Fated to My Billionaire Husband

”What are you talking about?” Xiao Lang knew in his heart, but pretended not to.

Wen Ning looked out at the sea, too shy to meet his gaze.

Her hands were nervously clasped together, and after a while, she summoned the courage to speak.

”We’ve known each other for a while, what do you think of me?”

Xiao Lang refrained from blurting out any brainless comments like, ”You’re nice, you’re pretty, you’re a good girl.”

”Which aspects are you referring to?”

”Uh...”

Wen Ning was taken aback by his question, but she had already spoken, and there was no reason to give up halfway.

”I mean... me as a whole.”

”Miss Wen is excellent in various aspects, but as for other things, I don’t really know.”

”You think I’m good, right?” Wen Ning tilted her head, her eyes shining as she looked at him.

Xiao Lang’s expression remained calm: ”Miss Wen comes from a good family, has a good education, and is capable, so naturally you’re a good person.”

His response was quite standard, and Wen Ning didn’t know whether to feel disappointed or delighted.

”Brother Xiao, I won’t hide from you... Actually, since the moment I first saw you, I’ve liked you... I don’t know what you think of me, but I don’t want to keep my feelings hidden forever. I want... to know how you feel...”

Xiao Lang pressed his lips together, unsure of how to turn her down.

Wen Ning looked at him expectantly yet cautiously: ”Brother Xiao, you can speak directly, no matter what you say, I can accept it.”

Since she’d already said that, he didn’t have to wrestle with his thoughts.

”Miss Wen is one of the really decent girls I’ve met, but I don’t have those kinds of thoughts. I only see you as a friend, a partner.”

As expected, she was rejected...

Wen Ning’s face turned pale: ”In the future, Brother Xiao, could you consider me as someone you might date?”

”I’m sorry.”

”...” Wen Ning turned her head away, eyes glistening with tears, ”Brother Xiao, do you not like me at all? I can actually wait, you might not like me now, but you could fall for me later...”

”I have someone I like, and for the rest of my life, she’ll be the only one I love.” Xiao Lang said firmly.

Wen Ning’s body shuddered violently.

She really liked Xiao Lang; she had never met a man as good as him in her life.

But he liked someone else, and so much so, that it hurt her deeply.

This was the first time Wen Ning had ever liked someone, and it was also the first time she was rejected.

She didn’t know how to react at that moment, so she simply stared into the distance in a daze.

Xiao Lang furrowed his brow: ”Miss Wen, are you alright?”

”...”

”Miss Wen?”

Wen Ning snapped out of her daze: ”What’s up?”

Seeing her in so much pain, Xiao Lang sighed and said, ”Are you okay?”

”I... I’m fine...” Her voice was trembling and choppy.

Xiao Lang said, ”I’m really sorry, but I hope you won’t be too upset... Sorry, I’ll leave now.”

Xiao Lang turned to leave.

Wen Ning watched his back, as he was about to turn the corner and disappear, she suddenly felt as though she’d lost the whole world.

No, she couldn’t lose him, she couldn’t be without him!

”Brother Xiao, don’t go—” Wen Ning impulsively rushed forward but tripped over a rope underfoot, her body uncontrollably lunging forward.

Xiao Lang had just turned the corner when he suddenly heard the splash of something hitting the water.

”Help—help—” Wen Ning emerged from the sea, struggling in pain.

Xiao Lang quickly took off his suit and dove into the sea.

Soon, someone noticed this scene and shouted that someone had fallen into the sea.
