Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System

After listening to them, Han Ruochen understood what had happened immediately. She had always felt strange whenever she heard about Han Ziyan going to the warehouse, but she instinctively ignored it, thinking that maybe she was doubting her mother too much. Maybe in her heart she still held some hope toward Meng Yunhan and expected her not to cause trouble for their family.

She was expecting her mother to use some of the funds that she had saved for the Yun family instead of borrowing money from her father’s colleagues! Furthermore, when Han Ruochen calculated, she realised that the money that her mother had borrowed far exceeded the amount that Han Ziyan required.

”Ruochen.” One of the men realised that they had been a bit presumptuous and softened his voice. ”I know that your situation is a bit special, but think about it from our shoes. Your mother borrowed the money from us, saying that Boss Han was having a hard time and would return it as soon as possible, but now it has been six months; in fact, it will be seven soon. It’s like almost a year has passed—we also need to take care of our families. Our wives are making trouble because of the tight finances, and our children cannot go to school without owing fees.”

”If you can please return our money.”

He knew that they were being selfish. But they had no other choice; Han Yichen was already in this condition. If something happened to him, then who would pay the twenty thousand yuan that Meng Yunhan owed them?

”I know... I understand your predicament. The problem indeed lies with my family. We will definitely return the money owed to you. Can...can you give us some days? I cannot arrange so much money at once. But I will try my best to arrange money for those who need it urgently. As for the rest, I promise that I will return the money to you bit by bit...will that be alright?”

As Han Ruochen finished speaking, her eyes could not help but turn red. She wished she could kill her mother at that moment. A surge of hatred like never before was coursing in her veins. She turned to her brother and said, ”Brother Yong, do you have a piece of paper and a pen? Can you note down the debts that Mom owes? What she owes must be returned in full.”

Tears were rolling down her cheeks as she felt helpless for the first time. It was all her fault; she should have kept a better eye on her mother. Just a little ignorance and she ended up causing such big trouble. It was a good thing that Han Ruochen had awakened the sea scanning system, or else Han Ruochen was sure that she could have never repaid this pot of debt that her mother had forced on their heads.

Han Yong glared at his mother. Like Han Ruochen, he hated his mother just the same. How could she be like this? They were already in a situation like this where they had to think twice before making a big expense. How could his mother actually borrow twenty thousand yuan? Was she trying to ruin their family to bits?

Behind them, Han Xuehan was sobbing softly. Her little face was pale, and she looked like she was about to faint; in fact, if not for the fact that Second Aunt Han was holding her up, she would have really fainted then and there. Twenty thousand yuan! Her mother was crazy! How could she even think of borrowing such a big sum of money? Where would they even get so much money from?

”Yes, we will owe what she borrowed from you.” Old Madam Han calmed her anger down and spoke steadily. ”But dear comrades, I will state this one thing here and now clearly. Even though this woman is married to my son, she has done nothing for our family or us. She is a woman with no virtues, and we do not accept her debts. This time around, we will repay the debts because you all are in a difficult situation, but from now on, if she borrows money from you all, then you can look for her. We will not pay a single penny back! You can also tell this to everyone else.”

Since their family’s face was already on the ground, then she might as well go all out. Who asked Meng Yunhan to be so shameless?

”Mom!” Meng Yunhan felt like all her face had been torn and thrown on the ground. She borrowed the money in Han Yichen’s name, never stating that she was the one who needed the money. What’s more, some of these men lived in the village; if they told the truth to their wives, then what would happen to her? Those women would scold her to death. Her own mother-in-law was calling her an unvirtuous woman, and with Han Ruochen telling the truth to everyone, Meng Yunhan could already imagine what would be left of her reputation.

”Shut up! Now you feel embarrassed? When was this shame when you were lying to these good men in Han Yichen’s name and telling them that he needed money? My son is such a prideful man. He would rather starve to death than borrow money, and you, his good wife, ruined his name in such a way! Oh, if it were the ancient times, I would have divorced you instead of my son and thrown you out!” roared Old Madam Han.

She knew Meng Yunhan’s virtues very well and knew why the woman was uncomfortable with what she told these men. Meng Yunhan wanted the money, but she never wanted to lose her face! She wanted to make it look like she was a virtuous woman who was sorting things out for her husband. Hah! As if she would let this woman get what she wanted! Since she ruined her son’s reputation, then Old Madam Han would definitely ruin Meng Yunhan’s reputation.

Anyway, she told the truth. She was not scared of the Meng family causing trouble for her.
