After I Died, the Scumbag Went Mad

Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Cecilia Caldwell’s Car Accident, the Baby Can’t Be Saved?

Owen Foster took a deep breath. ”It’s alright now. You fainted, so I brought you back. I didn’t expect us to be followed. It was my oversight.”

I had a feeling Owen Foster had more to say, but he kept it to himself.

’What did I do?’

When I woke up, there was blood under my fingernails.

”Let’s go to the hospital first and get a full check-up. She’s pregnant.” Zeke Shaw and Madeline Quinn were worried about me.

”I want to go find Asher...” I said in a small voice.

”Hospital first.” Madeline Quinn shook her head. ”There are search and rescue teams looking for Asher. You’d just be in the way if you went. You’re pregnant.”

My eyes reddened, and I had no choice but to get in the car.

”He’ll be alright, because you’re waiting for him.” Just before I got in the car, Owen Foster suddenly said this, reassuring me that Asher would be fine.

Tears instantly welled up in my eyes, and my chest ached terribly.

’Don’t die...’

’Sebastian Lancaster, don’t die.’

”These guys are all alive. This one’s still breathing.” The police checked the men in the yard. The people who came to kill me were alive. I breathed a sigh of relief.

”Cece, don’t be scared.” Seeing that I had been trembling from the start, Madeline Quinn pulled me into her arms.

I stared blankly outside. ’Am I scared?’

’Doesn’t seem like it...’

Besides worrying about Asher, I couldn’t seem to feel any other emotion.

”Silvia Lynch!”

The car had just arrived at the hospital when I saw Julian Fletcher.

He got out of his car, looking at me with some panic. ”I heard about what happened to Sebastian Lancaster... Are you okay?”

He sounded like he was worried about me.

I frowned, subconsciously moving away from him. ”It has nothing to do with you.”

”Cece...” he called my name nervously.

I ignored him.

But he followed me around like a ghost I couldn’t shake.

Owen Foster had gone to look for Asher, and Zeke Shaw was helping the police at the scene. Only Madeline Quinn was with me.

”Can’t you have some shame? She’s Silvia Lynch! If you’re going to be crazy, can you just get lost?” Madeline Quinn yelled at Julian Fletcher with her hands on her hips.

”I mean, how can you be so shameless? Back then, Cece was so good to you, she gave you all her kindness. And how did you treat her?”

It was as if Julian Fletcher couldn’t hear her, probably because he was used to being yelled at by Madeline Quinn.

He stayed by my side, accompanying me to every check-up.

I irritably told him to get lost, but he wouldn’t.

”Julian Fletcher, you’re so annoying,” I said, getting angry.

”Cece...” He seemed more certain than ever that I was Cecilia Caldwell. ”I went to the Lancaster estate looking for you. Shane Lancaster’s hand was injured, and Master Lancaster got into a car surrounded by several bodyguards. I heard from someone in the Lancaster Family... that when Sebastian Lancaster had his accident, you went back to the estate, stabbed a fruit knife through Brandon Lancaster’s hand, and nearly killed Master Lancaster...”

My body stiffened. I stared at Julian Fletcher in shock. ”What did you say?”

Julian Fletcher’s eyes flickered as he looked at me, gripping my wrist tightly. He seemed agitated. ”You don’t remember what you did, right? The servants at the Lancaster estate said that if you hadn’t suddenly fainted, an unguarded Master Lancaster would’ve been killed by you.”

I frowned. I didn’t believe Julian Fletcher’s words, but he had no reason to lie.

’Was this what Owen Foster was hesitating to say?’

’After I heard the news of Asher’s car crash, during that brief period of memory loss... did I go and do this?’

’How on earth did I do it?’

”Cece, don’t listen to his nonsense. You can’t even hold a knife steady when you’re peeling an apple. He lies so easily.” Madeline Quinn snapped out of her shock.

But soon, Madeline Quinn fell silent.

Because Zeke Shaw had sent her a video.

It was surveillance footage from Asher’s villa.

In the video, the dog pounced, biting the man who was trying to kill me.

I took the opportunity to grab his dagger and stabbed it viciously into his chest. Fast, precise, and ruthless...

And without a trace of hesitation. My movements were clean and efficient.

In that moment... I started to doubt myself.

’I look like a seasoned criminal...’

’Fortunately, this time, it was self-defense.’

Julian Fletcher frowned, not bothering to argue with Madeline Quinn. ”Come with me... I’ll take you to see Victor Quinn.”

I shook off Julian Fletcher’s hand and looked at him warily.

’Victor Quinn...’

That name sounded very familiar.

In my childhood memories, Mom and Dad mentioned Victor Quinn... a mental hospital...

