While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 163: Chapter 148: Server-Wide Announcement: First Trade with Native People

[Inventory capacity has reached its maximum limit. To increase it, please unlock more slots.]

Rowan Rhodes took a look. The unlocking condition was that the number of items in each slot must reach a minimum stack of 99.

Since she couldn’t increase the number of slots anymore, Rowan decided to increase the item stack limit per slot.

Space Stones could upgrade a slot’s capacity to 999. 100 Space Stones could upgrade a slot’s capacity to 9,999.

Rowan set up ten slots with a capacity of 9,999, costing 1,000 Space Stones. For the 999-capacity slots, she used her remaining 8,010 Space Stones to upgrade 801 slots.

This meant that out of Rowan’s current 1,000 inventory slots, ten had a capacity of 9,999, and 801 had a capacity of 999. For the current Rowan, this was more than enough. It would even be enough for a very long time to come.

Her heart rate sped up, and she immediately began transferring items from her Storage Boxes. Rowan went to the third floor where the Storage Boxes were placed, opened them one by one, and emptied out all their contents. In addition, she took down the items she had previously listed in the Sea Survival Shop and placed them into her inventory.

At the same time, she organized the different items onto different pages by category and named each page directly:

Page 1: Basic Resources

Page 2: Food & Beverages

Page 3: Seeds & Farming

Page 4: Creature Drops

Page 5: Weapons & Tools

Page 6: Equipment & Armor

Page 7: Raft Equipment

Page 8: Special & Rare

After categorizing everything, Rowan started adjusting the inventory slots.

Page 1 was arguably the most abundant. She specifically placed the ten slots with the 9,999 capacity on Page 1, filling them with the various ores she had previously mined on Glimmerstone Isle. The other pages looked much emptier, but Rowan was confident that she would fill these vacant slots day by day.

Just as she finished her busy work, another server-wide announcement popped up.

[Server-Wide Announcement: Congratulations to Player Rowan Rhodes for completing the first trade with Native People. Reward: Bronze Treasure Chest x1.]

Rowan was stunned when she saw this announcement because such an announcement had never appeared in her past life. In her past life, the Sea Survival Game had never mentioned that the Void Beasts were Native People. In this life, an unexpected new change had occurred.

Could it be that a trade was only considered a valid trade if the Void Beast itself acknowledged it as one? Did this count as an alternative form of favorability?

This announcement also presented a new piece of information to all the players. That was... the Sea Survival Game actually had Native People—the NPCs that many players had speculated about. Her ”fame” was likely to rise to another level because of this.

Sure enough, when Rowan shifted her gaze to the District 122 world channel and the main chat group, the discussions were boiling over.

[District 122: (94,219 / 100,000)]

”Ahhh! Native People have appeared.”

”So there really are NPCs on the islands in the Sea Survival Game?”

”To be called an NPC, it must at least be a creature of Wisdom, right! Is it human?”

”Did Rowan Rhodes encounter them on the fourth island?”

”There’s so much information to unpack here.”

”Awesome, Boss Rowan! You always give us a huge surprise—or scare—when we least expect it.”

”Agreed! But I’m curious about what good stuff the Native People traded with the boss.”

”Holy shit, did you guys notice? The items with quantities over ten thousand that Boss Rowan previously listed in the Sea Survival Shop have been taken down. Several others with quantities over a thousand are gone too.”

”So Boss Rowan might have acquired Space Equipment?”

”God! I’m genuinely tempted by this!”

”Boss Rowan, is it space-type Equipment?”

”It definitely is.”

”Then when we get to that island, will there be any left for us?”

”Wuwuwu, Boss, leave some for us! My inventory slots are truly, genuinely not enough!”

”...”

The players were sharp, making deductions directly from a few tiny clues. Then, one by one, they began to panic. What they cared about was whether they would be able to obtain it under Rowan’s ”rule.”

What the players in District 122 could guess, the players in the main chat group also guessed. In comparison, they were even more excited because, so far, their interests didn’t conflict with Rowan’s. Rowan obtaining space-type Equipment meant that they could also obtain it within their own districts.

”Boss Rowan, we need information about the island!”

”Where is the fourth island you’re on? I’m willing to buy the info at a high price.”

”It just had to be the fourth island. I remember Rowan mentioning that the multi-island mode begins from the fourth island onward. The environments between the islands must definitely be different! There’s no way they made them all identical.”

”I originally thought that the multi-island mode having a wide variety of resources was a good thing. Now it seems that might not be the case. I only want space-type items.”

”Who doesn’t!”

”Space Equipment is simply too important for players.”

”Right, right. I wonder how many there are.”

”I’m just afraid there aren’t many, and there won’t be any left for those who get there later.”

”Yeah, people would basically never trade this kind of Equipment once they have it, right?”

”That’s for sure.”

”...”

The regular players discussed eagerly, their tones filled with longing. Many regular players who had Rowan’s contact info directly private messaged her.

Rowan, whose inbox was being blown up with private messages, fell silent.

These players were truly sharper than the last!
