Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1485: Chapter 1483: Miracle Creatures

Authority-level control...

The message brought by the other party was even more unexpected.

Ah Kai silently repeated Fu Qian’s last statement, with furrowed brows.

”Is this why you think it’s related to miracles?”

”Yes, I don’t know much about the form of power controlled by the Benevolence Institute.”

Fu Qian admitted the other party’s speculation.

”But in my understanding, as long as it is successfully invoked, the level of miracle power does not seem to be strongly correlated with the rank of the performer.”

”This is somewhat similar to the existence I encountered, which is why I wanted to ask a professional.”

As a serious academic discussion, this is definitely not a casual reason.

Miracle as a form of power has interested Fu Qian quite a bit since he first encountered it, even contemplating its essence repeatedly.

Primarily, compared to most transcendent powers, the characteristics of miracle are quite distinct.

A brute like me aside, even Chief Yuan, a technician, has various methods that closely relate to his rank.

But miracles seem to lack this restriction.

The most direct example is Ah Kai’s treatment of that injured member of the Kamakura Family.

The entire Academy delegation was helpless against the wound, but he maintained it through the invocation of miracles.

And his own rank was even a step lower than Li Weixuan.

In Fu Qian’s view, the essence of this power is more like directly inputting some form of cheat command towards the world—through action and ”spell”.

...

”Professor Fu has a deep understanding into miracles too...”

Listening intently, Ah Kai sighed softly after a brief silence, affirming Fu Qian’s judgment.

”It’s simply said, achieving the status of Demigod has never been accidental.”

Along with the praise, one could see that the sincere communication from the Heaven’s Commencement Institute’s Demigod was increasingly felt.

”You are correct, the reliance of miracles on the transcendent’s rank is not that strong.”

”Its effect indeed has a tier distinction, but it can be considered its intrinsic property; what we need to do is merely follow strict procedures to accurately trigger it.”

Making a directional gesture, Ah Kai revealed the secrets of this magical power smoothly.

”In fact, the only difficulty in using miracles lies here—how to be ’accurate’.”

”Although defined as a talent, until today, we still can’t accurately define it, only referring to it vaguely as spirituality.”

”It’s not equivalent to the perception of transcendent power, and unless we truly try, we can’t precisely judge a person’s ’spirituality’.”

So back on Ye Island, when there was an enthusiastic invitation to Miss Liushuang, was there a genuine sincerity?

Fu Qian mused silently, nodding slightly without interrupting.

”It seems like a simple process, but there are fine and elusive points that can’t be overlooked.”

”Even for students with a gift for spirituality, mastering a specific miracle requires repeat and deep insight.”

Not sure whether it matches the scene Fu Qian envisioned, Professor Ah Kai’s voice sounded a bit somber.

”And this is under guidance.”

”So, there are fewer and fewer people willing to pursue this path now.”

”Without innovation, one cannot even receive feedback for rank elevation.”

Faced with Professor Ah Kai’s frank discussion of the Benevolence Institute’s dilemma, Fu Qian didn’t offer meaningless comfort, but even assisted in supplementing key points.

”I hope the information I bring is also significant for Professor Ah Kai.”

...

Momentarily stunned by the other’s blunt words, yet quickly rejuvenated, Professor Ah Kai was invigorated by the intensely pragmatic attitude.

”I hope so too. Could Professor Fu say more about that special creature?”

Swiftly returning to the main topic, he did not disguise his hopeful anticipation.

”Of course, firstly it felt to me not like an evil spirit remnant but a new consciousness endowed with intelligence and survival instinct.”

Fu Qian silently recalled his recent encounter with Decaying Dragon Huo... and past encounter with Jianxin.

Indeed, he believed that although their capabilities differ in forms, they share a conceptual commonality.

One point being as mentioned, with their rank not exaggerated, their specific control approaches to Authority-level aspects were nearly identical.

For Decaying Dragon, combined with the Oath Taker from the Blasphemous King, the irrational pollution capability was evident.

And the even more irrational age protection.

While it was still around the second phase like himself, for another Jianxin, the rank probably didn’t exceed Demigod, but it directly poisoned the entire Swordsmanship Department with victims completely oblivious.

”Another point being, their existence form resembles pure conceptual embodiment.”

”What concept?”

Ah Kai seemed to be operating at full mental capacity.

”Fear of Decay.”

Fu Qian recalled Huo’s self-description, casually narrating the midnight nightmare of the decaying.

Jianxin was ultimately sensitive, hence reserved temporarily.

”In its self-awareness, it is the personalization of this conceptual result, akin to spontaneous generation.”

”Additionally, it appears to be subject to certain clear definitions and protections that conditionally limit interaction.”

...

”Spontaneous generation...conceptual activation...”

Proven true, the feelings concerning miracles seem not entirely imagined.

As the narration unfolded, Professor Ah Kai muttered and mused as his colored eyes began to glow brightly with potential revelation.

”I can’t be too sure without witnessing, but the features you described, Professor Fu, are uncannily aligned with a long-held suspicion of the Benevolence Institute—Miracle Creatures.”

Taking a deep breath, he slowly uttered a designation.

”Suspicion?”

Although Professor Ah Kai was exceedingly passionate, the other party discerned quickly, remaining unfazed.

”...There are no cases so far.”

Under prompting, Professor Ah Kai hesitated briefly but staunchly elaborated.

”Academy members suspected long ago, as an objective principle, miracles need not be solely initiated by humans.”

”Meeting the requirements doesn’t necessarily entail subjective intent in the initiation.”

”There are entities seemingly naturally endowed with higher spirituality than humans—transcendent qualities.”

”In rare circumstances, if their form coincidentally aligns with miracle requirements, feedback may sculpt their existence, altering form.”

”Perhaps activating them.”
