From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

SWISH!

Li Yang’s figure flickered, and he appeared in the next space.

This was the space of the eleventh step!

Within the space was an enormous, ox-like demonic beast with eight legs. The beast radiated intense fluctuations of the Space Law!

The eleventh step corresponded to the World Realm!

One law, four mysteries. Only by truly mastering one of the four mysteries could one break through to the World Realm.

Therefore, this demonic beast must have already completely mastered one of the law’s mysteries.

’Which mystery of the Space Law is it? Spatial Domain? Teleportation? Space Freeze? Spatial Collapse?’ Li Yang wondered silently.

”Li Yang, do you wish to fight?”

”Fight!”

As soon as he spoke, the Space Law around the enormous demonic beast began to fluctuate. Li Yang felt everything around him fall silent as the entire space solidified.

’Space Freeze?’

Feeling the fluctuation, Li Yang identified it instantly.

This was the full execution of the Space Freeze mystery. Any Star Lord would be terrified, completely unable to resist. But Li Yang, a mere Longevity Realm cultivator, felt no fear at all.

ROAR!

After casting Space Freeze, the eight-legged, ox-like beast let out a low roar and charged at Li Yang. Its massive hoof, like a small mountain, stomped down, threatening to crush him to pieces.

Faced with such an attack, Li Yang’s expression remained unchanged.

CRACK!

With a shattering sound, the entire space cracked like a mirror and broke apart.

The Space Freeze was broken!

Li Yang swung the long spear in his hand and thrust it forward.

BOOM!

With a single thrust, the spear’s light shot out like a throwing knife, moving at an incredible speed. In the blink of an eye, it was right in front of the ox-like beast.

The beast roared in fury, trying to swat the spear’s light away. However, the light pierced straight through its thick hoof, entered its body, and passed all the way through its torso.

The terrifying attack flooded its body, obliterating its life force. The aura of the ox-like beast began to drop rapidly.

ROAR!

The ox-like beast let out one last, unwilling roar before its body vanished completely.

A one-shot kill!

After clearing the tenth step, Li Yang faced the demonic beast on the eleventh and still achieved a one-shot kill!

’Next.’ A glint flashed in Li Yang’s eyes.

Twenty years of silence, of seeing the forces that oppressed Earth run rampant, had left him seething with pent-up rage. He had no intention of wasting time fighting this demonic beast that had comprehended the Space Law!

...

Outside the steps, the Deities were still in shock.

”Li Yang’s progress... it’s just too much.”

”I know! Lan Yu barely lasted four minutes on the tenth step, yet Li Yang managed a one-shot kill! His current strength has far surpassed Lan Yu’s!”

”He’s improving even faster than he was twenty years ago!”

”Can he pass the eleventh step?”

The Deities discussed among themselves in astonishment.

Li Yang’s progress was too fast. Even if he had obtained a Dominator’s attack legacy, that didn’t guarantee such massive improvement. The key was one’s own ability.

If one’s own Talent was lacking, the benefits gained from a legacy would be minimal.

They were all discussing whether Li Yang could pass the eleventh step.

Though they thought it impossible, the fact that Li Yang could one-shot the lifeform on the tenth step meant he had a chance of clearing the eleventh.

If he passed, Li Yang would be truly heaven-defying!

After all, for this generation of geniuses, only thirty-odd years of the hundred-year training period for the Longevity Realm had passed.

With the time remaining, Li Yang might even have a chance of passing the twelfth step.

Other than Mixed Void, a monstrous genius ranked in the top 100 of the Human Race, the last person from the Human Race to pass the twelfth step within a hundred years of reaching the Longevity Realm had done so over a hundred billion years ago.

As the crowd debated, the battle on the eleventh step began. Before their eyes, the demonic beast fully unleashed its Space Freeze mystery, but Li Yang simply swung his spear.

With a single move, the demonic beast’s body was pierced through, and it died. Li Yang had, once again, achieved a one-shot kill against the demonic beast of the eleventh step.

They were stunned. Seeing this, all the Deities present were utterly dumbfounded.

”A one-shot kill! Li Yang actually one-shotted the beast on the eleventh step?”

”How is that possible? That beast had completely mastered a mystery of the law!”

”Has Li Yang’s strength already reached the level of a World Lord, or even surpassed it?”

The Deities were so shocked they could hardly believe what they were seeing.

They could understand that Li Yang’s progress was fast since he had obtained a Dominator’s attack legacy in the Lingyue World, but there should be a limit to how fast he could improve.

But Li Yang had completely shattered that limit!

What did the eleventh step of the Path of Deities represent? It represented true World Realm strength!

Only someone stronger than an ordinary World Lord could possibly pass the eleventh step.

To cross two major bottlenecks from the Peak of Longevity Realm to match the strength of the World Realm—not even a peerless genius like Lan Yu, who appeared only once every few billion years, could accomplish that. Lan Yu’s limit after a hundred years of training was expected to be the tenth step.

One could only imagine the difficulty!

And yet, Li Yang had one-shotted the beast on the eleventh step!

”He passed the eleventh step so easily... could Li Yang... pass the twelfth step?”

”Impossible, right? For the Human Race, someone who can pass the twelfth step might only appear once every hundred billion years, and it still takes them nearly a hundred years to do it. Mixed Void’s Talent ranks in the top one hundred in the history of our Human Race, so it wasn’t hard for him. Li Yang... he’s still far behind Mixed Void.”

”That’s right. Even if he can one-shot the most ordinary World Lord, that level of strength still isn’t enough to pass the twelfth step.”

”I’m not so sure. The strength Li Yang has shown so far might not be his full power.”

”Blade Slaughter, do you think your disciple can pass the twelfth step?”

The Deities were so completely shaken that they began to seriously doubt their own judgment, turning to ask Sect Master Blade Slaughter.

Little did they know, Sect Master Blade Slaughter was also lost in shock.

’This disciple of mine... his rate of progress is just terrifying, isn’t it?’

He too had been startled by Li Yang’s improvement.

Meanwhile, high above their consciousnesses, a group of Emperors were also watching, having seen Li Yang clear two steps in a row.

”Incredible. Li Yang actually one-shotted the demonic beast in the space of the eleventh step!”

”Do you all think Li Yang can pass the twelfth step?”

”It’s hard to say. But if he can, then this Li Yang is truly a monster! It took Mixed Void eighteen years to go from the ninth step to the twelfth. It’s been exactly twenty years since Li Yang passed the ninth step, only two years longer than Mixed Void.”

”If he can pass, it means that over these twenty years, Li Yang’s rate of progress has only been a tiny bit slower than Mixed Void’s.”
