From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

”Oh? What kind of life-form is it related to?” Li Yang pressed.

”I’m not entirely sure,” Soul Ink said. ”I only know that the life-form is incredibly powerful! It seems the creature stayed on a planet, and the aura it left behind was able to slowly form Dragon Scale Insects.”

”What?” Li Yang was stunned when he heard this.

’Just an aura can form a Dragon Scale Insect? That’s too strange.’

”Li Yang, your strength is still very weak right now,” Soul Ink said calmly. ”In this Cosmos, anything strange can happen. Don’t be so surprised.”

Li Yang was speechless. Soul Ink clearly didn’t know the answer and was trying to change the subject.

However, Li Yang didn’t press the issue. He looked at the stone in his hand, a hint of anticipation in his eyes.

’I wonder if I can refine it?’

’Even someone at the Peak of World Realm can increase their strength fivefold by refining one. My strength is nowhere near the Peak of World Realm yet. If I can refine it, my strength will surely increase by even more.’

Pressing his right hand against the stone, which resembled a small bug, Li Yang tried to absorb it.

WENG...

The Dragon Scale Insect seemed to sense Li Yang’s fluctuations. It trembled slightly, and then Li Yang clearly felt wisps of energy from it begin to pour into his body.

’I can absorb it!’

Realizing this, Li Yang’s face immediately lit up with joy.

Jun Yue had said that some people could absorb it and some couldn’t. ’I’m one of the former!’

His Cultivation Technique began to circulate, and wisps of energy were continuously drawn into Li Yang’s body. He became completely immersed in the process.

He didn’t notice that the Dragon Scale Insect stone in his hand was slowly shrinking.

’How is Li Yang absorbing the Dragon Scale Insect this fast?’

Soul Ink watched the state of the Dragon Scale Insect in Li Yang’s hand, a peculiar look in its eyes.

’For an ordinary World Realm expert, even taking a few hundred years to absorb a Dragon Scale Insect would be considered fast.’

’It takes hundreds of years to refine a single small stone. After just a few years of refining, there would probably be no discernible change to the stone at all.’

’But the Dragon Scale Insect in Li Yang’s hand is shrinking at a rate visible to the naked eye.’

’This means Li Yang’s refining speed is incredibly fast!’

’There are people who can refine Dragon Scale Insects quickly, but their speed could never reach this level.’

’The World Tree clone, the naturally born Deity clone... the Dragon Scale Insect... This Li Yang definitely has a huge secret!’ Soul Ink’s gaze shifted as it thought to itself.

’It’s not a fool. In its interactions with Li Yang, it clearly sensed that he was extraordinary.’

’But what is this secret?’

Soul Ink pondered secretly. ’I’ve been by Li Yang’s side this whole time, but I can’t figure out what his secret is at all.’

’Logically, a weak young man like Li Yang should be someone I can see through at a single glance. It should be impossible for him to have any secrets from me.’

While it was pondering, Li Yang continued to refine the stone. This process went on for seven days.

Finally, when Li Yang felt he could no longer refine it, he stopped.

”Huh? The Dragon Scale Insect got a little smaller?” Li Yang looked at the stone in his hand, a curious look in his eyes.

The stone in his hand was now about one-tenth smaller in volume.

”Li Yang, the part that’s missing has been refined by you. Try channeling your power and see what your strength is like now,” Soul Ink said at that moment.

”Alright.” Li Yang nodded. He clenched his right fist, sensing his own strength.

Previously, Li Yang’s strength relied on deploying the laws. By channeling them through a series of attacks, he could amplify the might of the laws several times over.

For example, if the might of the laws he comprehended was 1, then by using the Hexagram Spear, that might could reach 5. And by using the Destruction Spear Skill left behind by the Profound Destruction Dominator, that might could possibly reach 20.

This was why everyone had a primary method of attack they specialized in!

The more powerful the method of attack, the greater the might one could unleash from their own strength!

However, although different attacks allowed him to exert his strength differently, the laws Li Yang had comprehended remained unchanged at the same level. In other words, his foundation remained the same.

But now, he felt that his very foundation had undergone a change!

After channeling the laws, a strange energy merged into them.

BOOM!

After this strange energy merged, the might of the laws he comprehended instantly surged, increasing by several times!

’Without relying on any attack techniques, my foundational law power has increased this much...’

A look of amazement appeared in Li Yang’s eyes. ”The might has increased by about four times!”

He clenched his right fist, and the Hexagram Spear appeared in his hand.

Then, a flash of spear light shot out.

’This attack has also increased fourfold!’

As the foundational might of his laws surged, his overall strength clearly surged right along with it!

Li Yang was stunned. ’How many days has it been?’

’In seven days, my overall strength has increased fourfold?’

After being stunned for a few seconds, Li Yang was overcome with a pleasant surprise. He stared with a fervent gaze at the stone before him, which had shrunk by a tenth!

”A treasure! This Dragon Scale Insect is truly a treasure! No wonder those World Realm experts fight so madly over them!”

Once your strength reaches a certain level, it becomes very difficult to improve it any further!

But by simply refining a Dragon Scale Insect, one’s strength could increase dramatically. What World Realm expert wouldn’t desire that?

”Hmm, not bad. Your strength has increased by about four times. Li Yang, it seems you are very well-suited to refining Dragon Scale Insects,” Soul Ink’s voice came from within his mind.

Despite its calm words, Soul Ink was also clearly very surprised.

”I didn’t expect it either,” Li Yang said with a smile.

He then checked on the status of his other clones.

’The strength of my other clones hasn’t changed.’

For now, only his main body had refined a portion of the Dragon Scale Insect; his other clones had not.

Therefore, his main body’s strength was now undoubtedly the greatest.

’Should I let my clones absorb the Dragon Scale Insect after I get back?’

Li Yang considered it. If his clones could absorb it, their strength would surely surge as well.

However, the thought only lasted for a few seconds before disappearing.

This was because Li Yang felt that as his own strength increased, he could continue to absorb the Dragon Scale Insect!

”Hm?”

As he was thinking, Li Yang looked outside.

”We’ve reached Earth?” A look of joy appeared in Li Yang’s eyes.

...

「Golden Moon Empire, Milky Way Galaxy, Earth.」

As news of Li Yang passing the twelfth step of the Deities’ Path continued to spread, Earth had undoubtedly become even more bustling, with people from other civilizations constantly arriving.

At this moment, above an ocean on Earth, Li Guohai, Zhao Rou, and others were waiting.

”Why isn’t Yangyang back yet?” Zhao Rou couldn’t help but ask.

Beside her, Li Guohai said helplessly, ”You’ve already said that several times.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rou immediately shot Li Guohai a glare and said, ”Are you saying I’m nagging? I just want to see my son, that’s all!”

Meeting in the Virtual World and meeting in reality still felt completely different to everyone.

It had been nearly forty years since Li Yang joined the Human Race’s Eternal Saint Hall. He hadn’t returned at all during that time, and he had even disappeared for twenty years in the middle of it. Of course she missed him.

Hearing Zhao Rou’s words, Li Guohai sighed helplessly and immediately fell silent.

SWOOSH!

Suddenly, a flyer appeared, and a young man and a middle-aged man flew out from it.

’I’m back.’ Looking at the familiar ocean, Li Yang’s heart filled with nostalgia.
