Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1836: Chapter 1836: I Am Not a Caged Bird

Mo Lan was too lazy to explain to him: ”Move aside, I’m not done yet.”

”What are you doing! If you keep at it, I’ll deal with you myself!” Qi Ruigang walked over and turned off the TV with a smack, sternly warning her.

”From today on, you’re not allowed to do any exercise; no dancing, not even loud singing, understand!”

Mo Lan was a bit displeased: ”You’re controlling too much, aren’t you?”

”If I don’t control you, you’ll get yourself into trouble?”

”What kind of trouble can I get into?”

It’s him who’s always causing trouble, installing surveillance cameras, or telling her what she can and can’t do.

Qi Ruigang had a half-smile: ”You know very well what kind of trouble.”

Mo Lan got up and went to drink water: ”I don’t know.”

At this point, she’s still pretending to be clueless.

Qi Ruigang didn’t dare pierce the veil, afraid that it would provoke her into breaking down. It’s better for both of them to play dumb, so she thinks he doesn’t know, and she won’t rush to get rid of the child.

Maybe over time, she’ll soften and decide to have the baby.

Qi Ruigang thought smugly, walking over to Mo Lan’s side to pour himself a glass of water as well.

”How can you not know? What you were doing just now was so dangerous, if you twisted your waist, wouldn’t you be asking for trouble?”

Mo Lan put down her cup and looked at him calmly: ”You’re right, I am asking for trouble. I have nothing to do, so I need to find something to do.”

She’s kept inside all day, not allowed to go out, can’t do anything, not even garden work. Aside from practicing yoga to exercise, what else can she do?

”You can watch TV, read books.” Qi Ruigang also put down his glass.

Mo Lan turned and sat down on the sofa: ”After so many years, I’m tired of reading books and watching TV.”

Her tone carried a faint weariness towards life and the world.

Qi Ruigang was also afraid she’d get depressed, and he’s heard that a bad mood in pregnant women affects fetal development.

He took large steps to sit beside her, ”Then what do you like to do?”

Mo Lan glanced at him: ”If I tell you what I like, will you let me do it?”

”Tell me, maybe I can satisfy you.” Qi Ruigang smiled faintly.

Mo Lan replied bluntly: ”I want to work.”

”That’s not possible!” Qi Ruigang rejected without a moment’s thought, ”Choose something else.”

”I just want to work.”

”You can choose another hobby, like painting, playing music...”

”Qi Ruigang, I’m not a caged bird.” Mo Lan cut him off coldly, ”I’m a person, I need work, socialization, to enrich myself. I’ve wasted many years, now I only want to work.”

Qi Ruigang pursed his lips: ”What’s wrong with being a caged bird? I can give you the best material life, there’s no need to work.”

Mo Lan sneered, ”You can say that, then you do it if you dare!”

”If I were a woman, I would do it.” Qi Ruigang said openly.

”...Why does it have to be a woman?”

”Men are responsible for earning money and supporting the family, women are responsible for being beautiful. You’re a woman, so you should do what a woman does.”

”...” Mo Lan was completely speechless with him.

But in this world, he’s probably the only one who thinks it’s only natural for women to just be beautiful.

”In this lifetime, I can’t communicate with you at all!”

Mo Lan stood up and headed upstairs, Qi Ruigang got up to follow her.
