Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1386: Chapter 1400: An Ran Is Being Kept Again

From the initial impression of that spoiled little girl who always said, ”my husband told me to do this and that”, I have come to see her as part of my own family, a little girl I cherish.

”Not entirely,” An Ran waved her hand, walking into the café to find a seat by the window before continuing, ”It’s just a few steps away, no need to pick me up. Besides, if you drive your big Mercedes to pick me up, gossip will start, and they’ll say the medical school’s An Ran is being kept.”

An Ran exaggeratedly pinched her throat and said the phrase, making Huo Shaohua shake his head and laugh.

”Who has the ability to keep our little Ran like that?”

Song Yu saw An Ran the moment she entered the café and walked over to greet her, hearing her teasing.

”Auntie, how can you tease me too?” An Ran turned back to see Song Yu, pouting in dissatisfaction.

Huo Shaohua looked perplexed at the two of them; he knew An Ran, and Song Yu was somewhat renowned in Nan’an. He had met her a few times at business gatherings, so he knew her, but why were they together, and calling her auntie?

He couldn’t understand.

Song Yu affectionately touched her head and greeted Huo Shaohua, ”What would you like to drink today, President Huo?”

Huo Shaohua’s confusion was fleeting; as he met Song Yu’s gentle eyes, he smiled faintly, ”The usual, an Americano, please.”

”I want a latte and two slices of Black Forest cake,” without waiting for Song Yu to ask, An Ran quickly added.

”Two slices of Black Forest, can this belly hold it? Look at your bun face, how does Xingfeng tolerate you?” Song Yu said as she pinched An Ran’s chubby cheeks.

An Ran grimaced as she was pinched, ”Auntie, I haven’t had breakfast yet, just two slices of cake, really, you’re becoming stingier. Besides, where am I fat? Xingfeng says I’m just right and could stand to gain a little more.”

”Okay, okay, I’m just worrying for nothing. In Xingfeng’s eyes, you’re a cute little piglet, always the most adorable little piglet. Wait here, I’ll get them for you,” Song Yu nodded again to Huo Shaohua before turning to the counter to have coffee and cake prepared for them.

”I didn’t expect Mr. An and President Song to have such a relationship,” Huo Shaohua chuckled lightly.

An Ran simply smiled, offering no explanation, and asked, ”Vice President Huo, did you ask to meet me today because something happened at the company?”

If it’s a financial issue, Huo Shaohua typically reports to her at the start of the month, and those financial reports give her headaches. After he reported twice, she refused to hear about them again.

Apart from that, the company didn’t seem to have anything particularly urgent to report, so she couldn’t fathom what Huo Shaohua wanted.

When the topic turned to company matters, Huo Shaohua’s smile faded, and he became more serious.

”Mr. An, the company has encountered some issues. To be honest, even before October, there were problems with the company’s finances, and two partners had contracts expiring. However, instead of continuing cooperation with Wenshan, they did not renew.

Initially, President Jin and I didn’t notice any problem. You know, Wenshan Group involves numerous business transactions; every year contracts expire, one or two terminating cooperation is normal. Recently, though, besides expiring contracts, another company directly terminated its cooperation with Wenshan. Now, some factories under Wenshan are already facing raw material shortages...”
