The Golem Mage

”Come on now Selene, that’s enough, there’s no need to roughen up the boy anymore; I’m sure he and his team have already learned their lessons,”

Edward, who had mysteriously appeared, said, saving Pale and his group as the water above their head seemed to move towards Selene, the lady with the scar on her face, as she snorted and silently walked off.

”Well, another thing I forgot to mention to all you young mages is that when you finally go on a mission using your rank, there are privileges and rules you have to follow if you want to survive,”

Edward said to the whole Pale team, who were still choking as he was starting a lecture even in their current state.

”But sir, she nearly killed us. Aren’t we fellow students?” Luna questioned.

”You would shut up and never talk ahead of your commanding leader unless I ask you to, Is that clear?” Edward’s head turned towards Luna with a smile on his face as his eyes were closed, just to see how much he was straining them to smile.

But all Luna saw was a smile that sent fear down her spine, she was only able to calm down after he turned back to Pale.

”So where are we now?, As I was saying, you have to respect every single senior and those ranked higher than you; all you have to do is bow to them, If not, just know if they have the power to kill you and they do, it wouldn’t even be investigated, Now, do you understand?” Edward asked, and everyone of them was just looking at him in shock.

”Okay, sir!” Pale was the only one to get his act together and reply back.

”Good, now all you have to do is find a place among these various mini houses, pick one, and stay, this is where you will be staying and training for the meantime.”

” Don’t worry, when the rest of the teams arrive, I will make sure to explain to you what your next set of mission is,” Edward said.

With that, he started walked away, only to disappear as a loud thunder struck the place where he stood, leaving Pale’s group watching him disappear.

The members of Beatrice watched as she closed her eyes and stretched out her fingers, as little Mana glows appeared as it seems she was controlling something.

Although they couldn’t see what was happening inside the house, but it was evident to them that she was trying to control the puppet within the house since they couldn’t get in.

Inside the house, the Hell Hounds that disappeared outside had actually been summoned inside the house by the demon lurking in the shadows.

Before the Hell Hounds could attack, the dark rune on the puppet’s head started revolving, its middle point turning into eerie-looking eyes.

And Mana strings began to glow on the puppet’s joints, indicating someone was controlling it.

This was all it took for the Hell Hounds to charged in, and the puppet swiftly moved towards the man I the middle of the room shivering at the sight, the puppet draw its sword in a fluid movement to strike the Hounds back.

It to react adeptly to all their attacks no matter which angle they attacked from

The demon in the shadow observed the puppet’s fighting skills, realizing something was amiss as it had changed.

Previously it had been focused on finding and eliminating him, but now the puppet’s battle awareness seems to have increased since the Mana strings appeared.

And it seems it’s main mission had now shifted to protecting the man, which was not an inaccurate assumption made by the demon, as it previously it had been the puppet fighting as it relied on its own intelligence and instincts to attack.

Now, with Beatrice in control of its movements through the Mana strings, her priority was to save the man, who had sought help from the academy. Saving him also carried extra points, him dying means they would be penalised and lose a portion of their points for a failed mission, and she was determined not to lose out on those points, talk less of getting penalised.

Beatrice’s ability to make the puppet react swiftly to attacks was attributed to the all-seeing Eyes she used to control the puppet.

When activating this technique, she could see a full 360 degrees and respond to attacks, provided the puppet’s body could match the speed of the attack.

With the human Puppet strength and her super control , it became a near-perfect warrior.

However, Beatrice faced a challenging battle against the relentless Hell Hounds which seems would not end anytime soon , while the demon in the shadows grew impatient as it was now eyeing the opportunity to strike.

As its time was running out, the demon emerged from the shadows to attack directly.

As the demon moved, Beatrice sensed the danger and quickly took control of the puppet’s body.

”Duck!” the puppet exclaimed, startling the man, but he didn’t hesitate, dropping to the ground without needing a second warning, as his life was at stake.

A small bang echoed as both the demon and the puppet were sent flying, giving Beatrice a good look at the demon that had attempted to attack.
