From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

”A Dominator’s fortuitous encounter?”

Beside them, the Deity Xuan Mo also heard what Li Yang said. A flicker of shock was evident in his eyes, quickly followed by a hint of envy.

Even he had never come across such an opportunity.

”Li Yang, your luck is simply heaven-defying!”

Xuan Mo sighed in admiration. ”In these twenty years, plus the offensive inheritance from a Dominator, your progress must have been immense, Li Yang, right? I bet you could even pass the tenth step on the Path of Deities now.”

Before, Li Yang’s rate of progress already surpassed Lan Yu’s. With a Dominator-level fortuitous encounter on top of that, just how much could he have improved?

Lan Yu can currently last for four minutes in the space of the tenth step on the Path of Deities. As for Li Yang, he should be able to pass the tenth step directly.

”Oh?”

Hearing Xuan Mo’s words, the Blade Slaughter Sect Master’s eyes also lit up as he looked at Li Yang.

’This disciple of mine must be very strong now, right?’

Under the questioning gaze of the Blade Slaughter Sect Master, Li Yang said respectfully, ”Teacher, this disciple is confident he can pass the tenth step on the Path of Deities.”

”As long as you’re confident.” The Blade Slaughter Sect Master was clearly delighted.

He suddenly changed the subject. ”I heard from Xuan Mo that you just went to see your family. Is everything alright with them?”

The Blade Slaughter Sect Master was Li Yang’s teacher, but he knew very little about Earth. It was impossible for him to pay special attention to a single planet like that.

He didn’t even care much for his own family clan.

Blade Slaughter had become a Deity so long ago he couldn’t even remember. His true relatives, like his parents and children, were all long gone.

Only by becoming a Deity could one achieve eternal life; otherwise, they would eventually turn to a pile of dust.

The difficulty of becoming a Deity was immense. Blade Slaughter’s parents and children had all failed and died of old age.

Although the family clan Blade Slaughter belonged to still had many descendants, he felt no deep connection to them. Aside from a select few, he had never even met the vast majority.

If he didn’t even care much for his own family, why would he care about Li Yang’s home, Earth?

He wasn’t the only one; most of the Deities in the Human Race’s Eternal Saint Hall were the same. Sometimes, bidding farewell to the dying was the hardest thing to bear.

Watching people they cared for deeply pass away was a feeling these Deities, who had lived for countless years, had no desire to experience again.

They would rather stay within the Saint Hall with other Deities than return to their old homes.

Because the Deities they knew in the Saint Hall could exist eternally, just like them.

Even someone like Li Yang, who cared deeply for his family now, only truly cared for his current family.

Imagine if, ten thousand years from now, the Li family had grown into a massive clan. Would Li Yang care for every single one of them? That was obviously impossible.

Hearing the Sect Master’s question, Li Yang replied, ”Something happened on my home planet. An enemy of mine specifically came to suppress Earth.”

Upon hearing this, the Blade Slaughter Sect Master nodded and said, ”It seems your enemies lost all restraint when the news of your death spread. Li Yang, this is how the Cosmos is. If you’re not strong, you’ll be bullied. Earth has only produced one genius like you; it’s difficult for even a single Law Realm expert to emerge from your people. Even without enemies, you would still be easily oppressed when coming into contact with other planets.”

He still knew a little about Earth’s situation, aware that it was previously a Planet Zero that had no contact with the rest of the Cosmos.

”Right now, your potential is limitless. In the future, when you become an expert—and when other experts begin to appear on Earth—no one will dare to oppress you anymore.”

”Back then, the planet I came from was also incredibly weak. It grew stronger, one step at a time.”

”What you need to do now is grow, step by step, and wait for your planet to become stronger and stronger.”

After speaking, the Blade Slaughter Sect Master added, ”You just said you could pass the tenth step on the Path of Deities. Then go and do it. Display your Talent! The greater the Talent you reveal, the more the Saint Hall will value you! And the fewer people will dare to bully Earth.”

Strength is one form of deterrence, but potential is another!

In terms of raw strength, Li Yang might not be considered powerful right now. Never mind a Deity, even someone at the Peak of World Realm could kill him in an instant.

But in terms of potential, Li Yang was absolutely at the very top!

As a genius highly valued by the Human Race’s Eternal Saint Hall, Li Yang’s current status far surpassed that of an ordinary Deity!

”I know, Teacher.”

Li Yang nodded. ”This disciple had the same intention.”

He had just been forming a plan in his mind, and the first step was to go to the steps of the Path of Deities.

”Good. Go on, Li Yang,” the Blade Slaughter Sect Master said with a smile.

Li Yang nodded. With a thought, his consciousness directly entered the space of the steps of the Path of Deities in the Virtual World.

Seeing Li Yang’s consciousness enter the Virtual World, Xuan Mo smiled. ”Blade Slaughter, now that your disciple has come out of Lingyue World alive, you should spread the news. Otherwise, once Li Yang passes the tenth step on the Path of Deities, a lot of people will probably come looking for you.”

”Don’t worry.”

The Blade Slaughter Sect Master smiled calmly. ”I’ve already sent the message.”

He did it on his way here.

...

At this moment, the numerous experts of the Human Race received the Blade Slaughter Sect Master’s message and were all clearly a little surprised.

”Li Yang came out of Lingyue World alive?”

”Haha, I knew that kid Li Yang wouldn’t die so easily.”

”Let me ask for the details... Oh, Li Yang actually encountered a fortuitous opportunity left behind by a Dominator-level expert in Lingyue World! He obtained a spear technique!”

”No wonder Blade Slaughter couldn’t find him.”

”It’s best that he didn’t perish. Mixed Void, Lan Yu, and Li Yang, our three great geniuses... Mixed Void passed the twelfth step on the Path of Deities seventeen years ago and has already left the Saint Hall. Lan Yu lasted for four minutes on the tenth step. As for Li Yang... his previous rate of progress surpassed Lan Yu’s. He should be able to pass the tenth step now, right?”

”Not sure.”

”Blade Slaughter said Li Yang is about to test his strength on the steps of the Path of Deities.”

”Let’s go take a look!”

”Haha, that kid Li Yang always manages to stun everyone. After twenty years, I believe he can definitely pass the tenth step.”

...

Despite their surprise, the experts of the Human Race were all very happy.

As a peerless genius of the Human Race, they of course hoped he would grow to his full potential, not perish along the way.

And upon learning that Li Yang was about to test his strength, many of them were immediately intrigued.

After all, Li Yang was a genius who surpassed Lan Yu, second only to Mixed Void.

In these twenty years, even Lan Yu had made immense progress.

Twenty years ago, Li Yang only had the strength to barely pass the ninth step. What level had his strength reached now?
