While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Should She Do Something Big?

Just as Rowan Rhodes was looking forward to it, the Seagull Family had already flown back to the raft. She immediately prepared water and food for them. After eating happily, the seagulls started squawking at her. The underlying message was clear: they had found it! Although she had already suspected it, Rowan still felt pleasantly surprised the moment it was confirmed.

”Thank you all, you’ve worked hard,” Rowan Rhodes said sincerely.

Initially, taking in the seagulls was just to have helpful pets like she remembered, and to make her life on the raft less boring. But look at reality! The seagulls were doing their utmost to help, whether it was fighting marine creatures or searching for sunken ships on the seabed.

Hearing Rowan Rhodes’ words, the seagulls all came over and rubbed against her. They also felt that she was wonderful! She gave them food and a place to live. They had been wandering between islands with no fixed home, but Rowan had given them a sense of home.

Rowan Rhodes patted their heads. ”Help me point out the direction! We’ll explore the sunken ship later.”

She was full of curiosity about the sunken ship. After all, she had never experienced searching a sunken ship before, and she looked forward to finding good things inside. The Seagull Family instantly flew over to the sail and began to indicate the direction. Rowan Rhodes adjusted the sail, and the raft slowly began to change course.

At this moment, Rowan Rhodes hoped more than ever to find the resources she needed in the sunken ship. If she could manufacture the Engine and Steering Wheel, the raft’s direction and Speed would be much freer.

While the raft advanced toward the sunken ship’s location, Rowan Rhodes went to the Crafting Table, ready to make a basic diving suit.

[Basic diving suit: Allows breathing underwater for a short time. Requires plastic*6, rope*2, Shark Skin*3, empty bottle*5]

After tossing the materials in, Rowan Rhodes soon obtained the basic diving suit. There was an additional description on it.

[Durability: 100/100, time in water must not exceed 10 minutes]

Ten minutes. She would have to see the scale of the sunken ship. Since they were still in the Shallow Sea area, the sunken ship shouldn’t be too big. Thirty minutes would definitely be enough. Thinking this, Rowan Rhodes prepared two more sets. At the same time, she used glass and plastic to manufacture swimming goggles.

Meanwhile, the raft deviated from its original course, taking a sharp turn. Rowan Rhodes didn’t mind. To a certain extent, she was already far ahead of other rafts, and it would take time for anyone else to catch up with her progress. Even if they caught up, she wouldn’t care. She felt that obtaining the resources from the sunken ship was far more important. Not to mention, once she got the resources and had an Engine and Steering Wheel, her raft’s traveling Speed would have an absolute advantage.

Therefore, while the raft was moving, Rowan Rhodes even had the mood to use her Hook Claw to snag resources from the sea. This was called killing two birds with one stone. As a result, seeing Rowan working so hard, the members of the Seagull Family followed suit, plucking resources out of the sea—mainly Metal Ingots. So when Rowan Rhodes took a break, she couldn’t help but make them some extra delicious food.

Amidst this heartwarming atmosphere, Rowan Rhodes’s raft finally arrived at the sea area with the sunken ship. After receiving the seagulls’ signal, she furled the sail and dropped the iron anchor to secure the raft in place. Standing at the edge of the raft, Rowan gazed down at the seabed. Faintly, she could only see a mass of dark shadows. If she were just passing by, she wouldn’t have been able to tell there was a sunken ship here.

Rowan Rhodes let out a soft breath and began to put on the basic diving suit. The Seagull Family all looked at her in unison, their small eyes revealing a bit of worry.

”Don’t worry, I’ll be up within ten minutes,” Rowan Rhodes said, a hint of a smile touching her eyes.

In her past life, she had always been alone, even when diving to mine ores. In this life, she actually had companions waiting for her. This feeling wasn’t too bad.

After checking her Equipment and the iron anchor’s Durability, and ensuring the raft wouldn’t drift away, Rowan Rhodes finally jumped into the water. She familiarly swam toward the depths. Finally, after diving about a dozen meters, Rowan saw the sunken ship. Just as she had guessed, the sunken ship wasn’t large in scale; it was a double-decker yacht.

What was on the first deck was obvious. Rowan Rhodes took out her Iron Hammer and entered the second deck of the yacht, which was the interior. As she entered, the schools of fish wandering inside instantly scattered.

Rowan Rhodes’s gaze shifted to the surrounding cabinets, and she began searching them one by one. Canned food, biscuits, drinking water, flare boxes, compasses, flashlights... Searching through them one by one, she stored the bulky items in her inventory and stuffed the easily accessible ones into the cloth bag hanging on her body.

Finally, after unlocking another cabinet, Rowan Rhodes saw her main target for this trip. An oxygen bottle! She stuffed all the oxygen bottles into the same inventory slot. As long as she had one oxygen bottle, once the blueprint was generated later, she could manufacture oxygen bottles. By then, when other players’ rafts gradually upgraded to Level 6, oxygen bottles would become hard currency. Along with the oxygen bottles, there were flippers, diving suits, and spearguns.

After finishing her collection, Rowan Rhodes found a wine cabinet in the next search. At this point, the supplies she had gathered were getting too full. Taking advantage of the remaining time, she didn’t pack up immediately but continued searching for resources inside the yacht. Subsequently, she also saw the medical kits and medicines stocked in the yacht. Once she confirmed there was nothing else, Rowan turned to the cockpit.

She spotted the Steering Wheel inside the cockpit. Rowan Rhodes directly used force and yanked the Steering Wheel off. By this time, her remaining minutes had entered a countdown. Grabbing some of the resources, she began to swim upward.

A moment later, as Rowan Rhodes surfaced from the ocean, she saw a flock of seagulls circling above her head. She smiled, climbed onto the raft, and then slowly took out the resources she had collected piece by piece. Immediately after, she took off the ruined diving suit she was wearing, changed into a new one, replenished her stamina, and jumped into the water again.

It took several trips back and forth before Rowan Rhodes transported all the resources she had gathered from inside the yacht onto the raft. Looking at the mountain of resources, her eyes sparkled. These resources were far more valuable than anything salvaged from the sea. No wonder in her past life, many players had said that finding a sunken ship meant getting rich overnight. This was just a double-decker yacht. If it were a multi-deck or even larger sunken ship, how many resources would there be!

Rowan Rhodes silently made a decision in her heart. From now on, she must look out for more traces of sunken ships.

On her final trip, after entering the yacht, Rowan Rhodes searched inside and out again. Once she confirmed no resources were left behind, she prepared to leave. However, just as she swam out of the cabin, she suddenly thought of something.

The Steering Wheel detached from the yacht counted as a resource. Then what about the entire yacht itself! This yacht was entirely made of metal.

Rowan Rhodes’s heartbeat gradually sped up. Should she pull off a massive heist?
