now one of them has lost all their most beautiful memories. Won’t Mr. Qin be heartbroken?’

Meanwhile, in the hospital room, Jiang Wan Jun was giving Han Biwei a sponge bath.

Her clothes lay to one side, and the warm water running over her pale skin felt wonderful.

Mother and daughter chatted, but Jiang Wan Jun couldn’t seem to go a few sentences without bringing up Qin Tianxuan, much to Han Biwei’s frustration. ”Mom, please stop talking about him. I really don’t remember. Let’s just take things slow.”

Suddenly, Niannian’s voice came from outside. ”Mommy, Mommy, you’re really awake? I’m so happy!”

Niannian burst into the room.

Still undressed, Han Biwei sat up abruptly. ”Niannian, Niannian!”

She cried out her daughter’s name, not expecting a man to appear right behind the little girl.

Qin Tianxuan had followed her in, his heart filled with excitement, completely unprepared for the scene before him.

AH!

Han Biwei screamed, crossing her arms over her body. ”Who... who are you? Get out!”

Qin Tianxuan spun around, his heart lurching. ’Is it really like Gu Qingzhi said? Has Weiwei lost her memory?’

Behind him, Han Biwei used all her strength to pull the covers over herself. As she fell back weakly onto the bed, she grabbed a pillow to shield her body. ”You... get out, now! I... I...”

She was struggling to breathe.

Qin Tianxuan hurried out of the room, his own forehead breaking out in a sweat.

But the image he had just witnessed was already seared into his mind.

Weiwei’s shy expression, her snow-white skin... the images flashed before his eyes.

’What’s wrong with me? What am I thinking?’ Qin Tianxuan took a deep breath and strode toward the office.

”Qingzhi, Lingsu, explain it to me. What exactly is going on with Weiwei’s condition?”
