Peerless Divine Doctor

Chapter 1748: Chapter 1750: Arrival at the Southern Territory

Ye Luo killed the snake demon and then shared it with the warriors of the Wolf Clan. The Wolf Clan warriors were naturally overjoyed, and the sound of their cheers continually resonated, but Ye Luo did not pay much attention to it.

Because at that moment, Ye Luo was studying a special magical artifact.

Speaking of which, the Commerce Alliance sent assassins to kill Ye Luo, it was practically delivering treasures to Ye Luo.

The assassins from the Commerce Alliance had quite sophisticated equipment. Not to mention the Snake Clan, but the special boots left behind by the eagle assassins alone were enough to greatly surprise Ye Luo.

This special boot known as the Eagle Strike Boots was a unique magical artifact of the Eagle Tribe.

The special teleportation-like movement of the Eagle Tribe that Ye Luo witnessed relied on these Eagle Strike Boots.

The Eagle Strike Boots contained an ancient and mysterious formation within them, achieving a rapid movement effect akin to teleportation through the formation.

However, apart from the Eagle Tribe, other races had already lost this special formation.

After all, abilities like teleportation are unnecessary for people in high-level areas because they can achieve it with their own powers without needing such magical artifacts.

And for races in low-level areas, they might desire it, but unfortunately, their bodies cannot handle its usage.

After all, forcibly teleporting someone through a formation takes a considerable toll on the body.

The bodies of the Eagle Tribe are unique, allowing them to withstand such exhaustion.

And after Ye Luo obtained the Eagle Strike Boots, he also tried using them, but not to mention teleportation, even if the speed was too fast, his body couldn’t handle it.

This Eagle Strike Boots is clearly an invention of the Eagle Tribe, intended solely for their use!

Of course, it doesn’t mean Ye Luo had no use for them. After all, as long as Ye Luo controls them properly, the Eagle Strike Boots can provide him with increased speed. If combined with the Dragon Soaring Nine Heavens’ movement technique, Ye Luo’s speed would certainly increase significantly!

With such benefits, it’s natural for Ye Luo to keep them for use.

While the army was resting, Ye Luo actually sent out people to gather intelligence.

So when the army finished resting and prepared to set out again, Ye Luo had already received the latest intelligence from the Southern Territory.

According to the scouts, the Southern Territory was indeed more dangerous than the Western Frontier, but not as unbearable as the rumors suggested.

It turns out that the Southern Territory does not have the unique terrain like the Western Frontier, making it nearly impossible to hold the ground.

From the start of the war, the Southern Legion used a strategy of trading space for time because the Southern Territory was the least prioritized battleground in the entire Demon Clan’s four-line battlefront.

It’s not that the Southern Territory faced the least enemies, in fact, the pressure on all four realms was roughly similar, but the Da Yue Empire’s limited military strength made it impossible to defend all four realms simultaneously; spreading out forces would only increase the pressure on each realm immensely.

The Southern Territory is home to countless ancient mountains where demon beasts run rampant. Only between these mountain ranges does the Da Yue Empire actually control territory.

Before the outbreak of war, the Da Yue Empire already had two ancient defensive lines in the Southern Territory. After the war broke out, local officials conscripted civilians to continuously build defensive lines. At the junction of each mountain valley, fortresses stood as the focal points for defense.

If one position was lost, immediate retreat to the rear was ordered, as each fortress, occupying advantageous terrain, could effectively block the enemy.

The defense of the Southern Territory was primarily managed by the Turtle Tribe of the Da Yue Empire, known for its strong defensive prowess!

Of course, the Southern Territory is not solely inhabited by the Turtle Tribe. It also includes the Crocodile Tribe, notorious as butchers, and the Rat Tribe, nicknamed as plague fodders!

By leveraging the respective strengths and weaknesses of the three tribes, the Southern battlefield was able to experience continual withdrawals but also continuous defenses, persisting until now.

According to intelligence gathered by scouts, the Southern Territory had generally lost the first three defensive lines, and in some places, even five lines had been lost.

The nearest defensive fortress to Ye Luo and his men is the New Three Stone City, more than six hours away!

An over six-hour distance is not really far, as the Southern Territory is mountainous and has treacherous terrain, but it cannot entirely stop enemy attacks!

At that moment, Ye Luo and his team were naturally positioned behind the battle line, merely an over six-hour journey from the nearest combat fortress, which speaks volumes.

Of course, this doesn’t imply great danger, as the mountainous terrain also provides the defending side certain advantages!

Moreover, the messenger was at least a Martial Artist with a fifth level of Qi Cyclone cultivation. The so-called six-hour journey for them is not comparable to an ordinary person’s three-hour walk.

Ye Luo did not hesitate, leading his team towards the nearest fortress. In reality, Ye Luo’s current intelligence on the Southern Territory is insufficient to make predictions.

Therefore, he must reach the fortress to gain clarity.

New Three Stone City, a typical temporary fortress.

The entire fortress had only one wall, with very few towers, but comprehensive defense formations. New Three Stone City was garrisoned by ten thousand Turtle Tribe, ten thousand Crocodile Tribe, and fifty thousand Rat Tribe, not boasting a large military strength, but they had a large number of low-level demon beasts aiding in city defense, especially with many iron-backed boars!

Ye Luo arrived at New Three Stone City and without any surprise took command. According to the fortress’s commander, their frontline enemies numbered about fifty thousand, very similar in number, although individual soldier quality varied greatly.

Additionally, the attacking enemies were mainly a special tribe known as the Mechanical Race.

The Mechanical Race is essentially Human Race, but unlike ordinary Humans, the Mechanical Race follows a technological path.

They enjoy using high-tech power to modify their bodies and practice some martial techniques to aid them, using spiritual power in ways more akin to Elementalists!

Mechanical Race is their self-given name, but in fact, there is a true Mechanical Race in the Martial Realm, only they belong to a high-grade area!

The Martial Realm has nine areas, the first three being high-level, the fourth through sixth medium-level, and the seventh through ninth low-level, which is the most traditional classification.

After understanding the situation, Ye Luo felt no worry because with the fifty thousand in the fortress, plus the fifty thousand Wolf Clan Ye Luo brought, defending the city was guaranteed, and even a counter-attack was possible.

Ye Luo arranged precisely to launch an offensive; since the forces now gained a near-crushing advantage, Ye Luo had no hesitations, directly ordering a sortie to meet the enemy. Of course, no one rejected Ye Luo’s order, as hiding within the city with such an advantage would be cowardly.
