Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Li Qian put down Doudou, letting him play on his own, and then looked at Li Mingxi: ”If you have any questions, feel free to ask.”

Li Mingxi indeed had many questions to ask.

”Does your family know about his existence?”

”No, they don’t.”

As expected, they didn’t know. If they did, they wouldn’t have set her up for blind dates.

”Why didn’t you tell them?”

Li Qian pondered for a moment and said, ”Actually, Doudou’s mom and I were classmates before, but at that time, my parents didn’t approve of us being together. They were strongly opposed.

Later, I took her abroad, planning to start a life there, but eventually, we broke up.

Then, three years later, I received a gift, which was Doudou. That’s when I learned she was pregnant when she left me.”

”Where is Doudou’s mother now?”

”I don’t know. I tried to find her but couldn’t. I only found out that there was a big fire at the place she stayed, and she seemed to have been seriously injured. She entrusted someone to bring Doudou to me, then she disappeared.” Li Qian said in a low voice.

Li Mingxi could sense that he still couldn’t forget Doudou’s mom.

”You can keep looking for her. I’m sure she needs you very much right now.”

”I searched for her for a year and am still looking. But I know that even if I find her, I can’t marry her.”

”Why?”

”She’s probably injured, or disabled. My parents would never accept her. The only thing I can do is take care of her; I can’t give her a status.”

Li Mingxi got a bit angry: ”Just because your family disapproves, you don’t dare to marry her?”

Li Qian laughed: ”My parents would never agree to me being with her.

They might accept Doudou, but they won’t accept her. No, maybe they wouldn’t even accept Doudou.

You don’t understand our family. For the sake of the family’s interests, they can even abandon me.

And then there’s my father. He’s in poor health and could die at any time, so I can’t provoke them right now.”

Is it the same for her, pressured by her family’s elders?

Li Qian continued: ”Moreover, the relationship between me and Doudou’s mom might not be able to return to the past.

But I can’t bear Doudou being wronged, which is why I haven’t married. If I could, I would choose to raise him alone.

But now it’s not possible. My parents insist I must marry this year. I can’t delay any longer.”

”Mingxi, I’m telling you this to make you think carefully. If you marry me, it would be like being a widow, you know that? Plus, my situation might be quite suitable for a woman who doesn’t want to get married.”

Li Mingxi laughed: ”You don’t want to get married, and neither do I. We’re both being forced. How did we end up in this situation?”

”Yes, when I heard you say you didn’t want to get married, I thought you fit the criteria for my marriage partner.

But many women say they don’t want to get married, though, deep down, they actually do.

It’s only after observing these past days that I knew you truly don’t want to get married. That’s why I dared to introduce you to Doudou.”

”What if after we marry, I fall in love with you?” Li Mingxi asked back.

Li Qian put on a troubled expression: ”That’s my concern too. If you fall in love with me, you’re bound to get hurt because I can’t reciprocate.”

”In your heart, you still like Doudou’s mom, don’t you?”

Li Qian’s expression stiffened slightly: ”Yes, I do like her, but many things can’t go back to the way they were.”
