From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

Elder Yuan Ye blocked his line of sight, and Li Yang understood his intention.

He didn’t say anything, simply withdrawing his gaze.

He smiled and nodded. ”Alright.”

Without another thought, Li Yang turned and headed for the exit of the Thunder Spirit Race’s territory.

...

WHIMPER...

Inside the Thunder Pool, a small lightning snake lingered amidst countless bolts of electricity. Its gaze seemed to follow Li Yang, its eyes filled with sorrow, sad that he wasn’t taking it with him.

Ahem.

At that moment, by the edge of the Thunder Pool, Wuxu Emperor and several other powerful Emperors were trying to build a rapport with the little lightning snake.

”Hey, little guy, is there anything you need?”

”Hey, little guy, I have a lightning-element treasure right here. Want a bite?”

”Little one...”

The Emperors tried their best to curry favor, their faces plastered with smiles.

This was no joke. The lightning spirit was the very consciousness of the Thunder Pool. If they could win it over, their Thunder Spirit Race would gain complete control over this incredible treasure!

After all, even the strongest of the Thunder Spirit Race, Wuxu Emperor himself, didn’t dare to touch the lightning in the Thunder Pool’s depths. That alone showed just how terrifying it was!

If he could wield the Thunder Pool to its full potential, Wuxu Emperor was confident he could become a supreme hegemon among Emperors! He estimated that only a Sovereign would be able to suppress him.

So how could they not try to curry favor?

This was about a quantum leap in the power of their entire Thunder Spirit Race!

But the little lightning snake ignored their attempts to curry favor. Seeing Li Yang turn to leave, it dove directly into the Thunder Pool and vanished.

Wuxu Emperor and the others could only watch, feeling both helpless and powerless.

They didn’t dare get angry; there was absolutely nothing they could do about the little lightning snake.

The Emperors lingered awkwardly, trying again to communicate with the little lightning snake, but to no avail.

After a long moment, they finally gave up.

After a moment of silence, Wuxu Emperor looked at Emperor Xu Lun and asked, ”Has the human, Li Yang, left yet?”

”He just left.” Emperor Xu Lun nodded. ”He should be nearing the entrance to our territory by now.”

”Mm.”

Wuxu Emperor said in a low voice, ”Send out the order. An incident has occurred in our clan’s Thunder Pool. It will not be opened again for the next one hundred million years. Everyone else, especially the human Li Yang, is strictly forbidden from approaching it!”

”Understood.” At his side, Emperor Xu Lun and the others all nodded.

...

Li Yang, of course, had no way of knowing what Wuxu Emperor and the others had said. He had already reached the entrance to the Thunder Spirit Race’s territory.

The entrance to the Thunder Spirit Race’s territory was on a cold, desolate planet. And on this very planet, a member of the Thunder Spirit Race was keeping a close watch on the area.

This member of the Thunder Spirit Race carried a peculiar stone. If one were to immerse their consciousness completely within it, they would see that the stone contained a world of its own, and within that stone world pulsed the aura of a powerful life form!

It was a figure with skin of a deep crimson.

Another assassin from the Alien Race!

After the first assassination attempt on Li Yang failed, Wilderness of the Demon Race had arranged a second. This crimson figure was the expert sent to carry it out!

Anyun, a Tri-System Deity, wielded the Space Law, Wind Element Law, and Dark Law. All three of these laws were perfectly suited for assassination!

The race Anyun belonged to excelled at assassination! The moment they struck, they could eliminate their target in a ten-thousandth of a second!

They were a powerful trump card the Demon Race had planted in other races, boasting an assassination success rate of ninety percent!

In other words, if Anyun’s race were to assassinate ten geniuses from the Human Race, nine of them would be successful!

’Once the human, Li Yang, emerges and I confirm there are no other experts from the Human Race nearby, I will strike.’

Anyun, hidden within the stone, thought to himself, ’Human Li Yang, you will die!’

He released a faint trace of his soul to probe the surroundings.

The primary reason Anyun’s race excelled at assassination lay in their souls. Their souls could merge almost perfectly with the void, allowing their probes to go undetected even by some Emperors.

Furthermore, their physical bodies could merge with stone or earth, making them nearly impossible to spot.

With physical bodies that could meld into stone at will and souls that were difficult for even some Emperors to detect, their assassination success rate reached ninety percent! This held true even when their targets—geniuses of the Human Race—were under the protection of Deities, as long as they chose the right moment to strike.

’Hm?’

As he was probing with his soul, a flicker of delight suddenly appeared in Anyun’s eyes.

’The human, Li Yang, is out?’

A wisp of his soul, merged with the void, silently watched as Li Yang flew out of the entrance.

From his position outside the entrance, it would be difficult for even the Emperors of the Thunder Spirit Race to detect his soul, even if they were looking right through the gateway.

...

’I’m out.’

Looking at the desolate planet before him, Li Yang sighed inwardly.

’After leaving the Star Moon Race, I rushed straight to the Thunder Spirit Race. In the blink of an eye, another six years have passed.’

’Hm?’

Just as he was lost in thought, Li Yang’s soul suddenly stirred. He seemed to have sensed something.

’Is another soul probing me?’

Back when he left the Star Moon Race’s territory, the Alien Race assassin, Blood Wolf, had tried to kill him.

So now, upon leaving the Thunder Spirit Race, Li Yang was far more vigilant. His entire soul was on high alert, carefully scanning his surroundings.

And with such heightened vigilance, he seemed to have actually detected a faint trace of another soul watching him.

Though his heart stirred, Li Yang’s expression remained calm. He asked mentally, ”Soul Ink, I just detected a faint soul fluctuation. Has the Alien Race sent another assassin?”

’The first assassination failed. The Alien Race wouldn’t just give up; they’d definitely try to find another way to kill me.’

”Not bad, kid. Very sharp.”

Soul Ink’s expression was calm as he gave Li Yang some unhurried praise. He nodded. ”That’s right. There is indeed an Alien Race assassin on this planet. A Tri-System Deity, no less. Right now, he’s hidden on the body of a young member of the Thunder Spirit Race.”

He had completely seen through Anyun’s disguise, even discerning his exact location and strength.

In truth, Anyun’s soul was so unique that when he concealed his probes, even some Emperors would have difficulty detecting them.

Although Li Yang’s soul was perfected, his cultivation realm was too low—only the Star Lord Realm—so he had only sensed a slight anomaly.

If he were to break through to the World Realm, he would be able to fully detect Anyun’s soul probe.

’Just as I thought! These Alien Races still haven’t given up.’ Hearing this, Li Yang’s heart turned cold.

’But since they’ve come, they can come here to die!’

No matter how good an Alien Race assassin’s disguise was, Soul Ink could see through it in a single glance.

And within the territory of the Human Race, an exposed Alien Race assassin had only one fate!
