Fated to My Billionaire Husband

After sending Li Mingchen away, she continued to wait for Xiao Lang.

She hadn’t waited long before Xiao Lang came out.

Seeing that she hadn’t left, he was very happy, and with a few big steps, he walked up to her.

”Are you waiting for me?” he asked foolishly, staring at her.

Li Mingxi rolled her eyes at him: ”Didn’t you ask me to wait?”

Xiao Lang smiled, bending his lips, and he took her hand, heading towards her car.

Li Mingxi pulled her hand away: ”What did you want to talk to me about? Go ahead, after this I’m going home.”

”Did you move back home?”

”Yeah.”

Xiao Lang opened the car door: ”Let’s go, I’ll take you home.”

Li Mingxi hadn’t driven here today; she had taken Li Mingchen’s car.

After forcing Li Mingchen to leave, late at night, she had no choice but to let Xiao Lang drive her.

The two of them got into the car, and Xiao Lang didn’t say anything. He started the car and left.

After driving a distance, he stopped the car again.

”Why did we stop?” Li Mingxi turned her head, asking in confusion.

Xiao Lang leaned lazily against the seat back and smiled faintly: ”I’m a bit tired, let me rest for a bit.”

Thinking of how he jumped into the ocean to save someone, he was surely exhausted; Li Mingxi believed him.

”Let me drive.”

”Did you bring your driver’s license?”

”...It’s late at night, no one checks licenses!”

”The problem is your outfit is too noticeable; you’re likely to be stopped.” Xiao Lang glanced at her dress.

He was right; driving in an evening dress, the traffic police would certainly suspect she was driving under the influence or driving in high heels.

Even though she always drove in high heels and had never been caught before, you can’t guarantee bad luck won’t strike.

”Just rest for ten minutes, I’ll definitely drive after ten minutes.” Xiao Lang said.

Li Mingxi leaned back to rest as well: ”Suit yourself.”

After a moment of silence, Xiao Lang broke it first: ”Aren’t you curious about what’s going on with me and Wen Ning?”

Li Mingxi looked at him briefly and then smiled: ”Why should I ask?”

Xiao Lang was struck dumb, grinding his teeth in frustration.

Does she have to be so indifferent to him?

”She accidentally fell into the sea.” Xiao Lang explained simply.

Wen Ning had confessed to him, and he had rejected her; there was no need to mention those things.

Suddenly, Li Mingxi asked: ”So what did you want to say to me?”

Earlier, Xiao Lang told her to wait, claiming he had something to tell her.

At this moment, Xiao Lang didn’t dare to say it; he was afraid of rejection.

In fact, rejection was certain.

But keeping it in was painful.

Li Mingxi saw his complex expression and somewhat guessed what he wanted to say.

She regretted asking, hoping he wouldn’t say it.

”I...” Xiao Lang finally spoke, ”I want to say, should we get married?”

Li Mingxi’s pupils dilated—

Xiao Lang looked at her resolutely: ”Mingxi, let’s get married. I know you don’t like me, but I still want to be with you. I want to take care of you for a lifetime. Rest assured, I won’t force you to do anything; even after we’re married, you’ll still be free, I won’t interfere with you, I just want to have a legitimate reason to take care of you.”

Li Mingxi’s hands trembled slightly.

Her expression remained calm: ”I’ve said it, I won’t marry in this lifetime.”

”Why?”

”I like living alone.”

Xiao Lang spoke urgently: ”I won’t interfere with anything you do; apart from our status changing, everything will be just like it is now.”

”Then why should I marry you?”

”I want to take care of you.”

”I don’t need anyone’s care.”

”But I want to care for you.”
