Mana Revival: Starting by Sacrificing the Campus Belle!

Chapter 58: Chapter 54: Shocked Fang Xiu, Dumbfounded Trio

Fang Xiu leaned against a tree trunk.

He watched the sorry-looking trio with a mocking gaze.

The three of them had just breathed a sigh of relief.

But now, they were on high alert once again.

’This young man before us doesn’t look like the friendly type!’

And from the sound of it, that woman from before seemed to be with him.

That woman could fly.

And she didn’t look entirely human, either.

Not only were two of the three of them injured, but they had also nearly exhausted their Spiritual Power.

”Was that your friend just now? Thank you for saving my friend!”

After weighing his options, Yuan Heng clutched his shoulder, struggled to his feet, and spoke to Fang Xiu.

”Heh, it was nothing.”

Fang Xiu hadn’t expected Yuan Heng to say that.

However, he wasn’t about to let the matter drop. Fang Xiu said lightly, ”The three of you coordinate well. You must have been together for a long time, haven’t you?”

”Yes, that’s right. We’ve been hunting Demon Beasts together ever since our Awakening. You could say we have some synergy!”

Yuan Heng said with a hint of resignation.

’Synergy?’

’Synergy might be useful against Demon Beasts of a similar Level, but it was completely useless against that Vermilion-haired Ape.’

”That Vermilion-haired Ape is a Level 25 Demon Beast. You three don’t look like you’re even Level 20. What are you doing out here?”

Fang Xiu asked casually.

He really just wanted to know what these people were doing here.

He had clearly heard them mention a treasure earlier.

”Well... we’re actually...”

Yuan Heng hesitated.

Fang Xiu didn’t interrupt, just waited for him to continue.

”Right! Actually, we’re all only Level 15. We just accidentally wandered into this Vermilion-haired Ape’s territory and it started chasing us!”

Lin Huo quickly cut in to answer.

After speaking, he even nudged Du Xiwei, who was beside him.

”Oh, is that so?”

Fang Xiu didn’t look at the other two, keeping his gaze fixed on Yuan Heng.

Hearing this, Yuan Heng’s eyes darted away evasively.

”I... I guess so!”

After a moment’s hesitation, seeing the frantic look in his teammate’s eyes, Yuan Heng could only nod.

But his words lacked conviction.

”Oh!”

Fang Xiu nodded slightly.

”ROAR!”

Just then, an angry roar echoed from not far away.

Then, a red streak of light flashed by and landed next to Fang Xiu. ”Master, it’s done!”

’Master?’

When they heard this form of address, Yuan Heng and his companions were all stunned.

’This woman actually called the young man Master?’

’What... what is their relationship?’

”Um... thank you for taking care of the Vermilion-haired Ape.”

Yuan Heng said hurriedly.

”Take care of it? No, I only take care of what Master commands!”

A smile played on Kajimi’s lips.

Her words stunned Yuan Heng’s group once more.

”ROAR!”

Then they heard the roar of the Vermilion-haired Ape again.

Then it went silent.

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

Another series of heavy footsteps approached.

It was a sound they heard clearly and knew all too well—the heavy footsteps of the Vermilion-haired Ape!

Sure enough, a moment later, the figure of the Vermilion-haired Ape appeared.

”It... it’s back!”

Lin Huo had no more courage left to fight.

Before, he’d dared to fight, fueled by a rush of adrenaline.

But now that the flow was broken, all he felt was fear.

He didn’t dare to fight anymore.

”What’s that it’s dragging?”

Du Xiwei had sharp eyes and noticed that what the Vermilion-haired Ape was dragging was no longer the tree from before.

It was something else.

”Oh, that? That’s a person. Your little companion!”

Kajimi answered his question.

Hearing this, Yuan Heng and his two companions froze: ”...”

”That’s Luo Sheng!”

The three of them finally realized what was happening.

Wasn’t that Luo Sheng, the one who had run off earlier?

”This...”

Lin Huo didn’t know what to say.

”Serves him right!”

Du Xiwei said, his face filled with anger.

Luo Sheng’s earlier actions had infuriated him.

Meanwhile, Yuan Heng said nothing.

It was unclear what he was thinking.

”Well everyone, you have a good fight now. I’ll be taking my leave!”

Fang Xiu smiled faintly at the three of them, each with a different expression on their face.

Then, held by Kajimi, he flew straight up into the air.

”You...”

Lin Huo wanted to say something, but he didn’t dare.

After all, the man had no reason to stay.

He didn’t know them. The fact that he wasn’t stabbing them in the back was already a kindness.

”What do we... how do we fight this?”

Du Xiwei sounded completely drained.

In the previous fight, they had all run on anger and hot-blooded courage.

But now... they didn’t even want to face it.

They had already witnessed how terrifying the Vermilion-haired Ape was.

They couldn’t win. It was impossible.

A moment ago, the Vermilion-haired Ape hadn’t even used any Skills, and they still couldn’t hold on just from its basic attacks.

If it used its Skills, wouldn’t they be killed instantly?

”Um... could you help us?”

Yuan Heng looked up at Fang Xiu, who was hovering in the air, and asked.

”Help? I’m only Level 12. You guys are Level 15-16 and you can’t beat it. How am I supposed to help?”

A smile remained on Fang Xiu’s face.

He wasn’t worried about revealing his Level and having someone plot against him.

After all... he had Kajimi.

