After I Died, the Scumbag Went Mad

Chapter 163: Chapter 163: Asher, Let’s Run Away Together

The next morning, I was woken by Stella’s barking.

”Ugh...” ’Sleeping is so exhausting these days.’

I stretched, fighting the urge to kick Asher, who was clinging to me like an octopus, off the bed.

But he was injured, so I resisted.

Last night...

’Thinking about last night made me angry, and my cheeks burned hot.’

’This guy is never subtle about his flirting or his desires...’

For example, right now, not only did he not want to get up, but he was also continuing to be fresh with me.

”Cece... I’m so sleepy,” Asher mumbled, his arms tightening around me from behind, his hands starting to roam restlessly.

”Sebastian Lancaster, it’s your grandfather’s funeral today,” I said, smacking him on the forehead.

Asher grunted, reluctant. ”He’s not my grandfather...”

I knew he resented Master Lancaster, but appearances had to be maintained.

I tried to get up, but he suddenly pulled me back, trapping me on the bed.

He suddenly flipped over and pinned me beneath him. His scorching gaze made my heart race. ”What... do you think you’re doing?”

Asher looked at me, then leaned down and kissed my forehead.

”Be good.”

Asher let out a suppressed groan, got out of bed unhappily to go shower, and didn’t forget to shoot a glare at my stomach on his way out.

’He’s probably blaming the little one.’

’If I weren’t pregnant, he would have devoured me by now.’

Breathing a sigh of relief, I got up and tiptoed into the bathroom to wash up.

Asher was taking a cold shower. There was no steam in the bathroom, just a distinct chill in the air.

His back was to me. The burn scars on his back looked like a sprawling, demonic tree, something that would frighten most people.

I subconsciously reached out to touch the scars on his back.

His body tensed. His long legs shifted slightly, and I couldn’t tell if he was trying to pull away.

”Are you scared?” he asked, his voice hoarse.

”It’s not the first time I’ve seen them...” I shook my head. ”Did it hurt?”

He knew I wasn’t asking about now, but about the past.

’Back then, did it hurt?’

Asher didn’t turn around, just shaking his head.

’How could it not have hurt...?’

”How did you get this one?” He turned off the shower, afraid the cold water would splash on me.

My fingers traced along his firm waist... On his left flank, there was a scar about four centimeters long, clearly from a knife.

Asher fell silent, merely grasping my fingers and taking a deep breath. ”Cece... are you punishing me?”

I was stunned for a moment. ”I’m not?”

”Then why are you teasing me...” ’Starting a fire you have no intention of putting out.’

He had only just managed to suppress his desire with cold water.

”Are you in heat or something?” I asked through gritted teeth.

He nodded very seriously. ”Only when I see you.”

”...” ’He’s such a flirt. A genius is a genius, I guess—a natural.’

I turned away to avoid his intense gaze, brushed my teeth, washed my face, and made a quick escape.

Asher dawdled in the bathroom for over half an hour before finally coming out. Master Lancaster’s men were practically fuming.

”What’s taking him so long?” a thuggish-looking man grumbled downstairs.

I frowned. ”Were you asked to wait? If you don’t want to wait, you can get lost.”

The man spat. ”Who do you think you are?”

My expression darkened, but I didn’t stoop to his level. It was best not to provoke Master Lancaster’s men right now.

”Silvia Lynch, you were such a tramp back in school. Did you really think marrying into the Lancaster Family meant you’d made it big?” The man, however, seemed intent on provoking me. ”Me, remember? My name’s Jay. We went to the same school before you moved to the city. You were famous at our school. Your grandma said that as long as someone paid, they could do whatever they wanted to you.”

I glanced at the man. He must have been one of Silvia Lynch’s old high school classmates.

But I had no memory of him.

’All I can think is that Silvia Lynch’s past was truly pathetic.’

When Asher came out, the man named Jay shut his mouth, but not before he provocatively touched my face right in front of Asher.

My eyes went cold. I glanced towards the upper floors. There were too many cameras here. Today was not a good day to cause trouble.

Asher walked to my side and wiped my face with his hand.

