While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Did They Find a Sunken Ship?

Rowan Rhodes had also noticed the resident players continuously listing items for sale. She welcomed these players with open arms. After all, she could share in their profits without lifting a finger. Moreover, without an island trading post, all Trading Coins would ultimately flow back into her hands. The more goods there were, the more she earned.

Most importantly, these players with special Skills were, to a certain extent, stocks with great potential. Take Jaina Harmon, who had just asked her for help, for example. She was a practitioner of herbal medicine capable of making and prescribing her own medicine. In the early stages, without suitable resources, doctors were basically of little use. However, once they explored the later islands, special herbs would appear. These herbs could be crafted into various potions and medicines using the Medical Table. For players with the Medical Skill, using it while crafting medicine would grant a certain degree of bonus, applying to both quantity and quality.

In her past life, quite a few players had thrived in the Sea Survival Game relying on their Medical Skill. After all, they played a massive role in any group. And now, she had accurately ”fished up” one of them. She hadn’t heard of Jaina Harmon’s name in her previous life, but in this life, she had appeared and was even saved by Rowan. This was yet another new variable. She looked forward to Jaina’s future performance and hoped that more players would join her shop.

While Rowan was checking the information, the goods she had listed were rapidly decreasing. Some items even directly displayed as sold out. A massive amount of resources was thus converted into Trading Coins one by one.

Watching this scene, Rowan couldn’t help but sigh in amazement. In the face of such a massive population, even the most obscure resources could be snatched up entirely.

At this moment, Rowan didn’t plan on listing any more items. After all, no matter how much she listed, she couldn’t supply enough goods for all the districts. Instead of racking her brains to run the shop, it was better to sell according to the actual situation. As for whether she worried the shop would be abandoned by the players, Rowan truly wasn’t worried at all. As long as the shop could list the goods players needed every time a natural disaster occurred, then sooner or later, it would become an existence that players constantly refreshed.

While Rowan wasn’t listing anything on her end, the few enthusiastic resident players also chose not to empty their backpacks. Rowan didn’t know about the other districts, but in District 122, quite a few players began discussing it.

”What’s going on with this Sea Survival Shop? Why is it out of stock?”

”Doesn’t that mean I won’t be able to grab anything when I need it in the future?”

”We actually have to fight over the items on there?”

”Its prices are already so much higher than the market rate.”

”It’s a Level 0 shop. It’s perfectly normal for it to have a limited quantity of goods!”

”I knew the Sea Survival Game wouldn’t be that kind.”

”Having a little is always better than having nothing at all!”

”I suddenly feel that our own trading hall is more reliable. It’s just the players from our own district.”

”Speaking of which, I saw a homemade Sleeve Arrow on there.”

”Really?”

”Really! It flashed by in an instant.”

”@Zelda Parrish, does the Sea Survival Shop have anything to do with you?”

”Zelda Parrish: Nothing to do with me. I just received an invitation to consign items in the Sea Survival Shop.”

”Holy crap, why didn’t I get one?”

”If you want to list things, you at least need to have special goods! They probably look down on what you have.”

”Harold Thompson: @Zelda Parrish, are you going to list all your weapons and Equipment on the Sea Survival Game from now on? You are a member of District 122! How can you betray us like this?”

”Zelda Parrish: It depends on my mood! If I’m kind enough to sell Equipment and still get insulted for it, I can just as easily put them in the Sea Survival Shop. They’ll sell there too, and for an even higher price. It’s obvious which one I’d choose.”

”No, of course not.”

”We’ve always been very grateful for the boss’s help.”

”Harold Thompson is just a shit-stirrer. He doesn’t represent us.”

”...”

Zelda Parrish’s personality was clearly the type that wouldn’t back down from a fight. Her words instantly silenced some of the players in District 122. After all, they had indeed relied on Zelda’s weapons to overcome their difficulties. Now that she had another platform, what if they provoked her and she really ran off? For a moment, all questioning remarks vanished, leaving only a flood of compliments.

