Family Rise by Daily Intelligence

Chapter 438: Chapter 223: Slap, Teaching Daughters, The Rise and Fall of Noble Families

”Exactly.”

Hee Qingshang’s lackey, Hee Jiumei, also looked down on Fu Yongyi. With a disdainful side glance at Fu Yongyi, she said coldly:

”We Hee Family are a Ninth-Grade Noble Family of hundreds of years. Not to mention Tier One Fruit Wine, even Tier Two Spirit Wine is what we sisters drink on a daily basis.”

”Ninth Sister, why bother saying so much to him? Don’t lower your own status.”

”Eldest Sister is absolutely right.”

Hee Jiumei covered her mouth with a smile, whispering in Hee Qingshang’s ear:

”I heard that Fu Yongyi brought bad luck and killed his own mother at birth, and his biological father was just a mere commoner. Born lowly, with a doomed fate, hideously ugly, and without self-awareness, truly like a toad wanting to eat swan meat!”

The voice seemed very low.

But everyone present was a cultivator.

How could they not hear?

Hee Jiumei’s face was full of disdain and she wanted to mock him further.

Indifferent.

Just two slapping sounds were heard.

Hee Jiumei’s cheeks were suddenly swollen and red like a pig’s head, causing Hee Qingshang to pause for a moment before slamming a palm on the Eight-Immortal Table:

”Fu Yongyi, how dare you slap me.....”

”I’m the one who hit her.”

Yaoyao charged forward with a face full of anger.

She originally wanted to hide on the side and watch Fu Yongyi’s matchmaking, but hearing Hee Jiumei mock her sworn brother like that, she couldn’t stand it and immediately issued an expulsion order:

”Hee Qingshang, our Fu Family can’t afford to climb the ladder to your Hee Family’s prestige, so please take your sister and leave our territory quickly.”

”Who’s eager to stay....”

Halfway through the sentence, Hee Qingshang thought of something and forcibly swallowed the latter half back down.

Before coming to the Fu Family.

Her father had repeatedly instructed her to perform well.

Just now, she was deliberately mocking Fu Yongyi because she didn’t want to marry him.

Originally, everything was going according to her plan.

Unexpectedly.

Fu Yaoyao suddenly burst in.

If she really left in a huff with her sisters, ruining the marriage, her father would surely flay her alive.

Now.

The elders at their table had already noticed the tension over here.

Hee Qingru, who sat at the most inner part of the Eight-Immortal Table, noticed this and quickly stood up, turning towards Fu Yaoyao and Fu Yongyi, sincerely saying:

”My two elder sisters were probably drunk just now, which is why they spoke such nonsense. Yongru apologizes on behalf of my sisters to both of you, Fellow Daoists. We don’t expect your forgiveness, we only hope we’ll be allowed to stay until the banquet ends.”

As she spoke.

Hee Qingru voluntarily knelt down and bowed separately to Fu Yongyi and Fu Yaoyao.

Fu Yaoyao, clear on personal grievances:

”You did nothing wrong; there’s no need to apologize. Besides, I’m not the one who should accept the apology.”

Her tone had softened a bit compared to before.

However, her gaze fell on Hee Qingshang and Hee Jiumei, offering them a step down.

But when had Hee Qingshang ever been treated like this? She was furious beyond measure but gritted her teeth and bowed to Fu Yongyi, saying icily:

”Fellow Daoist Fu, I apologize. I was impudent just now.”

Hee Jiumei, holding her swollen cheek, felt extremely wronged. However, since her eldest sister had already bowed her head, how could she dare act up? She could only admit her mistake in a low voice.

After sitting down fuming.

She tugged at Hee Qingshang’s sleeve, about to say something.

Only to hear two more slapping sounds.

It was Hee Qingshang giving her two more slaps:

”Useless thing, just causing trouble.”

She just wanted the other party to play along, but this foolish girl had no sense of discretion in her words.

”Brother Stone, let’s go.”

Fu Yaoyao wasn’t going to stay there with the Hee family girls any longer. Her gaze, filled with concern, turned to Fu Yongyi.

Fu Yongyi shook his head.

When he was young, he’d heard far worse insults, and he’d long since become immune. However, Yaoyao’s defense of him filled his heart with warmth; in his memory, Yaoyao had always been lively and adorable. This was the first time he’d ever seen her so angry.

As he turned to leave.

Behind him came Hee Qingru’s voice:

”Fellow Daoist Fu, may I taste the fruit wine in your hand?”

Fu Yongyi was taken aback, his gaze landing on Hee Qingru’s face. Her cheeks immediately turned a slight shade of red, like a shy blossom about to unfurl, framing her face with a few loose strands of hair, adding a touch of vulnerability that stirred a protective instinct in people.

”Alright.”

Fu Yongyi, as if compelled by some unseen force, handed over the fruit wine.

...

The banquet ended.

After the Hee Clan Leader returned to the Hee Family with his daughters, the smile on his face immediately disappeared, causing Hee Jiumei to drop to her knees in fright with a loud thud.

Hee Qingshang bit her lip.

Not saying a word.

Evidently.

The Hee Clan Leader was already aware of the minor incident at the banquet. He looked at his daughters who were stubborn to the end and said coldly:

”From today, all of you except Qingru, will go to the Repentance Cliff. Without my permission, do not step a foot out of there!”

Simply because of their daughters’ willfulness.

It gave Liuu Meizhen an excuse to push away the marriage alliance. In the end, he had to grit his teeth and lower the selling price of the Thousand Sun Stone Vein to just one-tenth to preserve the marriage.

After the Clan Leader finished speaking.

The Law Enforcement Hall came in directly to drag away the wailing Hee Qingshang and her sisters, leaving only Hee Qingru. The Clan Leader’s expression softened considerably:

”Qingru, make preparations; October will be the date of your marriage to Fu Yongyi.”

...

Fu Family.

After sending off the guests, Liuu Meizhen turned around and asked Nanny Liuu to bring Yaoyao to her room.

Yaoyao felt a bit guilty.

Her mother had always been stricter with her and her brother than her father was.

In the past, she would definitely bow her head and admit her mistake, but Hee Qingshang’s sisters had mocked her Brother Stone so much that she felt she had not hit them hard enough, so she was still quite fuming and remained silent.
