After I Died, the Scumbag Went Mad

Chapter 166: Chapter 166: I Stabbed Them More Than Ten Times

(Darlings, Chapter 164 has been replaced. When you read Chapter 165, please make sure to go back and read 164 so it makes sense!)

Julian Fletcher seemed desperate for me to believe him.

”Julian...” Erin Whittaker was like a lingering shadow, as if she couldn’t stand to be apart from him for even a moment.

Julian Fletcher frowned but stood his ground, waiting for Erin Whittaker to walk over and cling to his arm.

Julian didn’t push Erin away. Instead, he looked at me with some concern, as if he were afraid I’d get jealous.

”Go wait for me in the car,” Julian told Erin.

Erin Whittaker hesitated.

”The reporters are all outside. Sebastian Lancaster has already been taken away by the police. You’ll be fine,” Julian said, lowering his voice.

Erin Whittaker bit her lip, shot me a resentful glare, and left reluctantly.

”Cece...” Julian looked like he wanted to explain something to me.

”President Fletcher, you’re quite the romantic,” I said sarcastically.

”Cece... She did save my life, after all. I promised I would keep her safe. The killer is already targeting her, and the police can’t protect her 24/7. I...” Julian hoped I would understand. ”I’m also doing this to find the truth and make you see Sebastian Lancaster’s true colors.”

”Oh, so you’re doing this for my sake after all.” I had to laugh.

’How blind was I back then to see Julian Fletcher through such rose-tinted glasses just because of a debt of gratitude?’

”Sometimes, people do confuse gratitude with love. I can certainly relate to that,” I said lightly.

Julian’s expression grew even more pained. ”Cece... That’s not it... I...”

”Julian Fletcher, whether you want to admit it or not, I have to tell you a fact: Cecilia Caldwell is dead. The person standing in front of you now is Silvia Lynch,” I interrupted him coolly.

Julian looked like he had a lump in his throat, and his eyes reddened.

He opened his mouth several times but couldn’t get a single word out.

Finally, he looked down and gave a bitter smile. ”I know you’re... Cecilia.”

”Silvia Lynch, you’ve completely ruined a perfectly fine funeral! Just look at this mess!” Seeing Sebastian taken away and the police removing Master Lancaster’s body, the so-called relatives of the Lancaster family all started turning on me.

The great-aunt’s son-in-law, as if he’d been shot up with stimulants, stepped forward to demand an explanation from me. ”Silvia Lynch! You’re a jinx! Ever since you married into the Lancaster family, we haven’t had a moment of peace! Dylan Lancaster had his accident, Master Lancaster is dead—look at what you’ve done to this family with your bad luck!”

”Exactly! Master Lancaster can’t even be laid to rest, and now the Lancaster family will be ruined by you sooner or later!” the daughter chimed in, scolding me.

”If you’re sick, go see a doctor. The police will determine whether Master Lancaster died of natural causes or was murdered,” I said with a frown, backing away warily. These people were all on Master Lancaster’s side now. If they ”accidentally” hurt me and my unborn child, it would just be considered negligent injury.

Sure enough, the son-in-law reached out to shove me.

Julian Fletcher frowned and grabbed the man’s wrist. ”Stay away from her.”

The man froze for a second, clearly still somewhat afraid of Julian. ”Silvia Lynch, you really have your ways! Even President Fletcher is protecting you.”

My gaze fell on Julian’s wrist, where I saw a hideous scar. It looked like it was from slitting his wrist...

When he saw me looking at his wrist, Julian instinctively pulled his hand back in a panic and hid it behind him. ”It’s not safe here. Come with me.”

Owen Foster stepped forward to block the people who were demanding an explanation, while Julian grabbed my wrist to lead me away.

I shook off Julian’s hand and spotted Felix Foster in the crowd, wearing a baseball cap.

It looked like he had skipped school again.

