Family Rise by Daily Intelligence

Chapter 440: Chapter 223: Slap, Teaching Daughters, Rise and Fall of Noble Families (Part 3)

After the two were seated.

Hee Clan Leader went straight to the point:

”Brother Cao, you’ve been in seclusion for years, are you aware that the Fu Family is constructing a city to resist the Beast Tide?”

Cao Clan Leader was overwhelmed.

Miscellaneous affairs of the clan have been handled by several elders.

Regarding this matter.

It was indeed his first time hearing about it.

Seeing this, Hee Clan Leader showed a knowing expression and quickly said:

”Brother Cao, this Beast Tide is aggressive and reportedly the fiercest in a thousand years.

Our two families’ territories are not far from the Ten Thousand Mountains. Once the Beast Tide bypasses the Fu Family, we will be at the forefront.

Our two clans lack the manpower and resources like the Fu Family to construct a city for defense. However, while the Fu Family’s city is not yet completed, we can seize this opportunity to provide them with the materials they need. Then, if....”

”If our territory is breached, our clan members will have a place to shelter.”

Hee Clan Leader’s words were heartfelt.

But Cao Clan Leader shook his head with a bitter smile:

”Brother Hee, I appreciate your good intentions, but you know, our Cao Family emptied our coffers at the Wanning Commerce Association auction three years ago, and we haven’t even repaid the borrowed Spirit Stone, let alone have extra funds to aid the Fu Family.”

Hee Clan Leader paused.

The Cao Family is so financially strained.

He suddenly thought of something and shuddered:

”Brother Cao, is it because you’ve stopped taking medicine that your condition has worsened?”

”You know my body. Even with many spiritual pills, it’s just hanging on to life, with only a tenth of my battle power left.”

”Brother Cao, you....”

Hee Clan Leader wanted to say the other was being foolish.

After all.

There’s hope in living.

But Cao Clan Leader bore the burden of the entire Cao Family. Some words reached his lips but he swallowed them back, instead advising Cao Clan Leader to rest well.

When leaving Cao Clan Leader’s courtyard.

He saw guests in the distance at another lively courtyard.

Inside were laughter and joy.

In stark contrast to Cao Clan Leader’s lifeless courtyard.

That was the son of Cao Family’s Second Elder, also a newly advanced Foundation Establishment member for whom the family held a grand celebration.

From the glory back then.

He thought the Cao Family still had deep reserves.

But listening to Cao Clan Leader today, Hee Clan Leader’s brow furrowed slightly.

After some thought.

A strange look flashed in his eyes as he glanced at the Cao Family Ninth-Grade Noble Family Archway, then shuddered, and the strange look faded.

Hee Clan Leader never set foot in the Cao Family again.

....

Fu Family’s Demon-Defying City construction was underway.

Initially, everyone thought it was a small-scale endeavor, but the Fu Family continued for three years, and the entire Outer City was forged, with the rune inscription nearing completion. Though the array wasn’t activated, it seemed unparalleled for an ordinary city.

Moreover, the Fu Family’s construction continued.

Originally indifferent South Huai Prefecture Noble Families, now noticed the Fu Family’s situation.

Eighth-Grade Gongsun Family.

The Gongsun Family auctioned two batches of Foundation Establishment Pill from the Wanning Commerce Association.

Replenishing half of the originally lost Foundation Establishments.

In the Council Hall.

Newly established Foundation Establishment Gongsun Wen said in a gruff voice:

”Patriarch, I heard that the Thousand Sun Stone for the Fu Family’s city construction was acquired from the Ninth-Grade Hee Family under our jurisdiction at one-tenth the price.

The Hee Family Patriarch even married off a daughter to a foster son of the Fu Family Patriarch; this Hee Family kowtows to the Fu Family despite knowing our Gongsun Family has a blood feud with them. In their eyes, where is our Gongsun Family?”

”By the way.”

”Our family currently has ten Foundation Establishments.”

”Patriarch, back then, our predecessors, Grand Elder had seven Foundation Establishment members lost to Shangguan Family and Fu Family. It’s time to settle this feud.”

After shrinking for years.

If the Gongsun Family didn’t stir up some activity,

People might think they were a sick cat.

The newly advanced Foundation Establishments present, were in high spirits and echoed the sentiment:

”Indeed, Shangguan Family is untouchable, but this Ninth-Grade Fu Family can be completely outmatched with our current family strength.”

”Moreover.”

”I’ve heard that the Fu Family Patriarch has been in seclusion. Their Fu Family’s battle power is spread across Anyang County Luofeng Mountain, Pingshan County, Yunshan County, significantly weakened. All it takes is the right opportunity, and the Fu Family is nothing to fear.”

Gongsun Clan Leader closed his eyes, silent.

In his heart, he cursed several times, calling them fools.

This batch of newly advanced Foundation Establishments was originally eliminated, but with the Beast Tide approaching, the Gongsun Family urgently needed Foundation Establishment battle power, and the subsequent backbone couldn’t keep up, forcing them to award Foundation Establishment Pills to these people.

Looking now.

It’s uncertain whether this was a blessing or a curse.

Gongsun Clan Leader, head aching from the clamor, reached his limit and slapped the Immortal Seeking Table, coldly speaking:

”Court decree, when Beast Tide erupts, all Noble Families are prohibited from random fighting. Do you treat the Court prohibition as air? The Fu Family’s Outer City is built, yet we haven’t constructed any effective defenses against the Beast Tide. And you claim to be from an Eighth-Grade Noble Family? Saying it out loud, I’d be ashamed!”

Gongsun Wen felt the Patriarch, after several setbacks,

Was noticeably less motivated.

He calmly said:

”Patriarch, aren’t you boosting others’ morale and diminishing our own?

The Fu Family’s city construction seems bustling and lively.

But I’ve heard that the Fu Family’s most critical Star-Receiving Tower hasn’t even begun construction, supposedly due to a lack of essential material, Star Stone.

That kind of treasure, not just in South Huai Prefecture, but in all Jingzhou, has never been available for purchase.

The Fu Family is just busy with a show.”

There are seven newly advanced Foundation Establishments.

Among them, Gongsun Wen was the centerpiece.

They were evidently united as a whole, opposing the Gongsun Clan Leader and three other Veteran Foundation Establishments.

For no other reason.

Firstly, to seize power.

Secondly, those old fellows were the ones who eliminated them. If it weren’t for clan Foundation Establishment members dying in droves and younger talents unable to keep up, it wouldn’t be their turn for Foundation Establishment.
