Fated to My Billionaire Husband

She offered Jian Yufei some snail meat, but Jian Yufei shook her head: ”I don’t like that. I just love this sour bamboo shoot.”

A plate of sour bamboo shoots was soon more than half gone by her.

Li Mingxi laughed and said: ”They say sour for boys and spicy for girls. You love sour so much; it’s surely a boy you’re expecting.”

Jian Yufei paused while picking up food.

She pulled out a napkin, wiped the corner of her mouth, and then chuckled.

”Let me tell you a secret, but you have to promise to keep it.”

Li Mingxi raised her eyebrows: ”What secret?”

”Promise to keep it first.”

”Okay, I promise you. Tell me, what is it?”

Jian Yufei smiled and said: ”Actually, I am not expecting a boy, it’s a girl. But Ruan Tianling is too petty and doesn’t want to share his daughter with others, so he made me keep it a secret, not allowing me to tell anyone.”

Li Mingxi’s eyes widened: ”Are there such childish men?!”

Jian Yufei nodded: ”I also find him so childish. He’s overly concerned about this daughter, and sometimes I can’t help but feel jealous.”

Li Mingxi said humorously: ”What’s the point of hiding it? The child will be born sooner or later, and by then it can’t be hidden.”

”Anyway, because he has a daughter, he’s too excited and that’s why he’s so childish. Once his excitement passes, I suppose it’ll be fine.”

Li Mingxi looked at Jian Yufei’s slightly bulging tummy, suddenly feeling a bit envious.

”Well, you’re having both a son and a daughter; this life could be considered perfect.”

Jian Yufei teased her: ”Get married sooner, and you’ll have kids too.”

Li Mingxi’s heart twitched a bit.

She doesn’t even have a second half of her life, how could she dare to want children?

”Cousin, I’m serious, when are you marrying Xiao Lang? I’m waiting to attend your wedding feast,” Jian Yufei added.

Li Mingxi rolled her eyes at her: ”If I get married, does it have to be with him?”

”Stop denying it. You still like him. If you don’t want to marry him, then who do you want to marry?”

”Eat! If you keep talking nonsense, I won’t accompany you to eat anymore!”

Jian Yufei shrank back slightly: ”Alright, let’s eat.”

They ate for quite a while, until they were full, and after a brief rest, decided to leave.

When Jian Yufei got up, she was a bit labored.

Li Mingxi quickly supported her: ”Are you okay?”

Jian Yufei laughed and said: ”I’m fine, just ate too much.”

Li Mingxi glanced at her stomach, which seemed a bit rounder, and teased her: ”Could it be that your belly’s just from eating too much every day?”

Jian Yufei laughed loudly, ”Perhaps.”

They opened the room door with laughter and were about to leave, when unexpectedly, they encountered Xiao Lang and Wen Ning coming their way.

”Brother Xiao, I think the dishes we had earlier were quite good, but...”

Wen Ning was smiling and talking to Xiao Lang, then she saw Li Mingxi ahead.

”Sister Mingxi, what a coincidence.” Wen Ning greeted her with a smile.

Xiao Lang’s deep gaze lingered on Li Mingxi for a moment, then looked at Jian Yufei.

”Are you here for a meal?” he softly asked Jian Yufei.

Jian Yufei nodded: ”Yeah, we just finished eating and are about to head back.”

”Was it satisfying? Did you get enough to eat?” Xiao Lang asked softly again.

His attitude towards Jian Yufei was kind and naturally intimate.

Wen Ning, not knowing Jian Yufei, couldn’t help but glance over, and upon seeing her bulging belly, felt a sense of relief.

Jian Yufei nodded with a smile: ”Very full, the food here is delicious.”

”Well, you all should head back; I have some things to do, so I’ll leave first.”
