After I Died, the Scumbag Went Mad

Chapter 205: Chapter 204: Everyone at the Orphanage is a Villain

”The boss wants us to fake a suicide.”

”What a waste to just kill her,” Howard Finch said. ”The boss wants it to look like a suicide out of guilt, but what if it looked like she fled to escape punishment instead?”

”What do you mean?”

”We could still get a good price for her,” Howard Finch sneered.

I struggled to open my eyes, but I couldn’t risk making any sudden moves yet.

’This Howard Finch... He’s one of the human traffickers, too.’

’As I thought. None of them are good people.’

’No wonder the serial killer’s list included all of them, sparing no one.’

”Mindy Foster is dead. Now we can’t contact the people on the other side directly, and we have to split the money we get with them. What damned luck.”

”The serial killer is already dead, so what’s there to be afraid of?” Howard Finch was certain the serial killer was Ash, and Ash was already dead.

Mindy Foster was the first woman from the orphanage who was killed.

She was also the former ”big sister” of the orphanage.

”You really think the person who died was the mastermind behind the killings?” Howard Finch’s accomplice asked with a smile. ”I have a feeling everyone on the killer’s death list is going to die.”

Maybe the man was joking, but as someone on the death list, Howard Finch was clearly panicking. ”Don’t talk nonsense. It’s been so long, and no one else has died. It’s obvious that Ash was the killer, and he’s already dead.”

After Ash died, Howard Finch started acting up. He used to put on a bit of a disguise, but now he wasn’t even bothering to pretend anymore.

”Are we really going to sell her? If the boss asks...”

”We’ll just say we dealt with her. The boss just said to make her disappear so she’ll never show up again,” Howard Finch said coolly, walking over to my side.

I was awake by now, but I still didn’t dare open my eyes.

Howard Finch seemed to watch me for a long time before speaking mockingly. ”Silvia, oh, Silvia. You can’t blame me for this. Blame yourself for being too stupid. You can barely survive on your own, yet you have to be so kind and sponsor those kids. And those kids just had to trust you. If we don’t use you, who else would we use?”

”People can’t be too kind, you know. You shouldn’t get involved in other people’s karma; it’ll only bring backlash upon yourself,” Howard Finch muttered to himself.

I understood what Howard Finch was saying, and at the same time, I let out a sigh of relief. ’Silvia Lynch didn’t break the law. She was just being used.’

’The boss behind all this is Victor Quinn.’

Because of Silvia Lynch’s kindness and goodwill toward those homeless children, these villains saw an opportunity to exploit her.

They must have used it to threaten or deceive Silvia Lynch.

Considering what Howard Finch said earlier about charity funds and projects, it was likely that Silvia Lynch couldn’t support so many children on her own. Plus, some of the children had congenital diseases, so she needed a lot of money.

”You know, Silvia, I actually kind of like you.”

He pinched my chin and took the opportunity to caress my face.

I could feel his malice...

”Too bad, though. The boss actually made you marry that fool.” Seeing me unconscious, Chadwick Finch’s courage grew. ”You’re so obedient. As long as we give you money to help save those little bastards, you’re even willing to sell yourself. What a good person...”

His fingers started moving down, hooking under my clothes.

I forced myself to stay still. ’There’s more than just Chadwick Finch here... If I wake up, they’ll definitely try to kill me.’

”What a pity. Who would ever know? Once you disappear, they’ll all think you’re the monster who used and trafficked those children. Who will remember your good deeds? Utterly foolish.” Chadwick Finch sneered, mocking Silvia Lynch for her stupidity.

To be honest, I also felt sorry for Silvia Lynch. For those children... she was willing to make such a great sacrifice. Even imitating ’Cecilia Caldwell’ and marrying Sebastian Lancaster was all to get money to treat those kids’ illnesses.

Unfortunately, the world is a wicked place. In the end, she was still used by these people.

They exploited her kindness, which ultimately harmed not only herself but also those children.

”That Asher is a psycho,” Howard Finch gritted his teeth.

”That fire back then, and it still didn’t burn him to death!” Chadwick Finch’s voice was thick with hatred. ”With people like him alive, how are good students like us supposed to live? Ordinary people like us can never compete with a genius like that in our entire lives. Geniuses shouldn’t exist.”

His jealousy was palpable. He believed the genius of Asher and Charlie was the reason people like him would never have a chance to shine.

”Just because they’re geniuses, all those rich people rushed to the orphanage to adopt them. We’re talking about the Lancaster Family! Who wouldn’t want to be adopted by the Lancasters? But the Lancaster Family actually chose Asher. Even if Asher really is a bastard son of the Lancasters, what about Charlie? On what grounds did that piece of trash get to steal so much attention?”

”Do you have any idea how much we hated them both?” Chadwick Finch undid my buttons one by one. ”Back then, it was trendy for all the prominent high-society figures in the country to come to the orphanage to adopt children, as if doing charity would bring them more benefits...”

”The teachers at the orphanage, the principal, all the kids were so happy, thinking they might finally get picked. But what happened? Everyone was just there for Asher and Charlie!”

Chadwick Finch seemed to have become unhinged.

”When there are geniuses, who would choose you lot?” Chadwick Finch’s accomplice sneered, walking over to join in. ”Can you even handle this? Why is taking off a piece of clothing so hard for you? Hurry up. I’ve already contacted the buyers. They’ll be here in half an hour. Get it over with, don’t waste time. When you’re done, it’s my turn.”

I bit my lip, rage swelling in my chest, but I didn’t dare let my breathing become too uneven.

They undid my clothes. Unable to stand it any longer, I snapped my eyes open. ”Howard Finch, you’re disgusting!”

I struggled with all my might, but my hands were already tied.

When Howard Finch saw I was awake, he was startled at first, then immediately turned to get the chloroform to knock me out again.

”Hey, it’s more interesting when she’s awake. No one’s coming to save her now. Passing out is no fun, just like a dead fish.” His accomplice smirked, starting to pull off my clothes. ”You’re so gorgeous... and what a body. To think you married a fool. Can he even satisfy you?”

”Don’t touch me!” I started to panic. ’If no one comes to save me, I’m just a fish on the chopping block.’

My tears felt hot. For some reason... I always thought of Asher when I was in danger.

’It’s probably because Asher is always there, silently protecting me from the shadows.’

”Asher... save me,” I cried out his name as they ripped my clothes.

The man tried to force my legs apart. I screamed and struggled in despair, kicking at him with all my strength.

SLAP! He struck me across the face, his patience wearing thin. ”Damn it. Move again and I’ll kill you.”

I sobbed, pulling hard at the ropes binding me, but Howard Finch pinned down my wrists.

He sneered at me, and a wave of despair washed over my heart.

”Hmph. If it weren’t for that psycho Asher back then, we would’ve had Cecilia Caldwell... The genius’s woman. We couldn’t touch Cecilia Caldwell, and you’re no different.” Howard Finch’s words were laced with sarcasm and ridicule.

My head was ringing violently.

’Cecilia Caldwell... did the men from the orphanage hurt Cecilia Caldwell?’

”Back then, I remember it was Erin Whittaker who tricked Cecilia Caldwell into going to the small warehouse behind the orphanage. She told her Asher was hurt, and she actually believed it, hahaha...” Howard Finch boasted to his accomplice.

”Mindy Foster got some drug back then, and we used it on Cecilia. We just covered her mouth and nose, and she passed out quick.” Howard Finch pinched my chin, the corners of his mouth lifting. ”It’s the same drug we used on you.”
