The Golem Mage

The Patriarch of the Gordons clan stood on the room’s edge, gazing at his brother who still lay on the bed.

”Are you ready?, I am about to give it to him now,” the Grand Elder asked, receiving a nod of agreement from George.

”Give him the stuff, we have to be done with it soon, i hope this really works,” the patriarch said, his eyes fixed on the blood moon looming in the sky, even within the confines of their home, the foreboding aura of dread and violence was palpable.

”You know the city will suffer significant losses, and many skilled mages will perish in the process, you should have sent at least one of the elders to compete in the blood moon war!”

The Grand Elder expressed, signalling the first elder to proceed with giving the Third Elder the Dragon heart leaf.

”Alec’s previous accomplishments in the Blood Moon war have granted us a few months of respite from participating, and I plan on making the most of it, the city lord believes his city is now secure with new clans possessing various specialties.”

” And we have become the old cargo, so let’s see how they endure the enhanced energy from the space gate and the powerful Goblins it will spawn,” the patriarch explained, turning to leave.

However, he suddenly sensed the third elder’s heart beating rapidly, prompting him to turn back.

To his surprise, the third elder’s eyes abruptly opened, and he leapt out of bed, It appeared that the Dragon heart leaf not only healed him but also boosted his power back to its peak.

The patriarch observed in astonishment as the third Elder’s skin began to peel off, resembling a snake shedding its old skin, with a loud shout, he awakened.

His new skin appeared flawless and pristine as he tightly clenched his hand and smirked.

”I am about to break through to the Tier 7 realm, and this time, I can’t stop it,” the third Elder declared amidst his laughter.

Although he had always possessed the ability to enter the Tier 7 realm, but he had chosen to wait for the breakthrough to occur naturally, even if it meant restraining himself.

But today, upon awakening, he could feel it coursing through his bloodstream—a potent energy that accelerated his heart rate and compelled his veins to pump every drop of available blood and he knew he could no longer restrain it In for longer, he would have to breakthrough in few minutes.

”Do you realize the hardships you’ve imposed upon us?, It’s good to see you again! In full health” George spoke with a gentle smile, gazing at the third Elder.

”Man, you’ve never been one for tears, don’t make me pity you, i need to let loose,” the third Elder responded back not wanting to talk about the past, gazing out the window at the blood red skies, a smirk curling his lips.

”I feel as though the gods themselves are honouring me—a fu*king blood moon!” he exclaimed, seizing a wine gourd from the nearby table, his intention to escape outside the windows evident.

”Wait, I don’t want us to partake in this blood moon, you can let loose, but don’t get involved in the Blood Moon war!”

The Patriarch said, but the third Elder simply stared at him with foolish eyes, causing George to face palm in frustration, It was clear his brother had no intention of heeding his words the moment he made those eyes.

”Okay, go ahead!” the patriarch reluctantly conceded as the third Elder burst through the window, soaring into the skies with uproarious laughter.

The wine he had stolen had actually been brought for him by George, who hoped that the scent of the sweet wine would rouse his brother from his coma.

George had even promised to drink with him this time, something the third Elder had always yearned and asked for, However, the patriarch had always refused to indulge in such drinking sessions.

So Feeling disheartened and lacking ideas, the patriarch had uttered a promise towards him in the coma stage, ”If you awaken from your coma, I promise to drink with you.”

But clearly, his brother had awakened in the most dramatic way possible. Not only had he been miraculously healed, but he was also on the verge of becoming a Tier 7 Mage.

And if he fought through the Blood Moon, he would become the fourth known Tier 7 Mage of the Gordons clan elevating their position, something the patriarch clearly didn’t want.

”What an idiot!, He was never one to follow orders like that, Nevertheless, we’re all still relieved that our brother is back,” the Grand Elder remarked.

”He’s an unpredictable entity, I should go and ensure his safety,” suggested the fourth elder, but the patriarch shook his head, disagreeing.

”You are a Tier 7 Mage, on the cusp of entering the Tier 8 realm, if something were to happen, you would be forced to retaliate, jeopardizing all the progress you’ve made over the years, I won’t allow that to happen again, I would send someone else” the patriarch firmly declared.

”I believe that stubborn old Third can protect himself even after just awakening, that guy is a troublemaker the Abyss can’t even control, considering the amount of energy he was releasing, am sure he will eventually breaks through,”

” But don’t worry he won’t be affected by the blood moon rules since he was a Tier 6 Mage when the blood moon rise to the sky, So you can rest assured,” the patriarch confidently stated, walking away with his hands behind his back and a smile on his lips.

The grand elder let out a sigh of relief as he witnessed his brother letting go of the hatred he felt for long and his second personality returning to dormancy.

The city lord of Estonia city could be seen gazing out at the horizon, his hands behind his back, a defeated expression on his face.

”Still, the Gordons clan refuses our offer to join the blood moon war, is George so consumed by his vengeance against the Lanzt clan that he would make me pay for it?” the city lord questioned himself.

”He is truly furious that you prevented him from killing the Lanzt clan patriarch, he still holds that grudge, believing that you had turned in the Lanzt Clan Patriarch in order to take credit for capturing him while he was the one who actually apprehended him in a bid to eliminate him, George wanted someone to blame for what happened to his brother and clansmen,” his advisor explained.

”But you stood in his way using your position on him, someone you called a friend , so he redirected his anger towards you, and I’m afraid any relationship you once had is now severed.”

”Still, I hope he will send one of his clan’s Tier 6 mages to the front line, they are known for their ability to fight multiple enemies at once, and all the elders of their clan are expert fighters., It’s clear why we need their help as the threat from the space gate continues to grow,” the city lord concluded.

”If we don’t win this battle now, the next blood moon could see the clash of Tier 7 lifeforms, that means even I won’t be spared from being overwhelmed by the goblins, as I would have to defend the city myself if a Tier 7 attacked,”

The City Lord said with a heavy sigh. In his mind, he prayed for a miracle, and it seemed as if the Gods were answering his plea when he spotted a brilliant golden streak of light flash from the Gordons clan residence.

The streak flew straight towards the city gates, accompanied by the sound of raucous laughter.

Squinting his eyes, he saw that it was the third Elder of the Gordons clan, restored to perfect health.

”The gods have indeed answered my prayers,” the City Lord exclaimed, realizing that two other streaks of light were following closely behind the third Elder of the Gordons clan.