I could feel the oppressive aura coming off him.

For some reason, I had a feeling someone was about to have a very bad day...

”Sir, please get in the car.” Owen Foster had also arrived and was ushering us into the car.

That man, Jay, was there to escort us to the funeral. Before getting in his own car, he deliberately provoked us again. ”Silvia Lynch, I remember back in school, anyone could touch you for twenty or thirty bucks. Has the price gone up?”

I squeezed Asher’s hand tightly. ’Master Lancaster most likely sent this person to provoke Asher and me on purpose. We can’t do anything now; the media and reporters are everywhere.’

”Drive in front,” Asher said coolly after we got in, telling Owen Foster to lead the way.

Jay’s car gave chase from behind.

Owen Foster drove quickly, and Jay hurriedly sped up to keep pace.

”Take the side road,” Asher commanded in a low voice.

I knew what Asher was planning and wanted to stop him, but his eyes were too cold.

”Brake.”

Asher timed it perfectly, telling Owen Foster to slam on the brakes.

Owen Foster slammed on the brakes. Jay’s car, right behind them, didn’t have time to react. The driver could only swerve violently, crashing into the guardrail.

This was a side road, under a bridge, with no cameras and no one following.

Asher glanced at me, then raised a hand to cover my eyes. ”Don’t open your eyes. Count to one hundred.”

I clasped my hands nervously.

He got out of the car and walked straight toward the vehicle behind us.

Jay was in the passenger seat and had been slightly injured in the crash.

Asher was incredibly strong. He ripped open the twisted car door and dragged the man out.

At first, Jay could still manage a laugh, his mouth bloody as he taunted, ”A fool and a tramp... a perfect match.”

But soon, he wasn’t laughing anymore.

He had never witnessed the kind of terror Asher was capable of.

HRK! Asher seemed to know exactly where to strike to silence someone. He hit Jay in the throat, then followed up with a series of punches to his face.

Finally, he stomped on the wrist of the hand that had touched me.

I panicked and quickly got out of the car.

’Of course... the other person in Jay’s car was secretly recording.’

’This was Master Lancaster’s real goal!’

’Provoke Asher... capture his terrifying, violent side on camera, and then exploit it.’

”Asher!” I ran over to stop him, my cold gaze fixed on the person in the car.

The man fumbled to lock the door, but I was faster.

I yanked the door open and lunged for the phone.

Asher shielded me from behind, reached past me to grab the person, pulled him out, and pinned him under his foot. ”Hand it over.”

The man’s voice trembled. ”I-It’s already been sent.”

He had already sent the video to Master Lancaster.

Asher’s eyes darkened for a moment, but his expression remained placid. He turned and led me back to our car.

Assistant Foster seemed completely used to this; he hadn’t even gotten out of the car. ”Someone will come clean this up, sir. Don’t worry.”

Asher didn’t say anything, just handed me a wet wipe. ”Cece... my hand hurts.”

My fingers trembled as I helped Asher wipe the blood from the back of his hand. ”Master Lancaster is going to use that video to cause trouble...”

Asher changed the subject. ”Cece...”

He pulled me into his arms, his voice colder than I had ever heard it. ”I won’t let... anyone touch you.”

I could feel the murderous intent still radiating from him, thick and undispersed.

’If I hadn’t stopped him, would he have killed them?’

”Asher... Master Lancaster will exploit this. If he calls the police, even if he’s not your legal guardian, he could have you sent to a psychiatric hospital...” I said, my voice trembling. ”We’re not going... We’re not going to the funeral. I’ll take you away from here.”

’Let’s run away.’

Only one thought filled my mind: take him and run. Run as far away as possible.

”Cece... we’ve tried to run before. We can’t escape.” Asher’s arms tightened around me as he spoke words I didn’t understand, words that made my whole body tremble.

”They’re so disgusting... Why can’t I just kill them?” Asher’s voice began to tremble, too.

It seemed his past experiences were causing him pain.

And that past must be one that Asher and I shared.

He said, ’we’ve tried to run before’...

’In my forgotten memories, did we try to escape?’
