Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 223: Chapter 223: Just This Once

At that moment of stalemate, a crisp, clear voice rang out: ”Daddy, please don’t do this, okay?”

”Niannian?” Qin Tianxuan lowered his hand and said hurriedly, ”Did Daddy scare you? Prince, take Niannian to the car right now.”

”No.” Niannian shook her head. ”Daddy, I know I’m little and don’t understand everything, but I really don’t want to see you do this. Little Mama said that family is the most important thing. Isn’t this Grandma’s home?”

Though her voice was childish, she spoke like a little adult: ”Daddy, can you spare them, please? I’ve never met Grandma... but I’m sure she wouldn’t want to see you like this.”

Qin Tianxuan shuddered.

Niannian tugged on his hand. ”If Grandma were still alive, this would make her very sad.”

Qin Tianxuan bent down and picked up his daughter. After a long silence, he gave a cold command: ”I never want to see Chu Qianqiu or Chu Sihai again, nor do I ever want to hear their names.”

Banishment!

Utter banishment.

From this moment on, Chu Sihai and Chu Qianqiu were destined to live out their days in obscurity.

But at least Qin Tianxuan had spared their lives.

Chuchu’s whole body went limp with relief, and she nearly burst into tears.

Holding Niannian, Qin Tianxuan slowly sat down and chuckled. ”Niannian, those things you just said... Little Mama taught them to you, didn’t she?”

Niannian’s little face flushed. ”How did you know, Daddy?”

”My dear child, no matter how clever you are, you couldn’t have come up with such big ideas all by yourself.”

Qin Tianxuan understood. Looking at Chuchu, who was still crying, he beckoned her over.

”The Chu Family will begin anew. Their supposed assets are actually liabilities; Chu Qianqiu and Chu Sihai have already squandered the family’s entire foundation. Though I have shattered the Chu Family’s old plaque, I will forge a new one—one that is far more illustrious!”

A brand-new plaque appeared.

It had been prepared in advance.

The four words on it, ”Imperial Capital Chu Clan,” had been written by Qin Tianxuan himself.

Beneath the main inscription was his mother’s name: ”Chu Xinyue”!

”Chuchu, you will inherit this plaque. From now on, you will be the Matriarch of the Chu Family. You will have the full support of the four great Silver Alliances!”

Qin Tianxuan made a promise: ”Before long, the Chu Family will return to the Imperial Capital. And when it does, the decadent, powerful families there will tremble and kneel!”

In his mother’s name, he would forge the most powerful family in the Imperial Capital!

His mother Chu Xinyue’s name would shine eternal.

Chuchu accepted the plaque, only to firmly refuse. ”I can’t be the Matriarch!”

Hmm?

Qin Tianxuan frowned. ”Who else in the Chu Family could possibly take on this responsibility? This plaque is in my mother’s memory; I can’t entrust it to just anyone!”

Chuchu wiped her tears and suddenly smiled. ”There is someone who would be perfect!”

”And who is that?”

Chuchu patted Niannian’s little head. ”Niannian, of course! The blood of the Chu Family flows in her veins!”

What!

Qin Tianxuan was speechless. ”Don’t joke around. Niannian is just a child!”

”She can take over the family enterprise when she’s older. Until then, I’ll help manage it. I won’t be the Matriarch, just an administrator. How does that sound?”

Chuchu’s words gave Qin Tianxuan pause.

After a long moment, he nodded. ”Very well. We’ll do it that way.”

Behind them, Prince and the others watched Chuchu, nodding in silent approval.

’This young lady of the Chu Family is so much better than that one from the Ye Family.’

’Giving up the position of the Chu Clan’s Sect Leader to become an administrator was an absolutely brilliant move.’

’And making Niannian the Matriarch was a stroke of genius.’

’With this, the Chu Family will have nothing to fear in the future!’

’After all, Niannian is the sole heir to Qin Tianxuan’s legacy as the Night Emperor.’

The matter of the Chu Family was finally settled.

Qin Tianxuan took Niannian back to Shenghua Hospital and began preparations to return to Su City.

Uncle Han, Aunt Jiang, and Weiwei were all eager to go home.

Niannian, in particular, was already missing her classmates and teachers.

’There’s no place like home.’

”Sir, the private jet to Su City has been arranged. The Madam is recovering quickly. We expect her to be out of bed in about three days. After one more physical therapy session, she should be well enough to fly.”

Unsettled, Qin Tianxuan personally inspected the private jet’s condition before finally giving an order: ”Name this plane the ’Weiwei.’ From now on, it’s hers.”

After settling that matter, he tucked his daughter into bed, then went to Han Biwei’s hospital room and knocked softly.

He had promised Weiwei he would never enter her room without permission, so he was very careful.

”Come in!” Han Biwei called out gently.

Qin Tianxuan pushed the door open and went inside.

He saw Han Biwei dressed in two layers of hospital gowns and wrapped tightly in a blanket, looking as if she were guarding against a predator.

Qin Tianxuan was both speechless and amused.

He pulled up a chair and sat down at a distance.

”So, um... is Niannian asleep?”

”Mhm. You’re recovering very well, so don’t worry about her.”

Han Biwei blinked. ”There’s one thing... I don’t think it’s right for Niannian to miss school. When we get back to Su City, we need to find a tutor to help her catch up.”

Saying this, she seemed to remember something else. ”And I can’t accept your bank card. I already told my parents—we should keep our finances separate. You use your money, and I’ll use mine. I have my own job in Su City, you know.”

Her schooling, household expenses... these were the mundane details of family life.

Qin Tianxuan replied decisively, ”We’ll do it all your way.”

Han Biwei finally let out a sigh of relief. ”Did things go smoothly today?” she asked. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

Qin Tianxuan smiled faintly. ”Very smoothly. But there is something I’d like to ask you.”

Han Biwei fidgeted with her blanket. ”What is it?”

Qin Tianxuan stood and paced a few steps. ”Chuchu came to you and pleaded on behalf of the Chu Family. Is that true?”

Han Biwei grew tense. ”Yes. Yes, she did.”

Qin Tianxuan shook his head. ”You appeared to refuse, but you actually sent Niannian to do it for you. You know I’ll do anything for my daughter! You even taught her all those platitudes to recite.”

Han Biwei’s face flushed red. ”I’m sorry, I... I...”

Qin Tianxuan waved his hand. ”The matter is in the past. But don’t let it happen again!”
