Chapter 1216: Chapter 1216: Emergency Plane Landing

”They distributed everyone, except for him, Liu San, who was deployed to carry out a mission. The rest followed the captain to the very end.

By the time Liu San hurried over, his teammates had all perished.

Liu San felt hatred! He hated himself for having taken on the task of reporting. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have had to live so alone.

Liu San remembered the smiles on his teammates’ faces when he left. Unable to hold back, his eyes moistened.

”Brothers, you all wanted to see the Medical Martial God with your own eyes. You said you wanted to visit Capital City, but why, why did you have to go first!”

”Damn zombies, I’ll make all of you die!”

Liu San pulled the trigger frantically.

Bullets, one after another, shot out towards what lay ahead.

...

”Sniper, do you see that zombie up ahead? Focus on taking him out for me; ordinary bullets are useless against him, only your heavy sniper can kill him. Aim for the head, take him out!”

Commander Li stood on the rooftop, instructing the two snipers beside him.

Suddenly, a voice came from behind.

”Report, commander, it’s bad. Captain Mingyue of the Special Security Bureau and her team are surrounded by zombies!”

”What, damn it, send someone to rescue them now! Without the elite fighters of the Special Security Bureau leading, we won’t have an easy time of it.”

”Commander, we’ve already sent people, but it’s useless. There are just too many zombies, and what’s more, there are many powerful zombies. Our bullets are like hitting steel plates when they strike them – they can’t penetrate!”

”Damn, can’t you aim for the zombies’ eyes, mouths, and other parts like that?”

Commander Li had just finished speaking when he himself gave a wry smile. Aim for the eyes? The mouth?

Unfortunately, his battalion didn’t have that many sharpshooters.

The battle raged on. Throughout Zhamu City, gunfire and occasional screams filled the air.

And the originally peaceful border town had long been stripped of its tranquility by the barrage of artillery fire.

...

Ye Luo looked out of the window, a sense of urgency in his heart.

”May I ask, how much longer until we reach Zhamu City?”

”Mr. Ye, there’s no need to rush. We’re going as fast as we can. It should be about half an hour before we arrive.”

It was the same flight attendant as before, speaking to Ye Luo. She was now sitting next to him, a special arrangement made by the captain because anyone could see the worry in Ye Luo.

”Good, when we arrive, try to stay as low to the ground as you can. I’ll jump straight down, and then you should leave this place quickly. This isn’t where you should be!”

Ye Luo spoke firmly to the flight attendant.

”Heh, Mr. Ye, it seems we might have to go down with you. The truth is, we’re almost out of fuel. Ours is just a small passenger plane; even using up all our reserves, we’ll barely make it to our destination. In reality, we don’t have enough fuel to fly back.”

The flight attendant smiled sweetly at Ye Luo.

Ye Luo looked up at her, then at the several other people chatting leisurely behind them, a bitter feeling in his heart.

They probably had no idea what they were about to face.

Had they not met Ye Luo, they might have gone their entire lives without knowing those things existed.

But from the moment Ye Luo boarded this plane, these people had, in fact, lost the opportunity to choose.

They could no longer live the lives of ordinary people.

Soon, the plane approached the target, but the flight attendants were stunned.

”Look quick, down there, isn’t that a battle?”

One of the flight attendants pointed out of the window, her eyes filled with horror.

Ye Luo shook his head. What was to come, had come; it was destined that they would be no longer have a connection to the life of an ordinary person, even though they really had nothing to do with this situation.

”What’s your name?”

Ye Luo suddenly asked the girl in front of him.

The girl was very quiet. She had been sitting next to Ye Luo the whole trip, but aside from the constant smile on her face, she hadn’t said much.

This was the first time Ye Luo took the initiative to speak with Li Jing.

Li Jing, a very ordinary girl, had become a flight attendant because of her beautiful appearance and good figure, but due to her lack of connections, she was assigned to this small passenger plane.

”My name is Li Jing. Mr. Ye, are they really fighting up ahead? But we haven’t seen any news about it on the internet or on TV?”

Li Jing knew that Ye Luo was a major general, and the fact that she was on this flight was, in reality, because of Ye Luo. Hence, she asked this question.

Ye Luo didn’t want them to know the truth, or perhaps, he hoped they could enjoy peace for just a bit longer.

”No, there’s only a live-fire exercise happening ahead. You know about live-fire exercises, right?”

Ye Luo lied because he really didn’t have the heart to tell them the truth.

Of course, if Ye Luo could eliminate the Corpse King Palace, then this would truly just be a live-fire exercise.

”Oh, so it’s just a live-fire exercise! We’re so lucky to witness this in person. Haha, this is great; we’ve only ever seen a little bit of news on TV. This time, we get to see a real live-fire exercise.”

Li Jing was happily excited, and the other flight attendants were quite pleased too, all of them peering out the window at the battle below.

”Mr. Ye, we’re out of fuel; I’m afraid we can’t make it to the military airport ahead. We’re preparing to make an emergency landing. Please, Mr. Ye, get ready.”

Suddenly, the captain’s voice came through the plane’s cabin.

Emergency landing!

Hearing these words, the women’s faces paled, and they all quickly found their seats to brace themselves, while Li Jing immediately sat down next to Ye Luo, ready for the impact.

This was the first time in their lives they were experiencing an emergency landing.

Ye Luo felt helpless. Had he known that the plane wouldn’t have enough fuel to travel this far, he might have initially opted to hijack a bigger plane. But now, it was too late for regrets.

The plane began its descent, looking for a suitable place to make the emergency landing.

Fortunately, because Ye Luo was on the plane, whether in the sky or on the ground, everyone was making way for it.

It was now announced that this plane needed to make an emergency landing.

Immediately, the ground reaction was swift. A road was cleared, and dozens of police cars raced over, maintaining order.

It seemed that everything might go smoothly.

And none of the people here had any idea that just tens of kilometers away, a battle of life and death was unfolding!

Ye Luo’s face was devoid of sorrow or joy. He could not change what was happening now; what’s done was done.

But Ye Luo could change what was going to happen.
