Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1823: Chapter 1823: I Can Accept Punishment

Jian Yufei irritably brushed his hand away, her voice icy cold: ”Get out!”

”...” Ruan Tianling stared in disbelief with wide eyes.

He knew Jian Yufei cared about her face, that her mood would be terrible, so he tried to accommodate her, indulging her.

Even if she hit and scolded him, he wouldn’t frown.

But he had never expected that she would speak to him in such a cold, unfamiliar tone.

As if they were strangers, not lovers.

”Yufei...” Ruan Tianling started to speak, only to be interrupted by her, ”I told you to go out! If you won’t leave, I will!”

If Ruan Tianling listened and walked out obediently, he wouldn’t be Ruan Tianling.

He grabbed her shoulder forcefully, angrily questioning: ”What is going on with you?! From the beginning, you’ve been so cold and distant with me! If you have any dissatisfaction with me, just say it out loud, I can accept punishment! I just beg you not to stay silent, don’t let me stay ignorant about what I’ve done wrong!”

Jian Yufei frowned slightly, her eyes still so indifferent: ”I just want to be alone, can you stop bothering me?”

”Fine, how long do you want to be left alone? One hour, two hours, or three hours?”

”I don’t know.”

Ruan Tianling wouldn’t let her off easily: ”Give me a definite answer; how long exactly?”

Jian Yufei really wanted to say, a lifetime.

But seeing the uneasiness in his eyes, she couldn’t bear it.

”I’m feeling unwell, can you leave, please? Stop talking to me,” she said weakly.

Every time she spoke, it made her face hurt terribly.

Her face hurt so much already, couldn’t he stop pressing her?

Ruan Tianling realized this too, he compromised, ”Alright, don’t speak, I won’t ask anymore... Rest up, I’ll come to see you later.”

He leaned down to kiss her lips, Jian Yufei wanted to dodge, but held back.

Reluctantly, Ruan Tianling let her go and exited the hospital room.

But his face was very grim, his eyes filled with stormy turbulence.

”Boss, Nangong Xu’s people didn’t chase us down. Did they really let us go?” Sang Li approached and said.

Ruan Tianling clenched his fists; he really didn’t want to let Nangong Xu off.

But before they returned safely to A City, he couldn’t act recklessly.

In fact, if he and Nangong Xu were to clash, neither side would benefit.

However, Ruan Tianling wouldn’t engage in mutually detrimental actions.

His goal wasn’t revenge, but ensuring Jian Yufei and the others’ safety.

”Don’t be careless, continue to monitor their movements,” he said coldly.

”Yes!”

...

Ruan Tianling stood outside the hospital room for several hours, not leaving once.

Having finally reunited with Jian Yufei, yet unable to get close to her, how he felt inside, only he knew.

He didn’t understand why she was so cold towards him.

Was she blaming him for not rescuing her in time?

Indeed, she had been locked away for so long and was injured, yet he hadn’t saved her in time. She must be very angry and upset.

Moreover, the predicament they’re in now was entirely his fault.

If he hadn’t concealed his identity back then.

If he hadn’t concealed his identity, she wouldn’t have gone back on her own to confront Nangong Xu, wouldn’t have been captured, and wouldn’t have been hurt.

It was all his fault!

Her being mad at him was only right.

Ruan Tianling felt very remorseful and guilty; he planned to go in and apologize to Jian Yufei soon.