Seeing me look at him, Felix walked over with a sullen expression, took off his baseball cap, and placed it on my head. He shot a warning glance at Julian, then led me to a car.

”He was taken away, wasn’t he?” Felix asked unhappily.

I nodded.

Felix swore, as if he had expected it all along.

”He sent me away on purpose... I knew he was going to confront that lunatic...” Felix muttered, slamming the car door shut. ”Stay in here. Don’t come out.”

The crowd was in an uproar. The Lancaster relatives were still causing trouble, and Owen Foster couldn’t hold them all back by himself. Some of them took the opportunity to rush forward, trying to yank open my car door and demand an explanation.

I sat in the car as the door was violently shaken by the people outside.

They were like zombies from a movie, looking as if they wanted to tear me limb from limb.

I was trapped in the car, surrounded by people pounding on the doors and windows.

Their curses and accusations made a chill run down my spine.

It felt like I was suffocating, unable to breathe...

Gradually, the sounds from outside began to fade. I could only hear my own heartbeat and breathing.

CRASH! Someone deliberately smashed the car window. Shards of glass grazed my cheek, and I felt someone grabbing me.

The smell of blood filled my nostrils...

”Cece, run... Don’t worry about me.”

”Cece! Run!”

”WOOF WOOF!”

The sound of barking, the roar of the crowd, the angry shouts.

”Cecilia, you’re not behaving... You’re too vicious. Everyone has someone they care about. How would you feel if the thing you cared about most died right in front of you?”

”You child, you lack empathy. You can’t feel others’ pain. That’s not right.”

”You really like Shaun, don’t you? Kill him... Cece, kill him, and experience the pain a normal person feels.”

”Cecilia! How does it feel to have the dog you love most die right in front of you?”

”Don’t touch me! Don’t touch me! Get away!”

My breathing hitched, and the chaotic sounds around me instantly fell silent.

When my consciousness returned, I was standing outside the car, my hands covered in blood.

Someone must have dragged me out.

Was I hurt? No.

The blood on my face, my body, and my hands wasn’t mine.

Everyone around me was watching me in stunned silence.

It was only then that I saw clearly: a man covered in blood was lying on the ground.

The son-in-law... the one who had been shouting the loudest, the one who tried to use the chaos to harm my unborn child.

”Cece!” Over on the side, Julian Fletcher knocked a man down with a punch, his breathing ragged as he looked at me.

”Murder!” The quiet scene instantly erupted into chaos. The great-aunt’s daughter shrieked, crying that I had killed someone.

Owen and Felix Foster also pushed aside the people blocking them and ran over.

”Where did the knife come from...?” I asked in a panic, my heart pounding.

”It was his knife. He was going to use the chaos to stab you...” Julian said, gripping my shoulders frantically. ”But Cece...”

”You’re too vicious! You’re a monster! You stabbed him more than ten times!” the great-aunt’s daughter cried. People in the crowd were calling the police and 911.

”That man was trying to kill you,” said a live-streaming blogger. ”I saw it all. He dragged you out of the car and tried to use the chaos to stab you, but you snatched the knife and stabbed him back!”

”That’s right, he tried to kill you first.”

Those people stepped forward to testify on my behalf.

I stared at them blankly.

’These reporters...’ I grew more and more suspicious that Asher and Owen Foster had arranged for them to be here.

’Otherwise, why would they be on my side?’

”Cece... come back with me. I can protect you...” Julian looked at me nervously. ”Even if it was self-defense, you went a little too far...”

I knew Julian was scared. He thought I had been too vicious.

The man had only wanted to stab me once, but I had taken the knife and stabbed him back more than ten times.

”I’m going to press charges! I’ll make sure you go to jail, you monster! You’re pure evil! You have to pay with your life!” The great-aunt, her daughter, and the other relatives were all kneeling on the ground, wailing as if the man on the ground were already dead.

I looked at the blood-soaked man who was still twitching on the ground and said in a low voice, ”He’s not dead yet.”