Skye Schuyler, Owen Caldwell, Faye Sinclair, and the others watched this scene on the world channel with sudden realization. Nice people really do get bullied! Using the Sea Survival Game as a platform, it seemed like... they had gained a stronger backbone? Exactly! Their reliance had never been other players, but rather their ability to produce the Equipment and food that other players needed.

The next moment, they all continued to privately message the Sea Survival Game, asking for raw materials. If the raw materials were provided by the Sea Survival Game side, the only thing they would earn was the profit from the sales. Compared to having nowhere to turn for help before, this agreement was a massive boon to them.

Just like that, on the surface, the Sea Survival Game seemed to have no goods left. But in reality, quite a few players were silently preparing.

Meanwhile, after finishing watching the drama on the world channel, Rowan stopped observing the Sea Survival Shop. She turned her attention back to her actual raft.

”Seabird One, did your family come back at any point?” Rowan couldn’t help but ask. Yesterday, she had just been testing the waters to see if the Seagull Family had a chance to find the sunken ship. However, after flying out for an entire night, there had been no sign of them. She was now starting to worry about their safety.

[Returned.]

”They returned?”

[Rest.] [Eat.] [Change.]

”They rested for a while, ate something, and then changed direction to search.”

Seabird One nodded. Hearing this, Rowan finally felt relieved. As long as they were fine.

With her mind at ease, Rowan began tidying up the resources on the raft. She collected the resources from the fishing net, then headed to the planting area. Rowan proceeded to harvest Palm Leaves, Coconuts, Mangos, Watermelons, potatoes, and sweet potatoes.

Just as she was excitedly waiting for the plants to continue growing, she noticed a new notification on her interface.

[Insufficient soil fertility. Please apply fertilizer.]

Seeing this prompt, Rowan finally realized the issue. Planting indeed required a massive amount of fertilizer. If the soil fertility was lacking, the plants’ growth Speed would slow down, and their fruits might even end up ruined. It could be said that fertilizer was an essential resource for the raft in the later stages. Many players who focused on Farming on their rafts would post purchase requests on the world channel. This was because the biofuel refiner used to produce fertilizer was a special item that required a blueprint. Blueprints differed from traditional crafting diagrams; they had to be acquired from islands or sunken ships.

Without any fertilizer at the moment, she could only replace the soil for all her plants with a fresh batch. After finishing the soil replacement and watching the plants resume bearing fruit, Rowan turned to check the situation in her pasture.

The Pet Egg sat obediently in a corner. The hens and goats occasionally nibbled on the pasture. At the very least, Rowan noticed that wherever they ate, the Grassland had been chewed bald. However, the two new types of animals also brought new outputs. In the hens’ nests, six eggs had impressively appeared, while three buckets of goat’s milk were found in the goats’ pen.

Upon seeing this, Rowan collected them and then scattered some Pasture Seeds across the pasture. Finally, her gaze locked onto the goats.

She swiftly returned to the Workbench, crafted a pair of shears using Metal Ingots, and then used them on the goats. The next moment, she harvested a batch of wool, leaving the goats completely bare and bald.

Seabird One, who had accompanied Rowan over, instantly tucked its wings tightly against its body. If it lost its feathers, it wouldn’t be able to fly!!!

Noticing its worried appearance, Rowan said helplessly, ”The wool undergoes Regeneration very quickly. Besides, you guys are different.”

Hearing this, Seabird One once again lifted its chin high.

Rowan couldn’t help but chuckle. Without saying anything more, she checked that her status was full and quickly grabbed her Hook Claw to haul in Metal Ingots and other resources.

Of course, there were also various wooden crates. After her Level increased, she found that the probability of wooden crates appearing had also grown significantly. Moreover, she felt that her harvest on this rest day following the extreme heat disaster seemed to be more abundant than usual. Perhaps this was a hidden perk of the Sea Survival Game.

Regardless, with such an abundance of resources, by Nature, one had to haul in as much as possible. For the following period, Rowan focused entirely on hauling in resources.

As noon approached, the Seagull Family returned.

”SQUAWK SQUAWK SQUAWK...”

Along with their figures, Rowan also heard their irrepressible laughter. Her heartbeat instantly quickened. Could it be... had they really found the sunken ship on the seabed???
