From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

In the endless darkness, a figure moving at an extreme speed appeared before Li Yang in an instant.

He had mastered the teleportation profundity of the Space Law, allowing him to reach extreme speeds. The Wind Element he also wielded further boosted his swiftness. Thus, the moment he struck, the assassin Anyun was already in front of Li Yang.

”Human Li Yang, die!!!” Anyun’s face was ice-cold, his eyes devoid of any emotion.

The hatred between the Human Race and the Demon Race was practically carved into their very bones.

And to prevent the Human Race from growing stronger too quickly, they needed to continuously assassinate its geniuses.

At that moment, Anyun could almost see the scene of Li Yang’s death.

He was very confident in his own strength. With such a sudden attack, Li Yang’s protector, Hei Xu, would have no time to stop him.

’Such incredible speed!’

The moment darkness fell, Li Yang saw Anyun appear before him. This Anyun was even faster than the previous assassin, Blood Wolf—several times faster, in fact!

From the moment he struck to when he appeared, only an estimated ten-thousandth of a second had passed.

That short span of time was faster than most Deities could even react.

Before most Deities could even process what was happening, the target would likely already be dead.

’This assassin’s status must be much higher than the last one, right?’ Li Yang thought to himself.

His expression was glacial. There was no trace of panic on his face; he simply stared coldly at the attacking Anyun.

’Hmm? He’s not panicking?’

As Anyun closed in on Li Yang and saw his expression, his heart suddenly skipped a beat.

Given his surprise attack, the human Li Yang should have been panicking. Yet, he showed no reaction at all.

BOOM! BOOM!

Just as this thought surfaced, right when Anyun was about to reach Li Yang, two figures suddenly materialized out of thin air in front of him.

The power of a Four-Element Deity was ten times that of a Tri-System Deity. Anyun was fast, but Li Luo and Mu Xuan, who had been hiding all along, were naturally even faster!

A tenfold difference in speed was enough to eliminate any chance of an accident!

’Human Race experts!!!’

Anyun had already sensed that something was amiss, but he didn’t stop. If he had just a fraction more time, he could definitely kill Li Yang.

But when he saw the two people suddenly appear before Li Yang, his expression changed drastically.

’How is this possible? I was paying close attention to my surroundings, and no experts from the Human Race approached. Where did these two come from?’

Anyun’s face paled.

He was confident in his own soul perception, yet he hadn’t detected these two Human Race experts at all.

There was only one possibility: these two had been hiding inside a Spatial Attribute treasure the entire time, just like him.

”Alien Race assassin, you dare attempt to kill a genius of our Human Race. Perish.” After appearing, Li Luo and Mu Xuan’s expressions were cold and merciless, the powerful auras radiating from them completely overwhelming Anyun.

Fighting above one’s realm was possible, but it was clearly something Anyun could not do.

After all, while geniuses could fight above their level, anyone who became a Tri-System or Four-Element Deity was, in fact, a genius.

Someone who could contend with a Four-Element Deity as a Tri-System Deity would be an absolute prodigy among geniuses. The Demon Race would never send such an expert on an assassination mission.

Therefore, facing Li Luo and Mu Xuan, Anyun could only be crushed.

’I’ve failed.’

Feeling the immense pressure crushing down on him and watching Li Luo and Mu Xuan charge at him, Anyun already knew the outcome.

However, there was no fear on Anyun’s face. His furious voice echoed through the void, ”What a move, Human Race! For a mere Star Lord Realm genius, not only did you assign a Tri-System Deity to protect him, but you also had two Four-Element Deities hiding in a Spatial Attribute treasure as close-quarters bodyguards! My loss was not unjust!”

Anyun roared in fury.

Obviously, in his eyes, the sudden appearance of Li Luo and Mu Xuan meant they were also Li Yang’s protectors!

Blood Wolf’s failure last time was likely for the same reason.

Anyun felt aggrieved. The Human Race was truly... Who protects a genius like this?

One Tri-System Deity and two Four-Element Deities protecting a single Star Lord Realm...

In the future, Li Yang might only ever reach the Four-Element Deity realm.

A Four-Element Deity was considered an absolute mid-tier expert, whether in the Human Race or their Demon Race.

Among races like the Thunder Spirit Race, they were practically upper-echelon.

And yet, experts of this caliber were lowering themselves to hide and wait for assassins like them to show up.

HUM...

After he finished speaking, a powerful soul suddenly erupted from Anyun’s body before completely dissipating. At the same time, the aura fluctuations around him receded like a tide.

Knowing he had failed, Anyun chose to directly obliterate his own soul.

The assassination began abruptly, but it also ended quickly.

In just a few short seconds, the darkness faded away. The area returned to normal, with no changes other than the addition of the Tri-System Deity Anyun’s corpse.

”Was the human Li Yang just assassinated?”

”Is the assassin this dead Deity before us?”

”The fluctuations from this dead Deity just now were no weaker than our clan’s Elder Yuan Ye. He must have been a Tri-System Deity.”

”The human Li Yang didn’t die. Other experts from the Human Race must have intervened.”

The eyes of the Thunder Spirit Race youths were filled with shock as they stared at Anyun’s body.

In such a short time, a Tri-System Deity had died because of Li Yang.

In their Thunder Spirit Race, a Tri-System Deity held an extremely high status.

At this moment, they finally realized the significance of Li Yang’s identity.

”The human Li Yang was assassinated at the entrance to our Thunder Spirit Race territory. Will we... Will the Thunder Spirit Race get into trouble for this?”

...

SWOOSH!

At the entrance, Elder Yuan Ye flew over, his expression shifting slightly.

’These Alien Races are really... relentless in their attempts to assassinate Li Yang.’

Elder Yuan Ye was shocked. He glanced at Li Luo and Mu Xuan standing beside Li Yang.

’The Alien Races want to kill the Human Race’s monstrous genius, but the Human Race is playing chess. They sent two Four-Element Deities to protect Li Yang, ready to kill any alien who shows up.’

Elder Yuan Ye had also heard Anyun’s final words.

It was clear that Elder Yuan Ye now also believed that Li Luo and Mu Xuan had been specially assigned by the Human Race to protect Li Yang in secret.

A genius like Li Yang was bound to be the target of assassinations, so the Human Race had turned the tables, sending top-tier experts. It seemed entirely plausible.

While thinking this, Elder Yuan Ye quickly flew to Li Yang’s side and said apologetically, ”Young Master Li Yang, about this assassination...”

”Elder Yuan Ye, don’t worry. This has nothing to do with the Thunder Spirit Race,” Li Yang said directly upon hearing his words.

With his power, he could overhear some of the discussions around him.

’These Thunder Spirit Race members probably all think Li Luo and Mu Xuan are my protectors, don’t they?’

Li Yang mused. Once this news spread, the Demon Race probably wouldn’t send any more experts to kill him.

And he wouldn’t be able to pick up any more easy kills.

Li Yang felt a sense of regret about this.
