While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 157: Chapter 146: Rowan Rhodes Is Really Not to Be Trifled With!

Watching the health bars periodically pass before her eyes, Rowan Rhodes began her second step.

Oil!

Whether it was Fish Oil or shark oil, Rowan Rhodes wanted it all. She traded with a group of resident players to meet this demand. After completing the transactions, she mixed the Fish Oil in a bucket. At the same time, she found a long wooden stick and fashioned a brush at its tip. Once finished, she tried to figure out a way to use the brush to coat the Abyssal Sea Serpents with the Fish Oil.

Since the Abyssal Sea Serpents were out of the ocean, the Fish Oil actually served as an extra layer of protection for them. Therefore, even if they were smeared with the Fish Oil, the Abyssal Sea Serpents wouldn’t even think about removing it. Or rather, they completely lacked such a concept. In fact, Rowan Rhodes barely had to do anything; they subconsciously slithered right over the brushes.

Just like that, she went through bucket after bucket of Fish Oil, preparing for the perfect moment to wipe them all out in one fell swoop. Rowan Rhodes had such patience because she understood that this trick could only be used once. After experiencing this method of attack once, the Abyssal Sea Serpents would learn to stay far away from Fish Oil. Just as players could continuously level up in the Sea Survival Game, the same was true for marine life. Thus, at this moment, she had plenty of patience.

Fortunately for her, the health bars hovering above the six Abyssal Sea Serpents were all slightly different. This allowed her to repeatedly apply oil to different Abyssal Sea Serpents from different windows. Just to be safe, she brushed them several extra times.

Once she confirmed that every Abyssal Sea Serpent was coated in Fish Oil, Rowan Rhodes proceeded to the third step: throwing the burning bottles. She didn’t simply hurl them barehanded. Instead, she used a Simple Bow and Arrow, attaching the burning bottles to the Arrows before firing them.

Standing inside the raft facing an open glass window, Rowan Rhodes fixed her gaze on the health bars above the Abyssal Sea Serpents. She needed to rely on the health bars to pinpoint their exact locations. Though her eyes were locked onto the health bars, her Arrow was aimed squarely at an Abyssal Sea Serpent’s body.

3, 2, 1.

The bowstring drew taut. In the blink of an eye, the Arrow carrying the burning bottle shot straight into the Abyssal Sea Serpent. At the same time, the burning bottle shattered and exploded, causing flames to rapidly engulf the creature’s entire body.

”HISS...”

A shrill, agonizing shriek immediately rang out across the scene. Seeing how excellent the Effect was, Rowan Rhodes sprang into action, aiming at different Abyssal Sea Serpents from various windows. Although there were a few overlapping strikes, she eventually confirmed that all six Abyssal Sea Serpents had been hit. The health bars above them began dropping at varying rates. Moreover, as the flames burned fiercely across their massive bodies, the decline was continuous. Furthermore, perhaps because their outer skin had been breached, the virus also had a corrosive effect on the sea serpents.

In Rowan Rhodes’s line of sight, long streaks of flame thrashed and rolled on all four sides of the raft. Watching this scene, her joy reached its peak. Regardless of how it happened, she had achieved her goal. She had successfully inflicted damage on the Abyssal Sea Serpents—and significant damage at that. All this with her current status at merely Level 8. Although she had relied on her Wisdom, it was still an alternative form of strength.

Thrumming with a trace of excitement, Rowan Rhodes continued her assault, watching happily as their health bars dwindled to mere slivers under her successive attacks.

Perhaps sensing how formidable this player was, the Abyssal Sea Serpents showed signs of retreating. They wanted to flee the Void Isle and return to the ocean. After all, with their bodies engulfed in flames, the only thing they could think of was using the ocean to extinguish the fire. However, while on land, their escape Speed was somewhat hindered, making them significantly slower.

Rowan Rhodes’s eyes instantly lit up.

Luring them onto land had been the right move after all. Before she knew it, she had beaten them down to critical health. Since that was the case, she couldn’t bear to just let them leave. By Nature, she had to press her advantage and pursue them. She quickly ordered Seabird One and the others to start the raft and give chase.

Having long since familiarized themselves with everything in the control room, Seabird One and the other Seagulls sprang into action with practiced ease. With the radar, they knew exactly where to pursue. Most importantly, the raft’s Speed upon entering the ocean was much faster than that of the Abyssal Sea Serpents. Because of this, Rowan Rhodes could turn the tables, firing Arrows equipped with burning bottles at them face-to-face.

And when they finally reached the sea, the Fish Spear Gun lay in wait, fully primed and ready, leaving them with absolutely nowhere to run.
