I'm an Unknown Actress, But Everyone Knows Me

Let’s organize this.

“Mission...”

Why are there so many? I went through the incomplete missions one by one.

「Mission My Life’s Work」

Keyword: Rewatch

Success Condition

[Achieve a completion rate of 78% on OTT]

“〈Youth Disqualified!〉 should probably handle this...”

The problem is, NetHolics hasn’t launched yet. Skip for now.

「Mission Overseas Press」

Keyword: Korean Wave

Success Condition

[Let’s publish 10,000 articles containing the term Han Yeoleum]

“This one too, not yet.”

I’ve actually been counting them every day. With licensing news including Taiwan, it’s about 500 per country, and with broadcasts plus local promotions, around 3,000 total.

“Still, Taiwan brings it up pretty often.”

Do I need to shoot more ads? Either way, once NetHolics comes in, this should be much easier to complete. Skip for now.

「Mission The Trusted Triple」

Keyword: Ten Million

Success Condition

[Surpass 10 million viewers!]

“...Right. Not yet.”

But once 〈Faster Than the Law 3〉 comes out, this one should clear.

「Mission One Step Higher」

Keyword: Best Supporting Actress

Success Condition

[Win Best Supporting Actress!]

“I need at least one more film to complete this.”

With my current screen time, the Popularity Award I got last time is the ceiling. Skip for now...

‘What is this? I’m just skipping everything?’

I let out a sigh as I looked at the newly appeared status window.

“If NetHolics had launched earlier, do you think I wouldn’t be able to do this?”

Who do you think I am? I’m the actress who got eleven new posts on Summer Day just today.

“At least the good thing is there isn’t much left to film for 〈Seoul Metropolitan City〉.”

It’s the perfect timing to review scripts. Absolutely perfect.

If things go well, I might be able to bundle the new missions with the ones I couldn’t finish before and clear them all at once.

“...Next project, I’m picking something with a lot of lines.”

I checked the post that had struck a chord with me again.

Author: MelonMaru

I was rewatching the interrogation scene from Unfair Trade and felt so proud that I came to Summer Day haha. It can’t be easy to handle that many lines alone, but no matter how many times I watch it, it’s moving...T_T I had huge expectations for Seoul Metropolitan City too, but I was sad that we couldn’t hear your voice in the script reading video. It must be because of spoilers, right? I really want to see your next project soon

CappuccinoLikeWife: I agree. Actress Han Yeoreum’s strength is her voice. It’s disappointing that we couldn’t hear it in Seoul Metropolitan City. I wish there were a project focused on her voice. Or honestly, even if she just sings again like on King of Mask Singer, I’d be satisfied. Extremely satisfied. Please do it someday. Anyway, that’s all.

“...Haa.”

I went into my gallery, checked the screenshot I had already saved, and even sorted it into folders.

[Senior Jun: I was watching how long you’d go without contacting me, and you’re always like this...]

Right on cue, a message came from Joo Junseo. I called him immediately.

“Hey. Why are you so hard to reach?”

“Senior, what are you doing?”

“You’re calling me, so something must’ve come up. What is it this time? Coffee truck? Food truck? When I said I’d send one last time, you said you didn’t need it. I was wondering what got into you back then...”

“I really don’t need that.”

“...Why?”

While filming 〈Seoul Metropolitan City〉, I had turned down every offer of support coming in from all directions.

‘Because I don’t want to give any to Do Gyeoul.’

Due to spoiler issues, the main cast’s scenes were scheduled on the same days as much as possible. To minimize changes in extras.

“I just want to eat it myself.”

It’s not like I could slap a ‘NO Do Gyeoul ZONE’ sign on the trucks that came in as support. Better to just not accept them at all.

“Hello? Hello? Senior, did you hang up?”

On the other end of the line, Junseo had suddenly gone silent.

* * *

Joo Junseo narrowed his already sharp eyes even further.

“Good! That’s good, Junseo! That look! Keep that intensity!”

This was the 〈Do It and It Works〉 Action Academy.

Kang Hanseong, the martial arts director, was impressed by Junseo’s steadily improving action skills.

“Focus! Good, good!”

Kang Hanseong seemed to have absolutely no sixth sense. There was no focus. It wasn’t good at all.

The reason Junseo’s eyes had sharpened even more dated back to a month ago.

[Myeong Jeha ・ Han Yeoreum GiYeon couple reunite in a music video... “So happy” Netizens moved]

The return of the “King of Ballads,” Shim Juhwan, has been a hot topic day after day. Since the release of his new song 〈How〉 on the 9th, it has not dropped from the #1 spot on the charts. What is driving this popularity? Setting aside Shim Juhwan’s solid vocals, known among listeners as a “trusted listen,” the standout factor is the performance of Myeong Jeha and Han Yeoreum, who showed insane chemistry in last year’s 〈The Great Garland〉... (omitted)

With Shim Juhwan’s emotionally charged vocals layered over scenes that look like real lovers, netizens responded enthusiastically with comments like “Are they actually dating?” “Please just get married” “Shoot another one,” and so on...

