Fated to My Billionaire Husband

His gaze was profound, and Li Mingxi felt a sense of surrender after just two seconds of eye contact with him.

”So, who is being tormented?” Xiao Lang teased.

Li Mingxi grinned, ”Of course, you’re tormenting yourself.”

He thought she was drunk, and expected her to say she was tormenting herself.

Looks like he hoped in vain.

”I don’t think it’s torment.”

”Idiot!”

Xiao Lang chuckled lightly, ”You’re an idiot too.”

Li Mingxi’s heart suddenly fluttered, she quickly picked up her glass to drink, trying to hide her current feelings.

She’s not an idiot, she really isn’t...

The bottle was finished in no time, and Li Mingxi dissatisfiedly shook the empty bottle, ”Is there any more?”

”There is, but you’re drunk. You’re staying at my place tonight; I’m not responsible for taking you back.”

”Threatening me? I can drink a thousand glasses without getting drunk, don’t worry. Go get some more bottles.”

Xiao Lang had no choice but to get up and fetch another bottle.

Li Mingxi grabbed the bottle from him, chiding him for being stingy, ”You’re not allowed to drink this one. It’s all mine. If you want to drink, go fetch another bottle.”

She opened the bottle and drank straight from it.

Xiao Lang said nothing, leaning against the sofa, watching her intently.

His gaze was too intense, Li Mingxi found it unbearable.

”What are you looking at?” she glared at him.

Xiao Lang leaned forward slightly and said in a deep voice, ”I haven’t seen you like this before. What’s troubling you?”

”What do you mean, ’like this’?” Li Mingxi raised her head and smiled.

She originally had a towel wrapped around her head, but when she moved, it fell to the ground, her damp hair cascading down, and the air seemed to carry the fragrance of her hair.

Xiao Lang’s eyes darkened, ”Full of secrets, insecure, lonely.”

Li Mingxi’s face turned a shade paler.

”You think you know me?!”

”...”

Li Mingxi sneered, ”You don’t really know me; you don’t understand.”

”I understand you,” Xiao Lang said in a low tone.

Li Mingxi stared directly at him, ”Then tell me, what do you understand about me?”

”I know you’re strong, you’re kind, and you often say the opposite of what you mean.”

”Wrong! That’s not me, you don’t understand me.”

”That is you.”

”That’s just one side of me, not the whole of me.”

”But that’s still you. Whether it’s real or fake, it’s you,” Xiao Lang pointed out sharply.

Li Mingxi lowered her eyes and fell silent, holding the bottle and drinking.

After a while, she looked up and smiled, ”It’s truly pathetic. The person I least want to get close to is you, yet you’re the only one I can be utterly free with. Actually, I didn’t want to come here to drink with you...”

But who else could she turn to?

Li Mingxi took another sip, the wine coloring her lips red.

Watching her lips move, Xiao Lang felt the urge to kiss her.

Slowly rising, he walked over to her, squatting down in front of her.

Li Mingxi raised her eyes to meet his gaze, Xiao Lang’s voice was hoarse, ”I’m glad I can be your one and only.”

”What ’one and only’?” Li Mingxi didn’t quite understand.

Xiao Lang charmingly curled his lips, ”Didn’t you say I’m the only one you can be totally free with?”

”But not in the way you meant.”

”It all boils down to the same thing.”

”That’s not what I meant.”

”But you said ’the only one’.

Li Mingxi was bewildered by his words and reached out to slap his face.
