Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 236: Chapter 236: Who Exactly Hurt Ah Xue?

Jin City Central Hospital, the best hospital in the city!

Qin Tianxuan stood at the door of the hospital room, anxiously waiting for Xia Xueqing, who was undergoing an examination inside.

A full examination.

A beautiful female doctor came out, her expression grim. ”Are you a member of Xia Xueqing’s family?”

”Yes, I’m her brother!”

”Brother?” The female doctor raised an eyebrow. ”Her biological brother?”

”Yes!” Qin Tianxuan was getting anxious. What was this doctor implying?

The female doctor sneered, ”You’re a real piece of work for a ’biological brother.’ Bringing your sister to the hospital only after she’s gotten into this state!”

”Doctor, what exactly is wrong with her?”

The female doctor picked up the medical chart. ”Chronic malnutrition, exhaustion from overwork, and two past bone fractures. Those aren’t even the worst of it. The most severe issue is the burn on her neck. It’s old and has already begun to show signs of necrosis. Why wasn’t she brought to the hospital for such a serious injury? Now, we can only treat it slowly. I’m afraid it will take a very long time.”

Qin Tianxuan’s knuckles cracked as he clenched his fists. After a long moment, he forced himself to calm down. ”Thank you, Doctor. I’ll handle the admission procedures. We’ll be in your care.”

”First, we need to run some more detailed tests. There’s no rush to admit her right now. Panicking won’t help; she needs to recover slowly.” The doctor’s expression softened slightly, though she continued to lecture him.

Qin Tianxuan listened in silence, not uttering a single word of rebuttal.

He was already going mad with fury inside, filled with guilt toward Ah Xue. ’The doctor is right,’ he thought. ’What kind of brother have I been?!’

”Brother Tianxuan...” Ah Xue said helplessly as she came out, looking at him. ”I can’t be admitted to the hospital. When the family gets back, I still have a lot of things to do.”

”Those bastards from the Sun Family are not your family!” Qin Tianxuan gritted his teeth.

Ah Xue sighed. ”I’m not talking about Uncle Sun and the others. I’m talking about Grandpa and Grandma...”

The old Mr. and Mrs. Sun, the elderly couple who had been kindest to Ah Xue.

They were the benefactors she could never bring herself to forget.

”The Sun Family is in trouble now. Grandpa and Grandma were so good to me. They raised me and treated me better than their own granddaughter. For the sake of their spirits in heaven, I can’t just leave like this.”

The Sun Family’s business had run into problems, and they had to marry Ah Xue off to that Ding the Fool to get the 5 million bride price and overcome their financial crisis.

The matter was simple enough to resolve. He could just toss five million at the Sun Family, and it would all be over.

But!

Qin Tianxuan wouldn’t give them a single cent!

He wasn’t the type to compromise and swallow his grievances.

”Ah Xue, you just focus on staying in the hospital and getting better. I’ll go talk to the Sun Family. Don’t worry, your brother will take care of everything.”

After reassuring Ah Xue and coaxing her into staying at the hospital to recover, Qin Tianxuan turned and arranged for a team of guards to be stationed there.

After leaving the Central Hospital, he stood in silence in the cold wind.

Chen Haobei and the others stood by uneasily, all of them sensing the Night Emperor’s boundless fury.

”Sir, the Sun Family has returned to their villa. Should I take some men over and deal with them directly?”

Even Chen Haobei felt that what had happened to Ah Xue was an unforgivable injustice.

But Qin Tianxuan just sneered coldly. ”Those bastards from the Sun Family tortured Ah Xue for so many years. Deal with them directly now? You think I’d let them off that easily?”

”What do you intend to do, Sir?”

Qin Tianxuan waved his hand dismissively. ”An eye for an eye! Investigate everything about the Sun Family! I want them to wish they were dead!”

The thought of Ah Xue, emaciated and covered in injuries, made his heart ache with a sharp pain.

”First, find out who was responsible for the burn on my sister’s neck! I will deal with that person myself!” Qin Tianxuan said through gritted teeth, forcing out each word.

Meanwhile, at the Sun Family’s villa, Sun Haodong and his wife had just returned from a trip with their son and daughter.

When they got home, they found the security guards were gone, and the manager and cook had also disappeared.

Sun Haodong tried calling them repeatedly, but no one answered. He jumped in alarm. ”Did they run off with our money?”

He rushed to open the safe, but all the jewelry and valuables were still there.

”What about that damn girl, Xia Xueqing? Don’t tell me she ran off too!” Lady Sun’s face changed. ”If she’s gone, how are we going to explain it to Ding the Fool’s family? That five million is our lifeline!”

After Sun Haodong inherited the family business, the two factories under his management had already lost over ten million.

For someone like Sun Haodong, with his small-scale business, this was enough to push him to the brink of bankruptcy.

Once they got their hands on that five million, they could at least recover a little.

Sun Haodong’s two sons, both built like bears, swaggered over.

The older one, Sun Ying, yelled, ”I’ll get a few of my guys on it right now! Where could that wretched girl run to? She must’ve bolted because she doesn’t want to marry a fool.”

His younger brother, Sun Xiong, gave a sinister smile. ”I think it’d be faster to have a few friends from the Police Department handle this. I have plenty of friends there.”

The family’s only daughter, the heavily made-up Sun Fangfang, grew upset. ”I’m starving! With that girl gone, who’s going to make my soup? That idiot might be useless otherwise, but she’s a damn good cook.”

Just as the family was about to storm out to find her, Chen Haobei appeared at their front gate.

Chen Haobei walked straight in. ”Sun Haodong?”

Sun Haodong jumped. ”Who are you? Who do you think you are, just walking into someone’s house like that?”

”You don’t need to know who I am. I’m here to tell you two things.” Chen Haobei’s gaze was sharp and terrifying. ”First, your security guards and your cook have quit. Don’t bother looking for them; you won’t find them.”

Sun Haodong was completely unconcerned. ”If they quit, they quit. Saves me this month’s wages. Who the hell are you, anyway?”

Chen Haobei snorted. ”Second, Miss Ah Xue is now in the hospital. My master is her older brother. He sent me to inform you that until her injuries have healed, she will not be returning.”

With that, Chen Haobei turned and left.

Sun Haodong’s family was stunned.

”The hospital? That damn girl’s brother? What... what’s going on?”

His wife, however, reacted faster. She slapped her thigh in a panic. ”I think Xia Xueqing does have a brother, some poor kid from the mountains just like her. Didn’t the old man mention it before? Well, great. Now her brother’s shown up to claim her.”

Sun Haodong’s eyes darted around as a thought struck him. ”Oh no. Does this mean he took that damn girl to the hospital for an injury report? Her brother... he’s trying to extort us!”

Yes, that had to be it.

They knew full well what Ah Xue’s situation had been in the Sun Family all these years.

If her injuries were officially documented, things would get serious.

If he decided to make a scene, they’d be in trouble. A barefoot man fears not the one with shoes. How much money would it take to make this go away?

”What rotten luck! We’ve run into a scoundrel. That guy just now was obviously one of Ah Xue’s brother’s lackeys. This is an organized gang!”

”What’s there to be afraid of!” the two brothers, Sun Ying and Sun Xiong, sneered. ”This is Jin City. This is our turf. We can just have him killed!”
