The Golem Mage

The mages from the War God Academy team remained completely focused on the ongoing match, afraid to divert their attention even for a second, fearing they might miss the crucial moves unfolding before them.

Agnes, Sophia, and a few others were all immersed in the intense atmosphere, contemplating what they would do if they were given the opportunity to fight, The matches they were watching had far exceeded their initial expectations.

When they imagined facing any of the mages from the Bloodline Academy or the Holy Grail Academy, they couldn’t envision themselves winning.

They were aware of the danger posed by such thoughts, as it means they might bow out of the tournament soon .

However, while some entertained those doubts, Alec could be seen chuckling mischievously, eliciting curious looks from Arthur and Brandon.

It had been a while since they had witnessed that familiar expression on Alec’s face, since he didn’t have a chance to try experimenting on new golems creation.

”Alec, that devious grin tells me you’re already concocting something in that head of yours, and I hope you’re not leaving us out of the plan,” Arthur commented.

”I love it, it’s like this second round was made for someone like me,” Alec mentioned, his gaze fixed on Carmilla as she excited the crowd with a wave, after securing the first victory for the Bloodline Academy in the battle against Holy Grail Academy.

”Who will take the position of the second attacker?, we need to carry on the momentum that Michael worked so hard to create, we want the fans to remain on our side until the very end,” Julian announced, his eyes closed, as he was addressing the three remaining teammates seated with him at the front.

”I’ll do it!” Gabriel stood up, ready to take action.

However, before he could even take a step, a streak of light flashed past his face with incredible speed, he turned his head to locate the source of the attack, only to find Julian with his hand outstretched.

”I apologize for delivering this news now, but you are not permitted to confront that lady, while I may not be a skilled strategist, Michael instructed me that if he were to be defeated, I should ensure that you are not the first one to face her, as your sole focus would be seeking revenge for what happened to him, that way you would lose sight of the bigger picture” Julian explained, emphasizing Gabriel’s clouded judgment following his brother’s defeat.

Upon hearing his captain’s words, Gabriel reluctantly settled back into his seat, understanding the reasoning behind Julian’s decision.

”Another person from your clan in the northern kingdom? Now I must ask, why would a powerful and large clan like yours diminish its strength by sending descendants elsewhere?” Agnes inquired, curious about the dynamics of the Ancient Blaze methods, as they heard the referee’s announcement of Cassandra’s name.

Before stepping onto the stage as the Holy Grail Academy’s second participant in the fight,

”Well, it’s quite simple actually, they didn’t deem us worthy of their attention, despite awakening the clan’s primary ability, none of us who were sent out were able to convince the clan elders that we would become exceptional mages upon awakening.”

”As lesser acknowledged members of the clan, we are dispatched to learn from other institutions or sects, if we manage to catch the clan’s attention before completing our training, we would be called back to be nurtured with the clan’s secret arts, however, if we prove to be mediocre throughout our training period, our status upon returning would diminish.”

Lucas responded without glancing at Agnes, he was well aware that she is the group’s information gatherer, which means she would inevitably learn from her contacts later if he didn’t say a thing.

This inevitability prompted him to divulge the details about his clan himself.

Agnes, upon learning about the Blade clan’s rigorous training program for their younger generations, realized she might have hit a nerve, and internally chastised her own curiosity for once again getting the better of her.

Cassandra Blade stood impeccably attired in the Holy Grail Academy’s white uniform, trimmed with golden edges.

Her black hair was neatly tied back in a ponytail.

In stark contrast to Michael, her expression was one of unwavering seriousness as she unsheathed her dual swords from her waist, her gaze locked firmly on Carmilla without a flicker of distraction amidst the unfolding action.

”I see you’re not as talkative as the other guy,” Carmilla remarked.

Yet Cassandra remained silent, offering only an intense stare in lieu of conversation.

”Begin!” announced the red-haired referee, vanishing from sight to allow the combatants to engage.

But unlike the other matches that commenced with immediate charges from the fighters, this one was different as they stood still.

To the audience, it appeared as a mere standoff, but the true experts could discern the careful strategizing at play.

Without crossing blades, both ladies had already run through countless simulations and counterattacks in their minds, anticipating each other’s moves.

However, this cerebral battle of wills was ill-suited for someone like Carmilla, who favoured a more explosive approach.

With a wand materializing in her hand, she launched a spell at Cassandra, a probing attack to gauge her opponent’s defences.