”I know you don’t trust me anymore... Silvia Lynch, don’t you want to know why you’re like this? Losing control, not being yourself, doing things you don’t remember at all when you wake up, forgetting so many memories? Don’t you want... to remember?” Julian Fletcher said in a low voice.

”Don’t you stand there trying to trick Silvia Lynch! I’m telling you, Julian Fletcher, you’re the most wicked person in the whole world!” Madeline Quinn blocked Julian Fletcher, preventing him from taking me away.

I didn’t listen to Julian Fletcher. Right now, I just wanted to find Asher...

My heart was beating fast, and I was panicking. I felt an impulse, a thought that kept running through my head: if something happened to Asher, I would go kill Master Lancaster...

Madeline Quinn pushed Julian Fletcher aside and took me for a full check-up. The doctor sighed. ”You’re pregnant. Stop letting yourself get hurt. You should be resting quietly and taking care of the baby at a time like this.”

I looked down at my stomach, my eyes reddening.

’The baby and I are both waiting for Asher. He’ll definitely come back.’

”Asher...” I looked at Madeline Quinn nervously.

Madeline Quinn squeezed my hand. ”Think about it. Asher’s a genius, he’s so smart. He probably wasn’t even in the car in the first place. Otherwise, how could everyone else from the car be accounted for, but not him? The fact that they can’t find him is actually a good thing.”

I nodded, my eyes filled with tears.

’It’s a good thing they can’t find Asher...’

’Maybe Asher found a way to get out of the car long before.’

’Asher is so smart...’

”Check over there.”

”Over here!”

A few suspicious people appeared in the hospital, holding photos and looking for someone.

I knew they were Master Lancaster’s men. He wouldn’t give up so easily.

Especially after what Julian Fletcher said... If it was true that I had hurt Brandon Lancaster and Master Lancaster, then Master Lancaster would have even more reason to want me dead.

”Cece...” Madeline Quinn was a little nervous. ”These people are crazy. They actually tracked us to the hospital.”

”They really are crazy...” I said in a low voice.

With the old master of the Lancaster family gone and Asher’s fate unknown, all Master Lancaster had to do was get rid of me, and the Lancaster family’s immense fortune would fall into his hands.

That was a lot easier for Master Lancaster than risking his life to earn dirty money.

”Money can magnify the evil in human nature to no end.” I pulled Madeline Quinn into an examination room, hiding among a group of people in line.

Julian Fletcher glanced at me. ”I’ll lead them away.”

I frowned. Those men were professional mercenaries. He couldn’t even beat Asher, so what was the point of throwing his life away?

But the men were already approaching. I could only lower my head and hide in the crowd.

Julian Fletcher went forward, bumped into one of the men, and quickly ran outside, leading them away.

Madeline Quinn and I hid for a while. Once we were sure there was no one suspicious around, I pulled her toward the emergency exit to leave through the underground parking garage.

SCREECH! Suddenly, a car sped toward us, aiming right for me and Madeline Quinn.

”Watch out!”

”Cece!”

We both subconsciously pushed each other away.

I watched in terror as the vehicle’s headlights grew closer and closer, and I powerlessly closed my eyes.

The bright lights made my head throb violently.

”Julian!” Just as the car was about to hit me and Madeline Quinn, a black Mercedes slammed into it from the side, knocking it away.

In the parking garage, the one who had rushed out and yelled for Julian Fletcher was Erin Whittaker.

’She really is a ghost you can’t shake. Is she here looking for Julian Fletcher?’

”Julian!” Erin Whittaker ran to the car, crying, to check on Julian Fletcher’s injuries. Julian frowned and yelled to me and Madeline Quinn, ”Get in the car, now!”

Erin Whittaker also scrambled into Julian Fletcher’s passenger seat, as if staking her claim. ”Silvia Lynch, Madeline Quinn, hurry up and get in.”

Madeline Quinn snapped out of her terror. Faced with a choice between being disgusted and staying alive, the two of us pragmatically chose to live and got into Julian Fletcher’s car.

”Can’t shake them,” Julian Fletcher said, glancing at the rearview mirror.

Madeline Quinn and I looked back and saw a black G-Wagen tailing us.

”Watch out!”

Just as our car got onto the overpass, the other vehicle charged at us.

BANG! The car smashed through the guardrail and plunged down.

”Cece...”

My consciousness began to fade, and my vision went black.

’The baby...’ The moment of impact, driven by maternal instinct, I curled up my body to protect the child in my womb.

But I still felt a warm gush from between my legs.

’No...’

’I don’t want to lose this baby. Asher... he really wanted this child.’