It was right after he had seen that music video of Myeong Jeha and Han Yeoreum. Junseo had swiftly pressed the “dislike” button on every article posted on portal sites.

Since that day, the angle of his eyes had risen by about ten degrees and never gone back down.

“Harder! Hit harder!”

Joo Junseo was an actor too. He knew how to separate work from personal matters. Things like this could happen while working, and anyway, it definitely wasn’t because he had watched Han Yeoreum’s kiss scene with his own two eyes that he felt this way.

“Are you filming a movie?”

“Yeah. I’m going to film one.”

Over the image of Myeong Jeha holding ❀ Nоvеlігht ❀ (Don’t copy, read here) Han Yeoreum’s cheek and kissing her, that past conversation played back in full surround sound.

It was a memory he had tossed aside after feeling accomplished for having filmed a movie with her first.

“You can come visit the set later when Han Yeoreum’s there.”

“...Yeah, sure.”

Now he understood where that relaxed attitude of Myeong Jeha had come from that day.

“Good! That punch is strong!”

Confidence that someone like Joo Junseo could be beaten easily.

Annoyingly enough, Junseo had completely accepted the reason.

Even in the mere four-episode 〈The Great Garland〉, the story had been overwhelmingly strong, so he had let it slide.

But this—

A music video with no lines at all.

Only four minutes long.

Not even the characters’ names were revealed.

And yet, Myeong Jeha operated on a completely different level. He was far too skilled.

“Junseo, your punches are getting stronger.”

“...Thank you.”

“Good. Let’s take a short break!”

The moment the break was called, Junseo checked his phone. His eyes, which had briefly returned to normal, shot up another ten degrees.

Typing: I was watching how long you’d go without contacting me, and you’re always like this...

Han Yeoreum had suddenly refused even coffee trucks and food trucks. For someone who used to be the most materialistic of all, this had never happened before, and now Junseo found himself dreaming about Myeong Jeha every night.

“Do a good job. Filming your movie.”

In his dreams, Myeong Jeha didn’t tell him to do well—he told him to try doing well, like a taunt. Even adding that relaxed pause in his tone.

That attitude, like he had nothing to rush about, irritated Junseo to no end.

Thinking of Myeong Jeha smiling leisurely, he suddenly shot up from his seat.

‘No matter how I think about it, this isn’t the time to rest.’

But just then, Han Yeoreum’s name appeared on his phone.

He immediately pressed the vibrating phone to his ear and hurried out of the academy as he spoke.

“Hey. Why are you so hard to reach?”

It almost felt like a message from Han Yeoreum herself. If he didn’t properly ride the wave of popularity with 〈Faster Than the Law〉 this time, it meant there were plenty of replacements waiting to take his place.

The image of Myeong Jeha smiling calmly kept flashing in his mind.

“You’re calling me, so something must’ve come up. What is it this time? Coffee truck? Food truck? When I said I’d send one last time, you said you didn’t need it. I was wondering what got into you back then...”

“I really don’t need that.”

“...Why?”

Junseo was flustered. No matter what, had she already switched over to Myeong Jeha? The firm answer felt like a line being drawn, and he fell silent for a moment—then Han Yeoreum replied.

“I just want to eat it myself.”

Just me? Only Han Yeoreum? Then did that mean Joo Junseo belonged solely to Han Yeoreum?

“Hello? Hello? Senior, did you hang up?”

Junseo was momentarily shaken, but quickly regained his composure.

After making such a bold declaration, she was getting shy—clearly, it was his role as the older one to smooth things over naturally.

“...Well then, instead of a food truck next time, we could just go eat something good together.”

“That doesn’t mean you should never send a food truck again. I just didn’t want you to misunderstand. You know how I feel, right? Yeah?”

It sounded like she meant he had to succeed in acting—for her sake.

“Yeah. What else would I spend money on... I’ve got to feed you.”

Even as he said it, Junseo slightly regretted how forward it might have sounded.

But someone as materialistic as Han Yeoreum would definitely be evaluating his financial situation and the attitude that came with it. Junseo mentally counted how many commercials Myeong Jeha had filmed.

“Huh? Ah, wait a second. Someone just called me from behind. What did you just say?”

“....”

Just as he was about to frown—

“But senior... are you doing romance?”

Thud.

Junseo’s heart dropped straight to the floor.

‘What is this...’

It sounded like a warning of sorts—she had done romance with Myeong Jeha, but Junseo shouldn’t.
