Family Rise by Daily Intelligence

Chapter 447: Chapter 226: Natural and Man-Made Disasters, Crucial Intelligence, Noble Family in Peril

Fu Yongqi returned to the fief with the Yin Beast Blood and updated the information before Fu Molan’s arrival at Yinfeng Cave.

Liuu Meizhen was in seclusion, and currently, Brother Fan was in charge of miscellaneous affairs in the clan. Upon hearing that his second brother encountered an incident, his heart skipped a beat, but he quickly calmed down.

Since Grandpa Fei did not bring his second brother back from the Yinfeng Cave in Qiuya Mountain, it indicated that it was not advisable to move his second brother at this time. With Grandpa Fei watching over, there should not be any major issues, so there was no need to disturb his mother, who was already in seclusion.

”Yongqi, take the Yin Beast Blood to Grandmaster Yu. Also, pass the order down, instructing the people from the War Hall not to venture into the mountains for the time being.”

The Beast Tide is imminent.

Presently, various Demon Beasts frequently appeared in the Ten Thousand Mountains.

It’s better to be cautious.

A few months later.

Back Mountain Water Curtain Cave.

The newly cultivated Tier Two Middle-Grade White Jade Rice by the Fu Family was now a golden expanse.

Gan Shenglin looked at the drooping White Jade Rice, his face full of joy.

Once this acre of White Jade Rice is harvested, as seeds, next year the clan will be able to plant this Spirit Grain on a large scale. Whether consumed by the Foundation Establishment Elders in the clan or sold at the marketplace, it’s a valuable Tier Two Spiritual Material. Successfully cultivating them counts as a small achievement:

”Oh?”

Gan Shenglin suddenly noticed something unusual.

The soil of the Spirit Field seemed to contain small black dots the size of rice grains:

”What is this?”

Gan Shenglin bent down to examine.

He found that the soil contained a triangular, dark insect egg: ”What insect pest is this?”

It was his first time seeing it.

With the White Jade Rice nearly ready for harvest, it would be troublesome if anything went wrong at this time.

Gan Shenglin called out loudly towards the kitchen:

”Honey, come out here quickly.”

Yesterday, good news came from Jade Lotus that she had successfully reached Foundation Establishment and was currently in seclusion to consolidate her realm. Fairy Lady Cai, upon receiving the news, was so excited that she couldn’t sleep the entire night. Early today, she was bustling in the kitchen with various ingredients, planning to have Brother Fan take them to the ancestral hall to thank the ancestors for their protection:

”Coming, coming.”

Fairy Lady Cai instructed her son to watch the kitchen fire.

She emerged from the kitchen in high spirits and headed to the White Jade Field. When she saw the insect egg in Gan Shenglin’s hand, her heart skipped a beat.

Ever since she embarked on cultivation, she had been tending to the Spirit Fields.

This was the first time she’d seen such an insect egg.

Swiftly bending down, she turned over a few feet of Spirit Field soil, discovering that the deeper she dug, the more densely packed these insect eggs became.

”Mom, should the Bailing Fish be turned over? It’s almost burnt!”

Gan Xiaoqi, who was helping in the kitchen, peeked out when he noticed his mother hadn’t returned for a long time. But upon seeing the densely packed insect eggs on the completely overturned Spirit Field outside, he was startled:

”Mom, how did so many insect eggs appear overnight in the Spirit Field?”

At this moment.

Fairy Lady Cai and Gan Shenglin were too absorbed to reply to him.

Both wore solemn expressions.

Fairy Lady Cai, slightly frightened, said:

”If we’d discovered these insect eggs in the Spirit Field any later, by the time they hatched, this year’s White Jade Rice might have been wasted. Dear, take Xiaoqi and start harvesting the White Jade Rice. I’ll summon the Spirit Plant Hall people to check if the other Spirit Fields have similar issues.”

With that said.

After Fairy Lady Cai rushed out of the back mountain, she returned to the Spirit Plant Peak, gathered all the Spirit Plant Cultivators, and flipped her right hand to reveal a triangular insect egg:

”Does anyone here recognize this type of insect egg? Or have any of the Spirit Fields under your care encountered similar insect eggs?”

The rest lacked experience compared to Fairy Lady Cai.

Naturally, they saw no clues.

Seeing this situation was only confined to the Spirit Field at Water Curtain Cave, Fairy Lady Cai slightly relaxed, but still instructed:

”There have been several years of drought, and all sorts of pests might appear in the Spirit Fields. Everyone, after you return, in addition to carefully tending to the Spirit Plants, be sure to carefully watch out for any other occurrences.”

Just in case.

Fairy Lady Cai sent messages separately to the branch halls of the Spirit Plant Hall located in Luofeng Mountain in Anyang County and Pingshan County, advising them to observe the soil of the Spirit Fields closely in the near future.

After the couple harvested the White Jade Rice and eliminated the insect eggs,

the clan did not encounter such issues again.

Fairy Lady Cai and her husband gradually put the matter behind them.

However.

More than a year later.

Similar triangular insect eggs began repeatedly emerging in the Spirit Fields of the fief.

Not only in their fief in Yunshan County, but even at the clan’s other two locations, similar problems arose, and compared to the first time, this time it seemed to spring up overnight, densely packed, countless in number.

Fairy Lady Cai immediately reported the matter to Brother Fan:

”Brother Fan, there are too many insect eggs. Trying to clear them while preserving the Spirit Plant is impossible. But if we let these eggs continue to multiply, there’s fear of them hatching into some kind of pest, and by then, it would be too late to remedy.”

But.

If at this moment, all the Spirit Plants in the Spirit Fields were harvested,

it would be alright if they were mature.

But for those not yet fully grown, it would be a sheer waste, given there are hundreds of acres of Spirit Fields combined, and because it is the time of the Beast Tide, various Spirit Plants are even more precious.

Brother Fan tapped the table.

Calmly said:

”Mother-in-law, quickly order the Spirit Plant Hall to harvest the Spirit Plants that can be picked as quickly as possible. For the Spirit Fields not yet ready for harvest, I will immediately convene the Elder Council and provide a response by this afternoon.”

Fairy Lady Cai, worried, accepted the order and left.

This omen.

In no way does it seem auspicious.
