From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

With that in mind, Li Yang sent a telepathic message to Hei Xu. ”Hei Xu, my treasure—the one that can detect the auras of the powerful—just found a Tri-System Deity hiding on this planet...”

Li Yang quickly explained the situation to Hei Xu.

”A Tri-System Deity?”

Hearing Li Yang’s words, Hei Xu’s expression remained unchanged, but his heart skipped a beat.

’These Alien Races really are dead set on killing Li Yang, sending one Tri-System Deity after another.’

Hei Xu wasn’t surprised that Li Yang had discovered the threat; after all, Li Yang was the one who had detected the last alien assassin. The treasure he possessed was a source of amazement even for Hei Xu.

He had never seen a treasure like it.

But after the first time, Hei Xu now had no reason to doubt Li Yang’s words.

Hei Xu sent a telepathic reply, ”Li Yang, let’s find an excuse to go back inside the Thunder Spirit Race’s territory. Then we’ll contact Li Luo and the others.”

He was only a Tri-System Deity himself and couldn’t guarantee Li Yang’s safety one hundred percent of the time. He needed to find more backup.

”Right.” Li Yang nodded. He was thinking the same thing.

The key issue was that it would take a full day for Li Luo to arrive from the distant Human Race territory. If he wanted to deal with the alien, he couldn’t just wander around outside for a whole day, could he?

In that much time, the alien would have likely already found an opportunity to strike.

The best solution was still to return to the Thunder Spirit Race’s territory and wait for Li Luo and the others to arrive before coming back out.

With this in mind, Li Yang looked at the smiling Elder Yuan Ye and suddenly said, ”Oh, right, Elder Yuan Ye. Something just occurred to me. I have a small favor to ask, if you don’t mind?”

”Oh? Mr. Li Yang, please, feel free to ask. If it’s within my power, I will certainly help.”

Elder Yuan Ye replied with a smile upon hearing Li Yang’s words.

Inwardly, Elder Yuan Ye added, ’As long as it doesn’t involve entering the Thunder Pool, anything is negotiable.’

”It’s like this.”

Li Yang paused for a moment before continuing, ”I now have some Evil Qi Crystal Stones, so I’ll definitely be cultivating with Evil Qi. I was wondering if the Thunder Spirit Race has any secret manuals regarding their use—how to better absorb them, and so on. I’d like to trade for some of these manuals?”

When it came to cultivating with Evil Qi, the Thunder Spirit Race was undoubtedly the strongest. They would surely have a wealth of experience passed down regarding the use of Evil Qi Crystal Stones.

Having that experience would certainly be more effective than figuring it out on his own.

Using this as an excuse to re-enter the Thunder Spirit Race’s territory, no one would be suspicious.

”Well...”

At this, Elder Yuan Ye nodded and said, ”Mr. Li Yang, the Thunder Spirit Race does indeed have some manuals on cultivating with Evil Qi Crystal Stones. However, they aren’t considered very valuable. If you’re interested, I can simply give you some.”

Hearing this, Li Yang didn’t stand on ceremony and smiled. ”Then I’d be very grateful.”

”Haha, it’s a small matter,” Elder Yuan Ye laughed.

Experience with absorbing Evil Qi Crystal Stones and the like wasn’t actually precious information. Within their race, anyone could basically read up on it for free.

When cultivating with Evil Qi Crystal Stones, those with strong physical Talent could absorb a bit more, while those with weaker physical Talent absorbed a bit less. Ultimately, it mostly depended on the individual.

The experience-based manuals only provided a tiny bit of help.

But since Li Yang wanted them, there was no harm in giving him some.

As they spoke, the group turned and headed back.

...

The soul of the Alien Race assassin, Anyun, had been monitoring the area the entire time and could hear everything Li Yang and the others were saying.

Under Anyun’s watch, Li Yang had flown out, stated his desire to trade for manuals on Evil Qi Crystal Stones, and then re-entered the Thunder Spirit Race’s territory.

Seeing this, Anyun frowned slightly.

’This Li Yang wants to make a trip to the Thunder Spirit Race’s library of manuals? Why didn’t he ask to trade for them earlier?’

Li Yang could have easily brought up trading for the Evil Qi Crystal Stone cultivation manuals while he was still inside the Thunder Spirit Race’s territory.

But he waited until he was just about to leave before saying anything.

Anyun mused silently, ’Could it be that the human, Li Yang, has discovered something? Or has he become wary?’

The first thought appeared, only to be quickly dismissed.

Anyun was confident in his soul techniques. To detect him, a powerful Emperor specializing in the soul would have to be stationed on this very planet. Only then could his presence be fully discovered.

The Thunder Spirit Race specialized in the physical body; their proficiency in soul-related arts was, frankly, not strong.

’As for a Human Race Emperor happening to be here protecting Li Yang—is that even possible?’

’With Li Yang’s current Talent, there is only a high probability he will break through to the Emperor realm in the future, not a one-hundred-percent certainty.’

’The Emperor realm isn’t so easy to break into. The Human Race hasn’t seen a new Emperor-level expert in a very long time.’

’An expert of that level would be considered part of the upper echelon in any race!’

Anyun suppressed the thought and concluded, ’It doesn’t matter if the human, Li Yang, has noticed something amiss. My soul is constantly monitoring the surroundings. If other experts from the Human Race arrive, I can just abort the mission. I will only strike after confirming there are no other human experts present.’

His soul was completely merged with the void, observing not only the entrance to the Thunder Spirit Race’s territory but also blanketing an immensely vast area around it.

Every single movement in the vicinity was under his control!

If a Human Race expert arrived, he would be the first to know!

Whether to strike or to continue waiting for an opportunity was a decision he could make in an instant.

’I’ll just wait patiently!’

The assassin waited, biding his time for the human, Li Yang, to emerge once more.

...

Meanwhile, after re-entering the Thunder Spirit Race’s territory, Li Yang and Hei Xu immediately contacted Li Luo and Mu Xuan.

They were the ones who had helped kill the Werewolf Race assassin last time.

”Li Yang, the hidden Tri-System Deity’s soul is covering a very large area. You need to factor that into your plan this time. Otherwise, the moment your backup enters the assassin’s soul-detection range, they’ll be discovered. He might just call off the attack immediately.” Soul Ink’s voice once again echoed in Li Yang’s mind as he was contacting his allies.

”Soul-detection?” Hearing this, Li Yang nodded. ”Got it.”

’For instance, the Werewolf Race assassin who tried to kill me first wasn’t skilled with soul techniques, which is why he failed to notice Li Luo and Mu Xuan’s arrival. But this time, if they were to arrive openly as they did before, the current assassin would definitely discover them.’

With that in mind, Li Yang and Hei Xu quickly established contact with Li Luo and Mu Xuan.

”Li Yang, you’re saying another assassin from the Alien Race has shown up?”

In the Virtual World, upon hearing Li Yang’s report, Li Luo replied without hesitation, ”We’re not far from the Thunder Spirit Race’s territory. We can be there in about an hour.”

Previously, during the incident with the Star Moon Race, they had hesitated slightly when Li Yang asked for their help, but now they didn’t even have to think about it.

Setting aside the favor they’d be doing for Li Yang, they had earned significant merit for taking down the last Tri-System Deity from the Alien Race.

This time, the Alien Race was serving up another free kill on a platter, and they certainly weren’t going to refuse.