”Le... Level 12?”

Yuan Heng hadn’t thought that Fang Xiu’s Level was only 12.

’But... the one beside him is definitely not just Level 12.’

’She was able to lure the Vermilion-haired Ape away so easily and then come back.’

’She even led the Vermilion-haired Ape to Luo Sheng and got him killed. If it weren’t such a coincidence, Yuan Heng would have suspected that this ape was their pet.’

”Your own Power may not be that strong, but I know you have a way!”

By now, the Vermilion-haired Ape was getting closer and closer.

Yuan Heng spoke quickly, ”Yes! We’re here on a treasure hunt! We know a place where there’s some kind of treasure. We don’t know what it is exactly, but we’re sure it’s there. The problem is, this Vermilion-haired Ape is guarding the path. When it discovered us, we had to run!”

”Oh? And the treasure is still there?”

Fang Xiu asked.

”Yes, it’s still there!”

Yuan Heng replied hastily.

Fang Xiu smiled slightly. ”And you know the exact address and location?”

”Yes, we know!”

Yuan Heng said quickly, his eyes on the approaching Vermilion-haired Ape.

”Oh!”

Fang Xiu nodded slightly, his Spiritual Power surging. ”Netherworld Thunder Fall!”

RUMBLE!

In an instant, dark clouds gathered in the sky.

Countless strands of black thunder intertwined.

When they saw this, Yuan Heng and his two companions were dumbfounded.

’This... is Level 12?’

’Who are you kidding?’

’This is Level 12? Our Level 15 Mage can only use the Fireball Technique and basic Flame!’

Countless bolts of thunder rained down directly on the Vermilion-haired Ape.

”ROAR!”

The Vermilion-haired Ape was no sitting duck.

It tossed Luo Sheng’s body aside.

It beat its chest with both fists, let out a furious roar, and the vermilion fur on its body became even smoother and brighter.

This was the Vermilion-haired Ape’s first Skill—Enhancement.

Using this Skill could make its fur harder, allowing it to withstand greater damage.

It was a boost to its Defense Power.

”It’s trying to take it head-on?”

Fang Xiu smiled faintly.

His Skill wasn’t an ordinary Demon Beast Skill, but a much more powerful Magic Beast Skill.

And that Magic Beast had been so powerful that even its Spiritual Body alone could be used as a Sacrifice to the Deities.

’I really don’t know where Dad got such a powerful Magic Core.’

Fang Xiu mused internally.

At the same time, the black thunder from the sky had already landed on the Vermilion-haired Ape.

RUMBLE!

Countless bolts of thunder struck down.

For a moment, the heavens and the earth trembled.

”GULP!”

Lin Huo swallowed hard.

A moment ago, he had thought that Fang Xiu was just a Level 12 Awakened.

What was there to be so arrogant about?

Only now did he understand that the guy had actually been going easy on them.

If that thunder had fallen on them, wouldn’t it have been an instant kill?

”ROAR!”

The Vermilion-haired Ape roared once again.

Its body began to swell, its height increasing by about a meter.

This was the Vermilion-haired Ape’s second Skill—Muscle Building.

In this state, the Vermilion-haired Ape’s Defense wasn’t just boosted; its Power was, too.

”Oh? Don’t tell me it’s going to try and catch it with its bare hands?”

Seeing the Vermilion-haired Ape now, Fang Xiu was suddenly curious.

’This thing isn’t actually trying to catch lightning, is it?’

’That would be quite amusing.’

Sure enough, the Vermilion-haired Ape enveloped its fists in Spiritual Power.

Then, it threw a punch at the descending black thunder!

BANG!

CRACK!

The Vermilion-haired Ape was struck directly by the black thunder and sent flying.

It slammed heavily onto the ground, skidding for several meters and knocking down a few trees before coming to a stop.

”Such terrifying Thunder Power!”

Du Xiwei stared blankly at the blasted Vermilion-haired Ape.

The three of them had personally experienced how strong its Power and how high its Defense Power were.

But now, it had been sent flying by a single bolt of black thunder.

’Is... is this guy really Level 12?’

’They’d believe it if he said he was Level 30!’

”ROAR!”

The Vermilion-haired Ape roared once more.

It was about to get back up.

But the thunder fell again.

Fang Xiu had a feeling this one Skill would be enough to finish off the Vermilion-haired Ape.

He had only wanted to show off his power a little, to make Yuan Heng’s group fear him for his own strength, not just because they were wary of Kajimi.

That way, they wouldn’t try any funny business behind his back.

Just a little intimidation.

But as it turned out... it seemed he was actually going to kill the Level 25 Vermilion-haired Ape.

Even Fang Xiu hadn’t expected this.

”Master, the power of your Skill... it’s so strong!”

Even Kajimi, who was beside him, whispered in awe.

”Mm!”

’Damn, I didn’t expect this myself.’

RUMBLE!

As the bolts of black thunder continued to fall...

...Gradually, the Vermilion-haired Ape stopped crying out.

It went silent.

Fang Xiu, a Level 12 Awakened, had used a single Skill to kill a Level 25 Demon Beast with powerful Defense.

If word of this got out, who would believe it!

But the truth was right before their eyes.

Moreover, the Vermilion-haired Ape’s body was glowing—clearly, it was about to drop some loot.

Fang Xiu looked on with anticipation.

Yuan Heng and his companions wore looks of utter shock!
